Tablet started acting weird overnight.
Does anyone had same issue? Is it dead?
Tablet was working fine untill yesterday.
Im on LineageOS 18.1 ROM but i dont think that matters.
Common problem with these tablets is that LCD Cable gets lose and Display start acting funny. So i would open it up and reseat the connection.
Why does it happen?
Samsung decided to put the LCD Cable over the battery. Giving the tablet a bit more flex and it starts to pull out the cable.

Update 1
I've discovered that if I plug in the phone, I am shown a gray battery with a progress wheel. In the past, the phone has gone less and less far into the boot process before shutting down. Thinking about it again, perhaps it's a power issue. I've ordered a new battery and usb board on Amazon, total 15 USD. I've already disassembled the phone and I'm waiting for it to arrive. FWIW I do see some physical damage to the inside "tongue" insomuch as two of the pins are just floating with no plastic. That is to say the plastic is broken off and missing.
Original Issue
Hello everyone:
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S4 (AT&T Branded) SGH-I337. I thought it was working. When I insert the battery, it boots up about 1/10th of time, but only about halfway. Occasionally it does the same thing when inserting a USB cable (I don't recall if it was to a PC or a power supply). If I can get it to boot, I CAN get into recovery or download, but it shuts off the same way. Someone took a look at it from a repair shop and said it may be a software issue.
I have tried disassembling the phone and using canned air on the power key, though it didn't seem to be the issue in the first place.
I saw a video from thailand on youtube where a person put in a microsd card, connected a power supply to the battery terminals on the phone, then connected a usb cable. The phone booted. I think the idea was that the original firmware would now have to be installed. Any idea what this is or how to do it?
Thanks for any help!

Would you have another battery to try 1st before dismantling it? They are very cheap to buy
No, but I bought a battery and usb board for a total of $15, so if either works great. Does the battery cause this issue at times?
Just replaced the usb board and battery. Still only boots to a point. No idea what to try next. Any input appreciated.
I had the same issue with my previous Samsung Galaxy Express, it turns out that this issue was caused by the power button being worn out and stuck as if it was pressed down. If you look on YouTube you can find some temporary fixes to allow you fully boot your phone. Although ultimately if this is the issue then you will have to get the power button replaced.
In October, my Nexus 7 died.
The charging port didn't work. I've had terrible luck with these, small crack on screen would cause the whole screen to quit working, and then this happened! I've been through 3 of them. Yesterday I tried a daughterboard transplant from one that's screen was dead and this one whose micro-usb port was dead!
Today I placed it on the charger and got 5 white lights blinking and I screamed! It worked, however it seems to be charging much slower now. I didn't think it would work and now I have Android 5.0.2 downloading and almost ready to install!
[UPDATE] It seems to be charging normally, but the 5.0.2 update will not install in TWRP.
Hello everyone, I have a Nexus 7 first gen, I cracked the screen and changed it, after a week the screen would not turn on and found out that the ribbon cable stopped working(my bad I guess), so I left the N7 in a box for a year after I got a ribbon cable to replace.
After turning the tablet back on, the touchscreen it's not very accurate with the touches, I noticed some stains that are hard to see, maybe some humidity or heat damaged the screen. i.imgur. com/ 8AvlB1C. jpg
What really bothers me is that whenever the tablet's wifi is on, the wifi signals for other devices are gone, and the tablet became sooo slow, I flashed it and did not help, maybe if I downgrande to 4.4 it could help, I will try that later, but could it be that?, or just the tablet too old, but even a my sister lower specs tablet runs Android better than the N7.
Hi everyone,
I have a strange situation, yesterday my son plugged in one of those cheap USB fans to his Tab E 9.6, and he said battery went down to 60%, he unplugged it, later we noticed the tablet would not turn on.
It's SM-T560NZKUXAR, I've been trying to charge it, it gets very hot near the charging port/camera, and nothing on the screen.
I pressed and held the power+vol down button, and I get a "no battery / plug in to the outlet" icon on the screen, when I do, nothing happens.
I was able to reboot it once and it got to the home screen but turned off because of 0% battery.
I was able to get it into recovery too, so it's not a software issue.
I assume the USB fan messed up the battery or fried something in there, is it possible to replace the battery or anyway to test it? Or off to the boneyard it's going..
SM-T377P sudden RIP
Hey did you ever find a solution to this? My Tab E 8.0 did the exact thing you described, almost word for word, just out of the blue a couple days ago. So now it won't power on at all, and the only thing I've found suggests it needs a battery replacement, which would be a huge pain since the back cover isn't "supposed" to come off, so it would more than likely need very precise and involved dismantling or I'm thinking I might just have to take it to the nearest uBreakIfix and hope they don't charge a crazy amount to check/swap the battery. If anyone knows of a simpler solution that doesn't involve "surgery" on the unit itself then I'm all ears.
And just to clarify, I wasnt doing anything power-intensive like your USB fan or anything when it happened, so you might be able to rule that out. I just had it plugged in charging and noticed the battery went down insanely fast when I took it off the charger and the top of it was hot to the touch, and then boom it was dead without any way to turn back on
Idk what my friend did to my tablet I let him borrow. But I just plugged it in to the charger, which it still makes the charging sound when I plug it in. But when I press power nothing happens. I've let it s
Sit plugged in for over 20min now. Still nothing. Any thoughts on how to fix this
So apparently the tablet is on cause it just made The screenshot sound when I pressed the vol down + power. So something is wrong with the screen
Looks like its an issue with the Display ribbon/cable. The Galaxy Tab A series has a common issue where the Display ribbon comes loose from the motherboard. Tho I'm sure this isn't a news flash to most of you, but at least I figured it out lol
here's a video tutorial on fixing the issue for those who find themselves in the same situation I was in....
