How do I block all the ads on the latest nvidia shield tv pro? I have tried Blokada 4 and it says 0 ads blocked even if it's running. Is there a way to get all the ads blocked?

I use the adguard DNS servers - https://adguard.com/en/adguard-dns/overview.html
Also replace the stock launcher with Wolf Launcher - https://www.techdoctoruk.com/custom-launcher-for-nvidia-shield-remove-adverts/
Is there a way to block the home screen ads without using a new launcher? I have been successful by just disabling Google Play Services but I cant update apps with that and can't use my Geforce Now to play games.

I don't like AdAway, it blocks a lot of websites unnecessarily, and I get tired of adding websites under white list, so I am looking for something else. I have tried one app called Adblock Plus, but it doesn't work properly, I mean it doesn't block most ads, and it force closes a lot of time.
What do you guys use to block Ads on Chrome?

I know about Mother of Ad block, but the main question is, does it too block some websites, like AdAway?
Uh, Adblock Plus is a plugin for browsers, and Chome doesn't support plugins...
It does, however, work perfectly on Firefox.

Is there any way to adblock youtube on the Shield?
Thanks!
Buy Youtube Red?
I'm sorry that's unhelpful. I'm guessing you're rooted and have tried an updated hosts file?

If you are on WiFi and have another Android device, get WiFi Adblocker and install it on the other device, and if successful,it changes your DNS numbers to the servers used to block the ads.
After that, manually put in those DNS numbers into your connection on the Shield TV and it should now work for blocking ads in browsers, apps, and even YouTube if you use an older version or the old modded YouTube version.
I blame Lollipop on the issue where the WiFi AdBlocker fails to change your DNS for blocking ads because it worked fine on the FireTV GEN1 with JellyBean.

I use the inverted one since black is perfect on a television at night,I can't stand ES File Explorer's design because of being solid white and blindingly bright as a result, they should make an option for a dark interface skin.

Does that work well on the shield tv? The thread hasn't been updated in 3 years, and seems like it's a mod of the original YouTube, not YouTube for Android TV (which is what runs on our shields)
It works really well on mine, but has limits due to login issues, but works simply for watching videos, though not at 60fps.

I couldnt get it to work with my remote, and I'd rather not use a mouse. Did you have to do anything to get the remote to work?
Sorry,I didn't get a remote,I use my Logitech K400r keyboard with trackpad to control it.
If Google would freaking give back the controller touchpad access, you could use that.
I like this method of control because I don't have a PC of my own,let alone one that could support 1080P video, that's how crappy the family PC runs from old and weak specs.
sideload ad away.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it appears the YouTube app on shield tv has been changed to the same style on as other set top boxes now. Ad blocking has never worked on the old YouTube app on shield tv, but I'm curious if anyone has tried it on this new app. It's the same style as on the fire tv, which adblocking works for me.
I would try myself, but I am currently on a free trial of YouTube red, so I'm not getting any ads right now, so haven't had a chance to test it.
Anyone know of a good popup blocker for browsers?
Mainly Chrome or S' Internet?
I don't the really mind the ads, I kinda get it.
But the pop ups are so intrusive, if it just pop outs once sure that's fine. But if it's happening everytime or every page reload/change, that's different.
Just disable popups in:
settings>advanced settings>popups: never show

Is it from playstore? Or a plugin/externsion?
There's so many "adblock" apps out there, care to share a link.
Don't mind if I have to pay, but want to pay for the right one that actually works.
Samsung Internet will offer you a list of available content blockers if you click in its menu. Try Adblock fast and or Disconnect
Adguard from the same list works well

Also recommend adguard.
Tale care.
I use adguard for rooted/UnRooted & it blocks ads system wide (apps, games, & browser ads) but requires a small yearly subscription. If your using & only wish to have blocking in Samsung native browser I'd recommend adguard content blocker as the others did. In Samsung browser I believe that you can use up to 5 blockers at once, depends on what & how much you want to block. Happy surfing ?
Blokada
Download F-Droid, install Blokada.

It's not really the ads I'm annoyed about if they're not that intrusive it's fine but the annoying popups are a different story.
But I'll try Adguard. I'm using adblock browser recommended a few post back for the sites I goto that has ridiculous pop ups.

AdGuard pro (paid) will block popups, ads, trackers, offers multiple DNS servers (I use encypted adguard dns) and you can choose app you want to use it with and without. If you can spend around $15 for the 1 year subscription you won't be disappointed but if you find something else (maybe free) more power to ya, whatever gets the job done friend.
Cheers.
Congratulations You Won Ads

Before updating, I was using the ADAWAY application to block ads. It worked fine. The root system. On Android 12, the application is supposed to work, but there are a lot of ads in the Chrome browser. Anyone have similar experiences? OOS 12 EU.

Hello and good morning, @ablak44
I know that this question has already frequently been discussed in the AdAway thread. I suggest to search that thread for Google Chrome.

I'm actually using a DNS based solution to block ads.
NextDNS
The new firewall for the modern Internet
nextdns.io
Same concept as AdAway, just fully remote. You set that as your private DNS in phone settings, job done.
Their free tier should be fine for normal usage.
EDIT: just remembered also AdAway has a similar feature, no need to install the app. You just need to set dns.adguard.com as your private DNS. But NextDNS.io offers better configurability via their web.
