Hi guys!
I have a Redmi Note 7 with Pixel Experience Plus 11.0, i use two users and only in one of these i have Whatsapp and in the other user i have all my data... Is it possible to "share" an app, in this case Whatsapp, between two users because they were seen as a two different devices so if i install it in both user i can only use my number/account in one of them, and another question, is it possible to "share" files in a sdcard between users? Because the sdcard is seen only in the admin user and in the other not.

I'm sure everyone here uses and loves the multi users feature. It gives a true independent workspace for each user, however it's not always fascinating.
While the apps need to be downloaded in each profile, the main issue is about locally stored data.
For instance, I want to share some pictures that I have in my gallery with my wife on the same device but can't figure out how to do it.
Would appreciate if anyone can share a solution to be able to share local files with another user profile

Well the apps actually are NOT downloaded for each user. Only one copy is used by both.
Have to think about intentionally sharing pictures. I am sure Google Drive would work - but that is overkill, and you might wind up with two copies...
sharing of local files is the main issue

Nope, I have no use for multi-user on the N7 or any tab. To me, a tablet is a personal device, just like a phone. I have no need for multi-user on a Nexus 4 either, it's pointless.
Because storage is limited on the Google Nexus devices (discounting usb) both my wife and I have our own. Each is setup for our personal preferences and taste. If we want to share data, it's easily copied, or shared with Google drive, dropbox whatever.
We are both remaining on JB 4.1.2 and have no immediate plans to update.
Hello,
Here's the story, I got a Nexus 7 time ago for the family, created 3 multi users myself being the main account, Nexus 2013 came out so I decided to buy it for my personal use. Now, I want to delete my 'Primary Account' off the N7 and give the privileges to the Second user.
I'd like to know if there is anyway I can do this, be it hard reset etc, but I want to be able to restore data.
Many thanks.
Bump, any idea?
Hi Guys,
I have LG G Watch and iPhone 6. I was using my watch with my Android phone (LG G2) and it worked perfectly. I downloaded lots of apps, even paid ones, watchfaces etc.
However, for some reasons, I now have to use an iOS device. I read quite a lot of threads on this topic, but still it is not clear for me. Can I add apps to the watch (sideload) while connected to an iPhone? I mean mostly (at least) apps which do not need an androdi device - calculators, calendars, spending trackers, etc? Games? Will any of these below work:
1. I read how to connect another phone without factory reset - by deleting a specific app's data. Will this work and keep my apps, allowing me to connect to my iPhone?
2. Sideloading the apps somehow with APK files, through USB on my LG G Watch?
3. Keeping the watch synched with the Android phone just to keep the apps on it, but at the same time connected to the iPhone with some third party app?
Will be grateful for any ideas you may have.
Thanks!

Hi ,
Well while most of the questions you have asked are already answered i recommend you refer to the below thread which will answer point 2 & 3 specifically and the 1st point to an extent (indirectly)

This will definitely help you
Thanks neivvv. I found this topic, but there is a bit too much to go through It was started before the Wear for iOS was introduced in the AppStore and I am not sure where the discussion starts for the current conditions. Do not take me wrong, I am not lazy at all, I am just interested in lots of things and click on different links on the replies, browse other pages and it may take ages. However, it seems very interesting and I will go through it. Thanks
Hello everybody, I have sold my pixel 3, but I will get my pixel 4 at the end of the week. How can I migrate my apps + settings as completely as possible? Does the Google-Drive-Backup do anything for me? 3rd party apps? Pixel 3 is not unlocked and not rooted, Pixel 4 will not be either.
Thanks!
Jens

You could try something like Swift Backup, I use it quite often and seems to work well
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.swiftapps.swiftbackup
It should be same thing as a factory reset.
You will have to select the last backup made by you, and that backup will contains list of app to be installed, wifi networks, sms, wallpaper, some app settings (like Pixel launcher, with your icon locations), etc.
As for the "files" I recommend to copy them to a PC, clean what you don't need, and then copy back to the Pixel 4.

If you can hold off on sending the P3 to the buyer that would be your best option. You connect the two devices and almost everything, including text, pics etc. are copied to the new device. If you can't do that then Google backup is kind of ok. You'll get a bunch of stuff but not text messages and a few other settings. There you can use sms backup or some other program. Good suggestion copying stuff you want to your computer too just in case. Logins and passwords are not copied over in either case, you'll need to set those up again or use autofill. I also sold my P3 but had transferred everything over to my 3a for DSDS. I'll have the P4 next week and will then sell the 3a or keep it as a backup device depending on what I can get for it. Good luck, I think you made a good decision but we'll find out soon enough.
Hello,
Thinking about getting the OnePlus 8 pro
So far I've used Samsung or Huawei Phones, and they both have a feature I really love the SecureFolder on Samsung phone and the HiddenSpace on Huawei Phones.
It's just like having 2 phones in one, so I can use it both as a work phone and a personal without mixing anything between the two.
Does the OnePlus phones have something similar?
I'm not looking for and app, Iv'e tried dual space and similar apps.
they just make cloned apps, but I'm looking for a total and discrete separation between the two "users"
different contacts, files, apps, everything
Thanks,

No
You have the option to secure files or foto's through stock file manager app or stock gallery, or to lock a specific app with encryption..( fp, pattern etc)
I might be entirely wrong about this one, but I think we can create a "locked" work profile on the phone using apps like Island to create it, and keep that part of the phone encrypted. It should be possible to keep that partition secured with a separate pass code. Not as convenient as "SecureFolder", but might be enough.

That's pretty much what Island and that type of apps do. They create another user with ID 999 so the apps on it can be heltd separated from the "normal" ones. Afaik there is no built in separate user space in android, other than work space capabilities. If Island doesn't work well for you there might be other apps of the same type, perhaps Shelter works better (I don't know, Iäm not using apps like it myself).
