I am looking for help on rooting my phone SM-G950U1.
I have been trying to follow tutorials online, but they all seem to require "OEM Unlock" in developer options. I do not have that option visible to me.

I have a note 8 so I'm unfamiliar with the s8 model numbers but I believe you have a US variant which unfortunately can't be rooted which is why you won't see the OEM toggle.

I am looking for some guidance on the most recent and up to date methods for
a. Unlocking the AT&T Galaxy Tab
b. Enabling Phone Capabilities on the Galaxy Tab
c. Rooting the Galaxy Tab
I'd also like to know the order the unlock must occur before or after enabling phone capabilities?
It's the same method that's listed in my sig.
And I carrier unlocked mine after flashing the various roms.
How did you carrier unlock?

Hello . Anybody in Chicago area will be able to help me with rooting ,unlocking, phone capabilities AT&T tab? My 1st Android, but AT&T limited what I can do with it. Very irritating.
I gave up after 3 weeks.

Hey guys, I have had limited experience with rooting. I have been looking for a way to root my i9506 without flashing it. I came across chain fires auto root. The only problem with this is that it says it can brick devices that are have a locked bootloader . I've tried to do some research on that but have yet to find a way that tells me if my i9506 is locked. Is anyone able to provide some extra info on how I check it?

It's not locked. Just go ahead and flash it.
OK thanks for the info, but how do you tell?
The only way to tell would be when you attempted to replace the bootloader, as the device would throw up a warning about tampering. However, unless you live in the United States and have a device from AT&T or Verizon, you have nothing to worry about. It's only the United States that has to worry about locked bootloaders and anti-competitive practices from the carriers who lock them.
Hello folks.
I have a question to you
In the developer options there is no oem unlock option visible.
Is this device unlocked by default or is this f.... option just hidden by samsung to make things harder dor the user. :silly:

First: Before making this thread, i looked at many post here, and its seems trough trial and error that what worked for other people with US version of the phone dont work for mine. SO with that in mind, i own my phone for 3 years now, its a canadian version of the galaxy s8, which is SM-G950W. The option for "OEM UNLOCK" dont show in dev option. I looked on the internet, and the solution seems to be about the 7 days blabla... found it was dumb since i have the phone for 3 years, but i gave it a shot, and it did nothing... my goal is to root my device any help about oem unlock OR a way to root it without oem unlock (which is impossible in my mind with a locked bootloader) would be very appreciate! thanks a lot.

No us or Canadian model have OEM unlock. There is no bootloader unlock. That's that no way around there is a system only root method if you look up extreme syndicate

Search for posts of Diamonds8 (e g. post #31).
Maybe it helps to root and then oem unlock.
