[SOLVED] Phone phone in bootloop, power button also not responding - Nokia 6.1 Plus (X6) Questions & Answers

Hi,
I installed an unoffical havoc android 11 build along with opengapps with the help of TWRP, and now my phone is stuck showing me a loop that goes round and round, and the power button isn't working either.
What to do? I feel like in time the battery will die but I am not sure it will go in recovery either.

I was able to fix this myself. Here is what I did:
1. Wait until phone goes out of battery.
2. Open cmd and enter following command:
Bash:
fastboot boot twrp.img
. Since the device is still not connected, it will get stuck on "waiting for device".
3. Now connect the discharged phone to your pc using a good USB cable and power it on. The phone will start charging, but will restart several times before it is sufficiently charged. Once it is sufficiently charged, it will proceed to boot wherein fastboot will detect it and boot twrp.
4. Now you are in twrp. You can go ahead with flash. I used havoc (android 10) image for Nokia 6.1 plus from https://nokia-sdm660.github.io
Why it happened:
I am not sure but it could be one of these:
1. I forgot to clean dalvik cache
2. I used unofficial havoc (android 11) image
Thanks for this community for giving us exceptional amount of information, I was able to resolve this issue by myself.

[Q] Issue With Nexus Q Booting After Flash

Hi there,
I was able to boot the Q fine. I enabled USB debugging, used ADB to reboot into bootloader ran the oem unlock/unlock_accept command successfully. I rebooted and flashed CWM recovery v 6.0.2.7 steelhead. Once this was done, I rebooted into recovery and used adb to push the latest stable release of CM 10.1 to the sdcard. I then flashed this via CWM recovery, and performed a factory reset.
Now that I have rebooted system, it just sits on the cyanogenmod loading splash screen. I left it for over 2 hours at first, then I power cycled device and left it over night. I attempted to go back into recovery, but covering the LED on the top does not seem to result it anything. I power cycled the Q again, and held my hand over the LED from boot to attempt to get into recovery but I am not able to. I also powered device up and waited until the ring LED began to light up, then covered the top LED to see if this allowed to boot into recovery but still no change.
I let the Q boot up once more, and after sitting on the splash screen loading for about 10 minutes, I connected the device back to my PC, and found that adb can see the device. However now that it is running CM 10.1, adb security is enabled and my PC is unauthorized. I am unsure how to proceed at this point. Do I need to try a different PC than the one that was originally used to flash to see if it works (I doubt it will as that wont be authorized either, right?) or am I doing something wrong while trying to get into recovery?
If anyone can shed some light, or assist even getting into recovery, or providing a way to get around the adb authority requirement it would be greatly appreciated.
Ok scratch the above.. I managed to tap on the top LED about 50 times during boot, at which point it turned to red solid LED ring and loaded enough for me to get in using fastboot. I flashed the recovery again, ran a factory reset/wipe cache on it twice, and rebooted. it is now sitting at the home screen ready for me to purchase an OTG USB cable tomorrow and set up cyanogen mod!

[Q] Stuck in fastboot, cannot use controls, already flashed everything, any ideas?

So to answer the first question, yes I followed the stickied guide up top, and yes, it successfully flashed the bootloader, wiped all data, and flashed stock ROM all to success. It appears my case is unique. I was told that it could be the battery connection, so I've done no fewer than half a dozen times of taking the back off, resetting the battery connection, and closing back up. It does not appear to be the battery.
I am stuck on the fastboot screen, the one where the android is lying down and blue squares project from an body. It shows me the controls I can make with the volume switches and the selection choice of 'Start'... but I cannot do anything. Before I went to flash I could move through the selection with Vol Up ONLY, but now I cannot even do that. Here's all the mode says:
Code:
FASTBOOT MODE
product name - grouper
variant - grouper
hw version - er3
bootloader version - 4.23
baseband version - n/a
serial number - ###############
signing - not defined yet
LOCK STATE - UNLOCKED
I've pretty spent the past twenty four hours on google searching through all the threads I've seen. They are either all dead, or most of them found the sticky fixed their problem. Has anyone heard of it coming to this?! All I can do is access fastbook VIA a DOS prompt and do fastboot commands, and if I disconnect the tablet from my PC, it'll remain in this mode with the screen on until the battery dies. Charging appears to charge the tablet, but again, no controls work. And yes, the buttons were set properly when I closed my tablet.
Anyone?
1) what is it exactly that your trying to do?
2) can u boot into the OS?
3) your recovery may be corrupt re-flash the recovery via fastboot

