Try to swipe down from the top of the screen, then touch the "menu" icon (I don't remmember exactly the name of the icon). This is the way Ownice Ts10 does.

Oh, I am sorry, I was wrong. You have to touch the icon "suspention: close", not "menu"

Loving the 1605. Blackberry client working superbly.
On the bottom of the today screen (Vodafone v1605) are two "soft buttons" that correspond to the top half of the buttons either side of the square centre button.
How can I change the left soft button from "phone" to "calendar" ?
You can use WM5NewMenu to change left or right button to whatever you want:

that is an excellent program! thanks for the link! any idea how i would go about finding the commands or parameters for items under settings? (ie, memory, power, screen, backlight, etc.)
As lots of users here I suppose, I mostly use my finger for screen touching and I find it a bit annoying to always drive my thumb all the way up to the upper-right corner so lower corners x-button would be a much better solution. No i'm not that lazy, but driving my thumb up sometimes loosens my grip on the device. Plus, I think that this solution increases working speed as well.
Is there any application which can be used to put an x-button on the lower-right corner of the screen (or lower-left for lefties)? e.g, next to the right/left softkeys.
If this app doesn't exist don't you think it would a great idea for a new one? Thx a lot.
I always use my OK button on the lower panel.. Look at attachment picture.. The OK button acts as a close

I own a Touch too, and I mapped the camera button to OK/Close.
If you still want to have the camerabutton, there's software to add short presses and long presses for different apps

Yeah yeah I've already tried all this.. But I think I was precise in what I asked for: A lower-right corner on-screen x-button.

Some Screenshot of AEBPlus setting and HL
(Sorry for orientation:
{The Dimension limits for this filetype are 620 x 280. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 240 x 320. } so i need to right 90degree)
On other devices I have owned, the red telephone button acted as an OK/Close button, however, on the HTC Touch, a short press closes GPRS connection, and a long press locks the device.
However, it might suit you to change the registry to map this key back to the OK/Close button.
I haven't ever come across something which puts the x button on the bottom right hand side of the screen.
use phm powerToys to add any program (such as a close link) to the tray of your ppc (cab below the url link)
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/
or vijay555's tool

you may need an app coling tool like this one

Hi
One thing i miss from my old touch is the option to have the hardware keys Unlocked so the phone can be turned on with the press of any button and not just the power button
I did not find any such option in the settings menus , can anyone provide any solution ?? ( e.g registry hack )
Thanks
I didn't understand exactly what you mean, but you can lock the phone when press and hold the right button (default setting) and unlock from touch screen after that.

True. However, I remember in Kaiser (TyTn II) there is a lock icon where you can lock the phone just by tapping it. Does anyone know what application Jade uses (to lock when we press n hold the right button) so that we can put somewhere like in the Programs tab. Thanks.
what he meant is that the "device lock" icon is not in the setting anymore. i miss this function as well..
not sure if they left it out in the stock rom... now everytime i want to use the phone i would need to press the power button
I mapped my left softkey to lock the phone...
Just point to \Windows\EndKey.exe
HTH...

Yea usually the app itself has the menu button built into it. Or sometimes it's the rom depending on which one it is.
with on-screen buttons you can customize the navigation bar to your liking rather than needing to conform to hardware buttons.
im a big fan of mechanical buttons, but if youre giving me touch buttons let me customize them.. which is what googles doing with the nexus line
Google got rid of the menu button a long time ago. There is no such thing as "menu" in Android 4.0 and later. The three dots in the action bar is called action overflow.
Don’t call it a menu
Not only should your apps stop relying on the hardware Menu button, but you should stop thinking about your activities using a “menu button” at all. Your activities should provide buttons for important user actions directly in the action bar (or elsewhere on screen). Those that can’t fit in the action bar end up in the action overflow.
