[Q] Can't root propely

I followed this tread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1046605)
and did it fine, it wrote me that everything go well,
but when i checked my phone with the "Root Check" application it told me i dont have a root on my phone..
i did it a lot of times and it allways write this error:
"Alternate su binary location:
/sbin/su: permission denied
SU binary not found in the system declared PATH".
So?.. what's the problem? The Super one click's test writes everything is good...
Thanks =]
Maybe you should try the newest version of SuperOneClick..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
I have already tried this and it works!
Its not the problem..
I already tried to do the guide with the newest version..

Lucky you i still have tutorial made by someone called Gabeyong or something
Step 1: Root your Xperia X8
- download and unzip SuperOneClickv1.7-ShortFuse to PC Desktop
- connect Xperia X8 to PC (Do not mount)
- on your phone <goto><setting><applications> select <unknown sources>
- on your phone <goto><settings><applications><development> select <usb debugging>
- Launch SuperOneClick -> click <Root>
- you will see - <not successful - is your phone software higher than 2.0?>
- click <yes> and then <success> & <test su> message
NOTE:
If you are successful in ROOTING your phone - SuperUser app will be installed to your Xperia X8.
If you are not successful:-
(a) check your PC <devices><usb> to see if your phone is recognized by your PC (troubleshoot PC driver problem)
(b) <usb debugging> in your Xperia X8 phone settings enabled?
Then <Launch> <SuperOneClick> and try again.
[if you don't have a file manager on your phone]
Install <Astro File Manager> from Android Market
Step 2: Mount Xperia X8 (to access SD Card)
- copy <Root.Explorer.v2.14.2.apk> to root of SD Card
- using PC create folder <xRecovery> and unzip xRecovery0.1.rar
- put the 3 files into the xRecovery folder you've created
- copy the xRecovery folder to root of SD Card
Step 3: UnMount Xperia X8 from PC
Step 4: Launch <Astro> Install <Root Explorer v2.14.2.apk>
Step 5: Copy xRecovery files to </system/bin> of your phone
- Launch <Root Explorer>
- scroll down to /sdcard <click to access>
- scroll down to xRecovery folder <click to access>
- Select each of the 3 files (one by one) <click & hold><copy>
- <click> parent folder (twice)
- scroll down to <click to access><system>
- <click to access><bin> and <click><Mount R/W>
- press <paste> button
Click to collapse
hope it might help
still not working..
Maybe it works but the "root check" application doesnt work?
The root check of the "super one click" says i have root...
have u tried this one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117100
This SuperOneClick definitely works.
Before rooting, you must have PC copmanion installed. Because of the drivers.
Reinstall with SEUS and try again if it doesn't work.
Try this, it worked fine for me:
when you have klicked "root" in SuperOneClick, DON´T plug your phone until it says "waiting for device", and before you plug it, make sure the things mentioned above are enabled.
PS:
If you think there´s something wrong with the root-test-application, download the Terminal Emulator from the market and type in "su".
When it says:
"permission denied" you don´t have root, and if you have root, the $ symbol will change into #
Don't forget to reboot phone after rooting

[MOD] PowerOn.mp3 for stock roms

Root Only
Well for some of you who are using stock roms and want to disable boot sound this is a file for you guys.
The reason I provided this is because that when you delete PowerOn.mp3, your "media sound" settings would be reset, and for me it's quite annoying.
Here is the .mp3 file
Steps to install:
1. Grab a root-enabled file manager that you can access /system and mount system as read-write.
2. Navigate to system/sounds/lgeSOUNDs)
3. Copy and paste file
4. Set/Tick permissions to
Owner - read and write
Group - read
Others - read
5. Reboot your phone.

Problem with my X5 u8800-51 -> reboot looping

Hi people, I have a problem with my phone, I tried to flash it with MIUI 1.12.16 and it seems that something doesn't works because my X5 is rebooting all the time. I follow this tutorial in spanish (http://www.mobilecloseup.com/foro/showthread.php?t=949447) but I will translate it here:
1. First of all download this *.rar http://www.wupload.com/file/2650874587/U8800-51_a_Gingerbread-MIUI.rar which contains 5 folders: dload, MIUI 1.12.16 Multi lenguaje (multilanguage), Recovery Alternativo (CWM 5.0.2.7) [or alternative Recovery], Recovery Original (2.2) and Root para Gingerbread.
2. Format SD card and backup everything.
3. Copy to SD card the "dload" folder and the MIUI zip file which is into the "MIUI 1.12.16 Multi lenguaje" folder of *.rar.
4. Turn off the phone, then push at the same time the two buttons of volume and the on/off button to enter to bootloader mode (pink screen).
5. Inside the new disk unit opened in Windows, copy recovery.img file which is into "Recovery Original (2.2)" of the *.rar into the image folder, just in case if you change original recovery in replace of the clockworkmod one.
6. Extract safely disk unit, take off battery, put again into phone and turn on.
7. Then go to settings, SD & Storage and choose SD update, then accept everything and phone will flash the update to Gingerbread, will reboot during some time and after 5-10 minutos will reboot for the last time.
8. Now you have your phone with Gingerbread 2.3.5 stock, but the aim is to flash MIUI, so the next step is to go to Settings, then Applications and disable quick boot option.
(everything OK until this step... problems started since this point)
9. Erase dload folder from SD card and turn off the phone.
10. Push two volume buttons + on/off button at the same time again to enter to bootlander, then open image folder into the new disk unit and copy to a safe place the boot.img file to backup it, then copy the boot-room.img file which is into the "Root para Gingerbread" folder of *.rar to the image folder and rename it to boot.img, then extract device, take off battery, put again into phone and turn on as usual.
11. You will realize that your phone will be rooted. Now turn off again and do the same procedure but copying into image folder the boot.img file that you backed, also backup the recovery.img file which is into image folder and replace it with recovery.img file which is into "Recovery alternativo" folder of *.rar.
12. Reboot your phone and then turn it off, then push at the same time volume on button + on/off button to access recovery.
13. Just optional: You can backup ROM Stock in Backup option.
14. Choose Wipe Data & Factory Settings, then Mounts & Storage and select format /system.
15. Choose flash zip from sdcard and select from SD Card MIUI *.zip folder that you copied at the very first step.
16. Tap yes and MIUI will be flashed.
I attached some screenshots of what I have in my image folder from bootlander. This is the problem. As I said, my phone is rebooting all the time since I turned on and there is nothing that I can do I finished at the 16th step, please I need your help. If you need more info please ask here, I don't know if I can show you more details because I cannot turn on my phone.
Thanks in advance.
