it doesnt offer Xvid or DivX support....but can u watch 700 MB downloaded movie files on it?
It all depends on the file format of the video you're trying to watch. To my knowledge, Mediascape is really only capable of opening H.264 formatted videos. So if you DL a movie in that format, sure it cane play it. Otherwise you need third-party software like yxFlash to play other formats of video, or you need to convert the videos to H.264 format using software like Handbrake.
As for ability to playback: I have ripped my Avatar DVD to H.264 at full DVD video size (720x464) and the 900+MB file has no problem playing beautifully.
Depends in what format are movies. Device can't play Divx an Xvid movies (playing is jerky). And there is no player capable of playing divx/xvid movies. But device can play mp4 movies and I can say that picture is great. I also have Avatar, but in 800*480 resolution. You must see that picture
Hello all I just got my E Pad and looking to load some movies onto it.
Can anyone tell me the best format to use for quality. I have an 8Gig Micro to use for videos. I also use DVDFab for converting.
Thanks

I'm wondering this as well. I've seen a few threads on here regarding 720p settings, but how about non-hidef? What would people recommend using? I copied some movies over to my TF when I first got it and the playback was horrible, regardless of what player I used.

Anything works for non-HD, just make sure you play it with something like Mobo Player, the default player doesn't support that many formats, nor does it play it as smoothly. In terms of HD, just look at the handbrake preset or install Mediainfo to check what profile your h264 video is at (Baseline, Main, High), it usually is Main/High. If it is 720p High, you may try playing it, but anything with more than 3 reference frames will lag.
something weard is i converted some movies they play but only at 2x they fly through.

I had this issue too. The file was an MP4 H.264 encoded file but the audio codec was not in stereo.
I re-encoded the movie using AVS Video Converter with these settings:
Frame Size: 1280x 720 (depending on movie format)
Video Codec: H.264/AVC
Frame rate: 24fps or match source video
Bitrate: 1500KBs video
Video Advanced: Multi-pass (first pass fast)
Audio Codec: MPEG-2/4 Audio 192KBS Stereo not 5.1
File type: MP4 PSP
With these settings, high def videos play awesome on my Transformer both on stock player and Rock Player with hardware decoding setting.
Has anyone had any luck in playing H265 on their Nexus Player?
I am using the stock ROM with KODI 14.2rc and H265 content is unwatchable. I thought I'd ask around here before trying the Lollipop ROM and other versions of KODI in case this was a known issue.
is it the x86 build of kodi? because only the x86 build will play h.265/hevc., the arm build just can't (the same goes for h.264). oh - and you'll need to be using software decoding, not hardware decoding.
i've been able to play hevc completely fine on my np. i'm running 14.1 x86 stable.
Few media players online can afford H.265 directly. You'd better encode H.265 into H.264 mp4 first so that you can play the videos.
Works for me
I just tried an H.265 video on my stock NP today using Kodi Isengard (15.2). Worked great!
MX Player works. I recommend you google to download the all in one codec zip file to use with it.
Hello guys!
I have a Sony W808c Android TV and I'm trying to find a 3D capable video player even if its not specially made for AndroidTV.
With Air Share/Launch I installed aDownloader an BitX torrent apps and they work great. Unfortunately MX player and VLC play the 3D movies side by side and the TV is not recognizing it as a 3D signal.
Tried 3DVPlayer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vstar3d.player but it's just able to overlap them as a 2D video or play 3D analygraph.
In Youtube I have found a lot of 3D videos that play nicely with my Samsung active glasses.
It plays 1080p but at the same time it lags audio and video. I usex player and vlc to play, in mx player the video played but does not syncronize with audio and video also get lags and in vlc the video does not play.
What is the solution to play 1080p smoothly?
Try an app called kodi
