I'm looking at purchasing an Android for my 2012 Toyota Aurion ZR6.
So far these two stands out for me in terms of specs and feature wise. Both are Octa cores with 4gb ram with a storage capacity of 64GB & offer near identical features as well in regards to wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Play Store support, YouTube, Bluetooth, Google Maps…etc
Anyone here have experiences with either brand? Which oit of the two would you guys recommend to get?
Also I haven't used Ali Express before, are they reliable and do they ship to Australia? Ditto to Joying too?

You will want to go for the Dasaita head unit but double-check so it's MCU starts with "MTCE". Why? Because then you'll be able to install the custom firmware from Malaysk - which will greatly improve your user experience.

I am in the market for a Android head unit for my 325xi but need to get some Intel on these units. It seems that Joying navall avin n pumpkin are my options. They all seem very similar and packed with awesome features. Are they all made by the same company and rebranded to sell? What's my best option here? Are there any advantages from one to the next? I just need a fast versatile head unit for Bluetooth streaming 3g and nav/Google maps with internal storage option and nice UI
Most of them are made by the same company and then are resold under separate reseller names though I have noticed a few differences between the JOYING and Pumpkin units in terms of design and options.
If you're going for a unit look for either 2gb Intel units or for 2gb octacore units. You will find the 1gb units very frustrating to use in my experience as I have recently just moved from a 1gb MTCC unit to a 2gb Intel Sofia Head Unit.

Thanks so much for the Intel. I'll make sure to get one like you suggested. Leaning towards joying at the moment. Still got some research to do and MB some more people will chime in here

So I think I'm going to go with the new Joying Sofia

But how come no disc drive?
Some form of hardware incompatibility I would assume as it says the buttons won't work so maybe the MCU won't pick up that the buttons have been pressed due to the way they have be routed. Which in turn means you won't be able to remove discs from the player.
No way to confirm this. You would have to ask the seller themselves as to why that is the case and get a verified answer rather than my assumption.
Hi,
I currently have a Joying JY-VQ125 RK3188 MTCB head unit with 1GB RAM and the really old Android version 4.4.4. Due to more and more issues with apps/speed/etc. I decided to upgrade my old unit to a newer one.
As far as I understood there are more or less two options. An unit with Rockchip PX5/PX6 processer or a Joying unit with the Intel SC9853i.
Are there any suggestions which specific model from which reseller to buy?
I'm looking for a model which has a preferably up-to-date android version and hopefully gets some updates in the future (not like my old Joying). It should look similar to original VW ones (like my old Joying), it should be stable and of course a bit faster / more usable than my old one. I'm connecting it via cinch to my external amplifier, internet is provided via an hotspot at my smartphone.
Looking forward to some opinions.
Thanks,

I purchased a PX6 from Xtrons 10.25" 2.5D screen.
4gb+64gb on Android 9.
This is my 3rd unit I've purchased direct from Xtrons website and all 3 are still working perfectly. They do also sell a good variety of vehicle specific units. It is a MTCE unit. Also has dvd player built in. It's all a matter of personal choice. I buy from these as I've had problem free use out of them.

Thanks for your reply!
Xtrons looks good, unfortunately they are also more expensive than similar HUs from other resellers/manufacturers.
Is there any huge difference between the Rockchip PX5 and the PX6 processor? In performance, future update support or anything else?
Are there any huge advantages of the Intel SC9853i processor? I assume the Joying HUs will stuck on Android 8.1 and won't get any further updates...
I've now found a head unit with good-looking specs and also a good price (~250€ with current discount). The reseller is Eunavi and the model is A240: https://aliexpress.com/item/4000418570621.html
Is there anything I overlooked?
A few days ago I ordered the Eunavi which I linked above. Unfortunately the reseller told me now that they don't have this unit in stock.
Now I'm looking for a unit with similar specifications. These are:
PX6 CPU
4GB RAM
8" display
DSP AKM7738
Amplifier TDA7803A
Radio chip NXP6686
Does anybody know a head unit with this specs?
The Xtrons PQ89UNVIP basically looks good, but doesn't have a DSP, has the TDA7851 and not the TDA7803A amplifier chip and is much more expensive...
Hello there,
Since I'm limited to size for my Audi A4 B6 2003 model i decided to go with a 1DIN motorized flip-out unit.
I've started to look some devices in this category and the Xtrons P710P caught my eye but later I found out that there are at least 3 more brands that sell this format and exactly the same front design with various specs.
The mentioned Xtronx unit uses an A35 CPU for which I dont know the frecvency yet however, the competition, Eunavi model WX7088 sells the same unit but with an A53 CPU for a 100$ less. Heck, for the same price as Xtrons I could get 4GBRAM and Octacore but do I really need that much power if the CPU is older then the A35?
So im wondering should I go for the cheaper version Eunavi that uses an older CPU from 2011 or with Xtrons for the newer CPU that came out in 2015. I really dont want to meet a laggy unit.
Cons for Xtrons is also a nice website with some info, customer support and accessories while Eunavi wins hands down on aliexpress orders and weirdly, on customer satisfaction.
Looking for anyone interested in giving me some headsup.
I have a 2014 Prius where I am looking to install a head unit like this from Amazon. However, my main concern is that this specific head unit has only a PX5 (which I believe is an older CPU), 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of ROM storage. and will only support up to Android 10 (no Android 11 support). However, this unit (according to the seller) also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for an additional fee (which is only an extra $40).
On the other hand, I have come across these head units on Aliexpress like this where they are running the PX6, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of ROM storage. However, my main concern here is I live in the United States, and I have never purchased stuff from Aliexpress, so I am not entirely sure how "safe" it is purchasing it from Aliexpress compared to Amazon, where if something were to happen with the item or any kind of issue arises, I know Amazon customer service is a lot more easier to contact. At the end of the day, I think both units add up to the same price with the added CarPlay option (excluding tax of course).
My understanding however is that both of these units are pretty much built from the same factory in China and just the seller throwing on a brand to the unit. Therefore, I wanted to ask, should I just play it safe and purchase the unit from Amazon even if it has lower specs compared to the ones on Aliexpress? Or are the units I shared from Aliexpress a lot more faster/speedier and would be worth purchasing through Aliexpress? The main reason why I am looking at these units are because it would look nearly identical to the head unit already on my car and would even have physical buttons which I would like.
I am open to any comments and feedback!
Hey folks
A few years ago I was following PX6-based head units here and a few reputable Aliexpress sellers seemed to be the go-to. Now it seems PX6 are still regularly discussed but I can't find mention of anything newer - could someone confirm for me if there is a better specced SoC that has become the new norm for these chinese manufactured units, and who is selling them? Or are PX6 based units still the best on the market? My primary concerns are stability and responsiveness, hence wanting a well supported, mature product that is known to either have a good ROM from the factory or support for one of the ROMs the legends here on XDA have put together.
FWIW, I am after either a standard double-DIN unit or double-DIN with oversized display.
Cheers!

There are a lot resellers of PX6 units. I self bought a Teyes CC3 with a new CPU. The competitors of Teyes are King beats and Joying who uses also the new octa core cpu. The Teyes and King beats radios are quite thin so they fit in almost any car (if your car is supported with Oem panels for in the dashboard) Teyes and King beats are popular in Russia and Malaysia. There are no dealers in Europe or the US, but i hope they can find a dealer in Europe because i bought the radio now on Alibaba.