I'm just trying to boot up! I don't know what happened, but I haven't been able to use it for school all week!
I cannot boot into the OS. Any time I plug this device in it sends me to the fastboot screen with no controls.
OK I just flashed CWMR 6.0.4.3 and it did not fix the problem.
Any other ideas?
I just repeated all the steps again to see if any of them failed before, they have not worked. So recap:
Stuck in fastboot mode
Android will not boot
Loose battery connection is not the problem
I am able to access fastboot on my computer
I have followed everything from the sticky (wipe everything, flash bootloader, flash image)
I have flashed a new recovery
I am still stuck in fastboot
I cannot control options in fastboot with the volume and power buttons
I can only access fastboot by charging my tablet
The only way the tablet will power down is when it completely depletes it's battery
As far as I can tell, nothing was wrong with the tablet when it was functioning
This happened when I went to charge my tablet, presumably when the battery ran flat running android
If I charge too long the tablet gets fairly hot.
That's about all the information I can provide. Is there anything else I can try? Please, I need a tablet for school and I cannot afford a new one!

Hard Brick P10 Lite - need help

Hello everyone, just wanted to say a quick thanks, after successfully rooting and installing custom roms on two phones thanks to the information on these forums, third time turns out to be a charm and I managed to hard brick my new P10 lite.
The situation right now:
no charge light, no combination of buttons will do anything, phone is dead and will not boot or vibrate.
my computer will recognize that a phone is connected, for example Hisuite will pop up when i connect the phone, and in device manager, it shows Lemobile android device and the submenu says Android bootloader interface.
how i got here:
i was trying to install lineage 14.1 from this haky86
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...m-lineageos-14-1-huawei-p8-lite-2017-t3649292
but before i did that, i used this guide to install twrp and supersu:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/how-to/twrp-how-to-root-p10-lite-t3617418
everything went fine, on the stock operating system i had root and system was running.
when i installed lineage, i lost root and couldnt figure out how to get it back. so i used this guide to restore the stock system and was going to try again from the beginning.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/help/original-service-rom-huawei-p10-lite-t3688097
however, when i tried to reinstall lineage for the second, third and fourth time, i kept getting stuck in a bootloop with the lineage animation. it seemed to me that i needed to flash the vendor image, and i found a guide on xda how to do it, but it wouldnt let me flash to the vendor partition. (sorry, i dont recall the exact error and i cant get there anymore :/)
so in massive frustration and desperation, i tried to use this method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...uide-unbrick-huawei-p8-lite-2017-pra-t3713574
which i know is for a p8 and i never should have tried to install it, but it went through the whole download process and at about 50-60% on the recovery the phone went black and never turned on again.
i have read that perhaps disconnecting the battery for a few minutes might help? or is this something that dc unlocker can help with?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. if more information is needed, please let me know.
Hi,
Have you tried completely turning off your phone (pressing on/off button for roughly 20 seconds) and then booting into recovery (pressing Volume Up and Power key simultaneously for rouhgly 10 seconds)?
Best,
Kenny
Thanks for the reply, but as I said, no button combinations elicit any response. The only sign that the phone is not completely dead is that it will be recognized by my computer as an android phone, but adb (for example) says no device is connected.
lineage gives you bootloop due to wrong data partition format
bricked my p10 lite several times same ending
only way that always gets the phone back to life is flashing lineage, i took haazan's one
BUT BEFORE flashing the lineage 14.1 zip check partition format is ext4
when back on lineage and stock ROM is wanted boot into twrp and re change format to f2ts or how it is named and flash the stock zip
unbricked
edit:
saw your second post too late
if the phone does not response on any button(s) maybe adb sideload command for change partition format and then sideloading the lineage zip is a way?
I have a similar problem, I have a custom rom (Elemental) but I flash another custom rom, it was normal, in the reboot it not turn on, only is in fastboot mode, i flash original system, cust, boot, and another but it is the same, help me please

