Warp Charging compatibility? - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

So like I would like to get a Anker Power Brick that has 4 ports total one being a 30W Power Delivery Port and others being USB-A ports.
If I buy a cable that can support 65W Warp Charging for the 8T, will it support 30W Warp Charging for the 8 Pro?
Is there any alternatives to fast charging like this?
I have some people telling me it will charge slowly and some people telling me it will charge at 15W which has confused me.
Thanks!

QuickCharge vs USB-C charging?

Hello,
Has anyone compared charging times between QuickCharge charger and using a USB-C to USB-C cable charger?
The reason I ask, is because QuickCharge doesn't seem to be all that fast. Plus, when I had my Nexus 6p on the charger using straight USB-C, it seemed to charge really fast. Wondering if I should use my Nexus USB-C charger or not.
The s8 doesn't really support usb-c power delivery, it has its own adaptive charging running at 15watts(9v*1.67v). You will probably get around 10 watts tops using any other charging method.

compatible charger

OK.... so i wanna know is it bad if i charge this phone with samsung adaptive charger ? and what about AUKEY USB-C Car Charger with 5V/3A USB C & Quick Charge 3.0?
My another problem is when i use oem charger my phone getting really hot like the back panel 110 degrees till almost 90% and then start cooling down, but i dont have this problem with samsung charger and my phone still charge pretty quick.
is anyone has the same situation?
The phone uses USB-C power delivery for charge spec. QC3 chargers don't work at all on my PH-1, seriously charges at .5amps. You're fine to use the Samsung charger or any other adaptive charger like Ankar power port chargers, they work fine.
Not sure about your phone getting hot using the stock charger though, mine doesn't do that.

So the phone will charge with an old USB Type-A charger and a Type-A to Type-C cable? What if it's not a QC3 charger like my Anker PowerDrive 2? I've read that some peoples phones charge slower than it uses power when using older chargers, but then some people say they charge ok, slower, but not that slow.

Yeah the power port chargers work just fine. Just not QC3 chargers, in my experience.

Fast charging power banks?

Hey there, i'm, trying to find any power banks compatible with samsung's adaptive fast charging to use with my S9+. Are there any available? If so, are they worth it?
Thanks
I bought this directly from Samsung for $16 and it does fast charge on my S9+ but it is now out of stock: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...-10ah-with-usb-c-cable-silver-eb-p1100csegus/

Shame, that's exactly what I needed. Can't find it anywhere sadly.
Any power bank that offer either Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 or USB Power Delivery through USB Type C should work. The S9/S9+ will draw 1.67A @ 9V over QC and 3A @ 5V over USB-PD via Type C and therefore fast charge at 15W (which is its limit).
These should work, though I've not tried these myself.
Anker PowerCore Speed 20000mAh offers USB-PD but not QC, though the standard USB port offers 2A @ 5V, so while not fast charging it charges at 10W from the standard port (15W from the USB-PD port for the S9+).
Charmast 10400mAh Powr Bank offers both QC3 and USB-PD.
I have an Anker power bank (non-PD), and an Aukey wall charger so can recommend those brands in general terms from my personal experience.
Xiaomi 20,000 power bank supports fast charging as well on S9 plus.
This is available now: https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...-10ah-with-usb-c-cable-silver-eb-p1100csegus/

I have the same powerbank and it works like a charm.
One note: you can charge the phone using quickcharge from the powerbank but you can also use the phone's charger to quickcharge the powerbank

Can't get Fast Charge to work with Power Banks
I've bought 2 different QC power banks:
AIDEAZ Power Bank 20000mAh Portable Charger
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07GJHNRK9/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_8697Cb90CYK1E
iWALK Wireless Portable Charger 10000mah Power Bank
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07FMVRD6K/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_E897CbKW2P4PD
I also own
Anker Powercore Speed 10000 QC, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Portable Charger
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01JIYWUBA/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_Q997Cb1HQ367J
NONE of them fast charge my S9+ even though when I use the wall charger it fast charges. I even have a USB power meter to confirm that these power banks are only inputting 5V 1A.
SO FRUSTRATING!

And you can simultaneously charge your phone from the powerbank AND charge the powerbank from the phone's charger

Hey that is very weird especially since you say that your dev iui ce fast charges when it is plugged into a wall adapter. I have 2 powerbanks, one Mi Powerbank 2i 10000 mAh and the other is a Samsung Fast Wireless Charger 10000 mAh and both are capable of charging my S9+ at 15W

Fastest Quick Charger for V35 - Via USB-PD or Quick Charge 3/4

So I'm trying to figure out whats the fastest charging method for the lg v35 available so i can buy a new charger with that capability. Anyone have any ideas what that would be?
For USBC i'm looking at 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/3A , which of these usb pd options would it work with? Also is this phone a QC 3 or 4 capable phone? Thanks
Trying to see if this would increase my charging speeds:

My old Nexus 6 quick charge brick does nicely with a usb a/c cable
LG v35 is QC 3.0.
Neither or my Google PD chargers for my previous Nexus 6P will fast charge my LG v35, but my Huawei MediaPad M5 charger (FCP --> 18 watts) will. I think QC3 is a little more watts, like 22 so I'd get slightly faster charging w/QC 3 charger. Would really like to identify a charger that will fast charge across QC3, FCP, and PD. Not sure that Monoprice one will.
This device does PD up to 65 watts plus two 2.4amp us ports and also has one QC3 port. I love it.

Charging Oneplus with QC 4.0 or any other standard apart WARP

If I charge Oneplus 8 pro with lets say Car Charger with supported standards PD 3.0/QC 4.0/ QC 3.0/ AFC , is there a downside? Or just slow charging speed?
And, is there a downside if I need to charge my phone at work for example to take notebook USB Type C charger and plug in... (again apart of slow charge)

The rate of charge just be slower, otherwise no problems, no.
I just got the 8 pro yesterday, IN2025. From what I've read and i just tested your charging speed will be better w/ PD as the phone does not support QC anything and just treats as it regular charging.
I tested the charging at ~70%.
USB PD, 4.2V/1.8A - 2A
QC 3.0 4.2V/1..2A
Warp Charging, 4.2V/4.8A
Warp with regular cable, 4.2V/1.2A
Regular charging 4.2V/1.2A
Hope that helps
okay so my previous phone was a PD 3.0, I have a bunch of charger that are 3.0 which support up to 65W. What would it do with the OnePlus 8 Pro. will it be limited to 35W or will it go higher?
Always limited by the phone max specs.
so in that case I should still get the 30W from a PD 3.0 charger to the OnePlus 8 Pro?
Cause I don't want to spend $50 for a Warp Charge Car adapter specially if my PD 3.0 charger can provide the same amount of wattage

No, you will not get 30W from your PD charger, it will max out at 15W.
OnePlus only supports PD at 5V, likely because Dash charge only uses 5V. PD caps out at 3A for 5V, so 15W. PD achieves higher wattages by increasing the voltage rather than increasing the amperage like Dash Charge (hence why PD cables are generally thinner than Dash charge ones).

So in your case all chargers give less than required charging voltage?! AFAIK, only dash/vooc charges at battaries max voltage. others supply 5v. check your data
