First, I did search before hand, but searching for AT&T returns nothing. I'm guessing it has to do with the "&" symbol. Anyway....
I just gave up waiting for Verizon and picked up the AT&T version of the Nexus One.
I'm one of those people that managed to brick his HTC Magic when trying to switch back and forth between radios, so I guess I'm a little bit leery now.
What I'd like to know is if anyone has determined if the ROMs posted here (mainly Cyanogens ) are compatible with the AT&T Nexus One. I realise that they are just different GSM frequencies, but I just want to confirm that I won't be creating another $600 brick.
I'd also like to confirm that I don't need to switch radios, since thats where I got burned last time, and I'm guessing that most, if not all the radios available, would brick my phone.
There have been a lot of posts about cyanogenmod working without and problems on the ATT Nexus. There are no special procedures to take, just follow the cyanogen wiki here and you will be rooted and running CM in no time
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Full_Update_Guide_-_Nexus_One_Firmware_to_CyanogenMod
You will NOT have to upgrade or change your radio, so don't worry about that. You will need to unlock the boot loader (which WILL void your warranty), but its literally a one line command, zero chance of bricking there.
From there you will install the AmonRA recovery, and then flash your phone with the current cyanogen. low low low chance of bricking as long as you follow the guide, and are aware of what you are doing.
Good luck!
Next time make sure you post in the correct place. Q&A.
Check the CyanogenMOD thread. He has a link to his wiki with a FAQ page that will answer your question. Also read his instructions to install his ROM and you'll be fine. Just be careful when flashing radio's.
I'm on ATT and I run enomthers rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614427
It will run on the as shipped radio and runs very good (stable)
I switched from the T-mobile nexus to the AT&T nexus. Both behave exactly the same when it comes to unlocking, custom roms, themes, etc.
The only difference is that the ATT version doesn't have a bunch of radio updates floating around (the default radio is fine).
Thanks to all
Thanks to all who commented. Its nice to get an answer so quickly.
As for posting in the right forum, this is an argument that has been had on other forums before (not by me) so I won't rehash any more then this:
By many (and thats enough to cause confusion), General is seen as general discussion, Q&A is seen as general questions, Accessories is clear, themes and apps is clear, development is seen for modding. Its where ROMs are discussed and distributed. I had a question about modding my phone. I posted in the most logical place.
None the less, thank you again for constructively "correcting" me.
gf is getting a galaxy tab from telstra, now i was wondering if these can be flashed to debrand them of the telstra software to make the software as it was from samsung or if its possible to root it and install newer android os such as 3.0 ?
which version of the tab do telstra use? the current is 10.1 right?
I have now flashed my Optus SGT several times with various ROMs, and I am sure that the Telstra Tabs can also be done successfully. However, unless you are already very comfortable with this process, I would recommend a lot of reading in this forum before trying anything like you want to do.
I have found this forum to be a mine of information on the topic, and there is a very good starting guide in the Galaxy Tab Android Developers Forum - [REF] ***Galaxy Tab Directory (Bible)*** 2/19/2011
Unfortunately I haven't yet figured out how to do the link, but you would certainly find it with a search on "Galaxy Tab Directory (Bible)"
Hope this helps.
PS - My current preference is for Overcome 1.2.3
cheers mate, im proficient in putting roms on my htc desire so i assume it would be a similar affair with this device, shall look into what you have mentioned and its great to here that roms do exist for this device.
Will flashing roms for the international g2s work on the korean models. If no what if I flash the modem after as people do with the verizon gnex to flash official google gnex roms. I need a devs answer on this one , someone with knowledge on the topic. Thanks!
I would like to know the answer to this aswell
I've searched and found various information - still not entirely sure
The last device I flashed was an S3 which I believe had it's own forum or was similar to another carriers device.
I've found posts suggesting a G900F based ROM would be compatible. Anyone able to give a brief insight or link to a post on this board explaining?
Thanks

Any 900f rom is compatible(except for any 5.x lollypop TW roms) , enjoy

And this is also an excellent rom as well..
SM-G900W8, 0x1
A recovered flashaholic since Aliance Rom 5.5
Appreciate the response, I'll give it a shot, I think I had originally installed Alliance on my S3 as well so that's good.
Thanks
Hi, I will probably be picking up an i9505 as a backup phone, and I'm actually really excited because it looks like I can put the final 4.3 build of SlimBean (build 2.2), which I ran on my S2 and it was honestly the most perfectly configurable rom I've ever run on a phone - as similar as a lot of the rom's that came out around that time were, that one had a couple options that I couldn't find on any others, and they made it exactly what I wanted. Anyway, so that I don't brick the phone the same day I get it, can someone confirm for me if the version listed as "jfltetmo" on the SlimRoms website is the corrrect one? This is the T-Mobile variant, but it's the only S4 listed there. The thread in the i9505 original development forum is closed, and the op lists it as being "jfltexx", but that doesn't exist on the SlimRoms site. It's baffling to try to figure out with so many different variants, so that's why I'm asking here, thanks to anyone that can help me!

Yes, jfltetmo is T-Mobile. jfltexx is the international version of the S4. The one that's neverlocked, so to say.

I guess my question is, are ROMs compatible between carrier-specific and unlocked variants?

Of course. It is the same phone after all. The only difference is the software. It also depends on the carrier. Some lock their bootloaders.
