Hi,
I have a Chinese head unit called SoundStream. I am using it with HeadUnit Reloaded app because it does not support Android Auto. I have 2 questions. All advices are welcomed.
1. Is there a way install Android Auto to this head unit ? Because when i tried to download apk it says this device not support it.
2. Like i said i am using HeadUnit Reloaded app. It works fine most of the time I am ok with that. But only problem is dialer. My phone connected to headunit via bluetooth. So whenever i get a call or try to call someone head unit's bluetooth appers top of the Android Auto dialer. Is there a way disable default dialer while i am using Android Auto. I want to use Android Auto dialer UI instead of head unit's default dialer ?
Regards.

My brother. Does the device you bought support android auto carplay?
There is ZLINK app, android auto works with it, but the device needs to support

Hi guys
Just had the unit installed, and can't get the Android auto to work. When I try, it opens zlink and states "androidauto has been closed, re open?" While it has automatically opened on my phone, and is clearly open. I have added images of my errors.
It also says that the connected device is unable to access data on this device.
Any clue?
Got a response from joying.
"as your 'androidauto closed' , we think that your phone is android 8. because our head unit cannot support the android 8 phone."
Thanks for notifying us of this when I purchased it.
Did you ever find a workaround for this issue?
Hi,
I got this head unit and it works great with AA but when I make or recive a call it exits Android Auto and opens the stock phone app and I can't go back to AA when I'm in the call which would be good while using the GPS.
Is there a way to fix this? I tried to find the phone app in settings to disable it but I can't find it.
I'm using HUR for AA.
I have the same problem. If i turn off the android Bluetooth in the admin menu then I can't get Android Auto to work.

I'm trying to use wired android auto with my android 10 head unit. There is no option for android auto but it allows me to upgrade it have android auto. When I go to upgrade it brings up a qr code and says the scan it with the zlink wechat mini app. I can't find this app anywhere on the play store on my phone. Does anyone know how to get the upgrade. Thanks
Because zlink is NOT android auto, and headunit is not android auto.
Zlink is garbage
If android auto is wanted, but official android auto unit
Are there any other apps like zlink that I can download that you recommend
I just got this Android HU. Works great with android auto but when carplay is connected it asks for an activation code. The app is called phonelink

Just note, your device is a kanged chinese origin greybox and doesnt run official android auto or carplay.
This means whenever google or apple make changes, the chinese hack invariably breaks.
Like I said android auto is working well but for carplay it asks for activation code
I cannot find the difference between self-mode and USB connection for Headunit Reloaded. Is anyone able to explain the difference?
Also, I have AA 8.7 Coolwalk on my phone but not on Headunit Reloaded. Is there Coolwalk yet for Headunit Reloaded?
Self mode runs as stand-alone without connection to a phone. It uses the built in Android Auto of a device, basically connecting to itself.
USB mode connects to your phone, the standard way you would connect to Android auto.
Self mode allows you to run Android auto on your phone without a headunit. Like you used to be able to before Google removed that feature.
Edit: As long as the AA version you are using supports cool walk, it will output the new features to Headunit Reloaded. Since HU Reloaded is just a receiver for the transmission, there is no change required on that end. Cool walk works fine on the latest version of HUR, if the phone transmitting has coolwalk.
