Hello,
I have recently purchased a 12.3 android unit and got round to installing it the other day.
Everything works on the unit the only problem I seem to be having is a timed cut off on the android unit of the old ccc.
The ccc menu will only power on the android side when the old power plug is connected to the old screen. I can remove the power from the old screen and it will still run on the android side for a short amount of time before doing the same. I have to connect the old power plug back to old screen for it to load up on the android side.
Hope this makes sense
Any help would be much appreciated
So exactly, when you unplug the old headunit. The new one stays on then turns off
Yes the ccc menu goes off on the new android unit after 10 minutes every thing else stays on, on the android side. Only when I plug back the power to the old bmw screen and unplug again it then shows the ccc menu for another short amount of time.
I would hazard a guess that there is a wire to switch on the CCC unit from the original screen so connect it to your remote output wire or amp turn on

Hello ,
I bought this head unit to fit into my Audi A3, bought the fitting cage and wiring harness for the amplified rear Audio. Connected it up and it’s was all fine besides some questionable sound quality and then the next time I switched it on I was met with a blank screen. It’ll beep when I reconnect the power but that’s about it.
I was advised to load the boot menu by holding reset and power for 5 seconds then releasing reset followed by power which gave me three beeps but no boot menu! I also tried disconnecting my car battery to reset everything but it made no difference, it still won’t boot back up.
Has anyone come across this before? Is this an issue with the unit or could it not be getting the power it needs? I’m in desperate need of some help, any advice at all would be a massive help!
Thanks!
Darren
Hi,
I've bought a new Head Unit, and I wired everything on the car.
It's working like a charm, but, there a big but.
The Head Unit which should go to sleep / deep sleep or whatever when I remove my car key after 30 seconds, stays on.
For the time being I've unpluger the ACC cable (the red wire) so that the Head Unit only receives power when the car key is plugged in.
Do you know why am I facing this Issue and how to resolve it ? I had hope to enjoy a fast boot and not a full boot everytime I use my car.. it would be nice
I have another question also, if you know about it, I'm trying to get the light buttons always on, because they're not very visible to me. Si I went to the special menu (with the 126 code) and tried changing the parameter "Power LED control" to "By Power" instead of "By head light" but they still won't turn on unless head light is on. Am I missing something ?
I'm not sure what head unit you have but a) what is your amp wire from the head unit connected to? B) there's is usually an illumination wire, what is that connected to?

Also do not know what head unit you have but it sounds like it is not wired up correctly.
If you dont get much help on these forums maybe go visit an auto electrician as they should be able to advise further.
So my Android 9 HU can only be powered on when either the engine is running or ignition is in ACC mode. The problem is that my car automatically exists ACC mode after 4min which means I can't really use the HU with engine off for longer than that. Is there any way to make such a unit work in ACC off mode?
You could tie the red and yellow wires together and connect them to the wire that always has power on but check the size of the fuse on that line it should be bigger than what's on the HU. Better yet and if the line can't support the power needed just run a new wire straight off the battery positive and make sure to add a fuse near the battery. Now if your car has shunt and a bunch of wires coming off the battery that means it monitors the battery and can cut current from it (called load shed). I'm not sure how it's going to react but worst case it will detect an error and turn the engine light on.
If you put it to constant power it will never switch off, as those units do not have an on/off switch, and will drain your battery in 2-3 days.
If you connect both head unit wires to the cars contant power you need to make a switch or so in the head unit ACC wire. So you can actively switch it to sleep mode.
Hello. Recently I have bought 8227l 8" Android 8.1 head unit from Aliexpress, installed it using provided adapters and everything works fine but the head unit won't turn off when I pull out the key. When I turn it off with phisical power button, something like Always On screen with time and date shows and button lights is still on. As I can understand powering of the head unit is controlled via canbus decoder. But when I plug out canbus decoder nothing defferent happens, only radio doesn't show car parameters like fuel consumption, rpm, milleage etc. Can someone help me? Is it something wrong with wiring?
What does the reseller suggest?
turn off head unit
So i give you my experience with my head unit, when i activate wifi and turn off the light key stuck on after when i dactivate wifi of the head unit and turn it off the lights turn off

There are two type of +12v, one is permanent and another one is from Acc key, you may have switch that, try to look into that.

There is a mini connector on the main cable. If you detach it, unit will shut down when key is removed.
Did anyone figure out a solution for this
I recently installed an Android Head unit in my 2012 BMW 128. I have the HiFi non HK stereo.
Sound works fine. Steering wheel controls also work (set for an E90 to match the canbus decoder that was included. There is no option for E82)
GPS/WiFi, etc all work as expected.
The issue I'm having is that when I shut the car off and lock it, it never goes to sleep. Normally it takes 15-20 minutes for it to finish all the checks and enter sleep mode but with the power connected to the Android unit, that process never stops. I've waited hours and came back to it still making noises, the start button periodically lighting up, etc.
If I disconnect the power cable to the head unit/canbus controller, the car goes to sleep as expected. I have gone into the factory settings and disabled sleep mode which causes the stereo to have to boot when you start the car but that also didn't resolve the issue.
I have not connected the extra yellow cable to the fuse panel - I understand that's for clock/radio presets but those are not of concern at the moment.
I can't find any settings on the head unit that would be causing this. The yellow power appears to flow through the canbus controller to the head unit because if you disconnect the canbus controller the head unit will not power on so I tend to think it's likely the canbus controller that's the culprit.
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and how they resolved it?
Connected the yellow cable to the power for the 12v outlet and the car goes to sleep as expected.
Bumping my own old thread.
Connected to fuse #2 in the panel and the car would sleep and the stereo retains clock, etc but I get a battery drain warning.
Went back to 12v outlet and no more battery drain but it cold boots every time I start the car.
If anyone stumbles across this and has a solution please let me know!
