I own a Kindle 3G and did put the SIM card into a Samsung phone but SIM card tools do say that the telephone number is not stored on the card.
I can receive SMS from Covid-Government but in the SMS tools only the numer of the sender is shown (not my own numner).
Also "*135#" or "*#62#" do not work.
Is there any way to find out my Amazon telephone number?
A tablet phone number cannot be called. You could use a Mobile Device Management software to acquire such information though.

I am sure you used to be able to do it on the universal but now it seems I cant !!! does anyone know how !!!
I doubt you can send them, but you can enable tones in the phone control panel (I think it's there, but somewhere near there).
That just makes the phone keypad beep lyrical.

my old nokias can do it and so can my GF's samsung D500 !! a very useful option when using 3rd party dialers, I dont understand why this phone cant do it !!!
I always use this feature to send over the calling card PIN number and the destination number so even though I make an international call using phone card I do not need to puch the PIN etc manually. Just record the number into the contacts and use some delays. It works.

Click to collapse
I know what you mean but that means I need to change all the international numbers stored in my phone, it would be easier if I could just call the number and then choose the number out of my contacts and send tones !!!
i have the same issue. i use an international caller to dial out to america and on my nokia i would just send the tones of the numbers i wanted to dial. now i have to write them down so i can punch them back into the xda. shame
Assuming I understand your problem correctly, it sounds like the problem is with your calling card provider and not your phone. The Universal, like any other phone, ought to send DTMF tones through in-band audio -- pretty standard stuff. I've tested this with my calling card provider and I'm able to put in my PIN code through DTMF without any problem.
I think that what these guys are describing is the ability, whilst on a call, to say "Send DTMF" and then choose a number from your contacts. This way, you can store your calling card number in one phonebook entry and all your other contacts as normal, then you choose the calling card to dial and then "send" the number for the other contact. However, you usually need to append a "#" with these services and the number needs the international prefix (so USA becomes "001" instead of "+1"). I generally just store two numbers against each name - one normal and one with integrated calling card.
I don't think anyone is saying that they can't manually key in the number mid-call.
That's exactly right, Melty.
I just wondering is there any application that specifically created for using a calling card?
I imagine an application like this:
- Add a new calling card entry
- Set the calling card phone number
- Set the destination phone number
- Set wait (in seconds) to enter the destination phone number
Then, it works like an address book (contact list).
When you choose an entry, press "call", it will:
- Dial the calling card phone number
- Wait (in seconds)
- Automatically entered the destination phone number
Good eh?
Normally, after dialed the calling card phone number, we need to manually press the destination phone number manually.
I believe a lot of people are using calling card to dial overseas number, so this must be a good application!
You can create the above procedures with ',' (comma) on your phone number. Eg
- phone card tel: 1111111
- destination number: 222222
you will put in the phone number as 111111,22222
if it is too fast, just add more ',' to it.
try putting the letter p in between the numbers. more the no of p's more pause.
thats a nice solution, but add this to every international contact I have? I don't think so....
MagiCall can do it. Just set up an outgoing rule like this:
Rule type: Phone-Outbound
Filter type: Specific number
Phone#: +*
Action1: Change number
Call to: <calling card number>,,,,,<calling card pin>,,,,00{phone}[-1,0]#
The rule will filter outging numbers which have a leading + and change them into the international format.
You can read its user guide for detail information.

I used exchange 2010 and activesync, so i can send text message from outlook or owa. i can see a whole thread of texts between me and some one else, but it dose not display my name next to the message i sent, it dose if i sent it via outlook but not the phone. any way i need to know how to get sim manger to pick up my number or can i manually edit it, my exchange server cant pick my phone number up. so i look at sim manger and found that the issue is prob due to sim manger not displaying it. please can some one help
many thanks
Nick
Phone number is assigned from operator. Your sim contains only IMSI code and i'ts impossible retreive from phone.
You can set your phone number using sim manager:
go to sim manager menu->tools-> list your number (menu tools is not visible without gesture from down to up). In this option you can change number
If you receive an SMS from none German number, this SMS will not identified even if the contact is stored in the address book.
e.g if the number starts with 0049xxxx or +49xxxxx and a contact is there then it will be recognized -> means the name is shown above the message -> always.
When the sender has +31xxxx or 0031xxxx no chance at all, btw not only +31 basically all other country numbers then +49.
It also doesn't work if you create a new contact from the received SMS. Once the sender sends again it’s still not identified.
The phone is the German t-mobile branded version. ROM version 1.33.111.2
SPB shell 3.5 is installed. The same phone book is used on HTC Touch, HTC Diamond and Asus A3x0. none of them has an issue to identify numbers...
Thanks for help