Problems booting into recovery and fastboot

I have a problem booting into recovery and fastboot on my Zenpad 8 Z380KL.
It is impossible to reboot into recovery or into fastboot.
I installed TWRP and LineageOS 14 and have activated the extended boot, but whatever I do the device always performs a normal boot.
The only way to get into recovery is to do a "normal" boot while pressing "volume up" during the reboot. With this I get into fastboot mode. It shows a menu as follows:
1. Enter SD down mode
2. Factory reset
3. Exit update mode
SD down mode does not seem to do anyhing. Screen goes black for a second and then it shows the same menu again.
Exit update mode performs a normal reboot.
So, in my despair I tried "Factory reset" and this starts TWRP
The lineageOS downloader can enter recovery without any problem and updates LOS versions as expected.
Another strange thing: My PC does not see the device with "adb devices" . When I connect my pc for the first time the tablet asks me to give permissions to that PC, but I still cannot see the tablet with my PC. It used to work before.
When in fastboot mode the PC can see the tablet (with "fastboot devices" off cause)
Wired, strange, miraculous. What's going on here?
Any idea/hint?
Rant:
This is the third Asus phone I came across, and each of them took me days and taking my last nerve to unlock, root, flash. In my experience Asus phones/tablets are not meant to be owned by the user - the user is just allowed to use them and to arrange themselves with the bloatware, the ads, the vulnerabilities due to missing updates . As much as I like their mainboards I hate the mobiles from this company. I can only recommend not to buy from that company (and I will never ever make this mistake again). Don't buy mobiles from this brand!

[PROBLEM] MI A1 Black Screen Image after boot Image

Hello, it is my first time trying to write a post on xda so excuse me if I do something wrong.
I've been playing with Roms a lot of time, installing, uninstalling, bricking and unbricking phones. so have a pretty good idea of how it works but now I just don't know what I did wrong and my phone is just ... in a black screen after boot image.
I was currently on DP5 android 9 by @joeyhuab and everything worked perfectly. Today was released android Pie and I just want to try it. So, I made the steps for DP5 to PR1 and everything runs well until I reboot from TWRP to the system. Now when I turn the phone on. it just appears the boot logo and later a black screen.
I can't restart the phone pressing the power button after some seconds but it goes to the boot image and later the black image screen (of the dead) appears.
1. I can't go to TWRP. (power+ Vol+)
2. I can't go to Fastboot. (power+ Vol-)
3. Charge Image is not displaying.
Windows sounds when i connected on the black screen state but fastboot don't.
This is my first time dealing with this kind of problem. I just don't know what would be the next step to try, Mi A1 is one of the best phones and I don't want to lose it.

I also had this issue I think it is because of any xposed modules or magisk modules.
When I flashed xposed uninstaller, the phone revived

I am not able to do that I can't go to twrp mode here also same black black screen.I can go to fastboot mode but I am not enabled usb debugging mode and system is not recognising mobile.
Help me how can I solve this..
Thanks in advance. ?
Install 'scrcpy' in your PC. Try to flash twrp from PC using fastboot and adb method. (I hope fastboot shows up on your phone) if u can boot to twrp via PC then go ahead and install any other rom. If u can't then connect your phone to PC and open scrcpy.exe here you can control your screen. (Most custom roms come with usb debugging enabled, if not try " AEX V.6.1 rom)
Usb debugging is compulsory. Thanks a lot for the information I will try this.
So i had this exact same issue. It was booting to twrp but screen was just blank.
i was trying to root the devive so i flashed the zip file by following command through adb
adb shell twrp install /sdcard/Magisk-v23.0.zip
it flashed the magisk and it was done. Similarly you can flash any zip file. If zip file is not copied to internal memory you can copy it using following command
adb push Magisk-v23.0.zip /sdcard/
I hope it helps someone in need.
Thanks.
Hi similar problem. Phone was locked in bootloop. I use reset pin and flash latest fw, flash successful in 220sec. Then screen stays black. Holding any combination will power up phone with black screen... wonder if it burn resistor or it is a flash issue. Trying to reflash again, however it stays 1000sec and still flashing.
Hi have mine FIXED.
Tried again to flash with android 9. Not able to finish flash in 4hrs. Then disconnect. Screen show battery 100%, then again only black screen but powered. Also 3 buttons are lighting. So I start pushing them and the screen, got some feedback and sound from touching the screen. Then the phone restart, screen ON. Show the normal white screen and ENCRYPTING storage screen that should come after flash. Then again reboot itself and start installing android (just taking a lot of time). Now all work on android 9, not giving option for OEM update to android 10, however afraid to flash again... good enough for my son (either way will break it in an year).
p.s
Im Samsung S class user for 10 years, so it is quite unfriendly phone... (need debugging on to connect to PC, for file transfer )
At last I found a way to run TWRP on tissot correctly without black screen.
Just install oreo 3.2.1-2 on Mi A1 (tissot).
This file (recovery-3.2.1-2-oreo.img) is working well.
Download it from this site:

Reference:

Download Android 13.00 unofficial ROM for Mi A1 and install it easily by TWRP oreo 3.2.1-2:

Good luck,
