I struggled with, but finally managed to upgrade my device to stock 7.0, but rooted with magisk. When i tried to install xposed it forced a bootloop, so i restored a backup i had just made prior, and all has been well. I had wanted to install and use "Root cloak" as, at least so far thats been working on my 8.0 device (also Samsung, also stock but rooted but with SU method in that case, i couldnt get SU alone to work on my 7.0, for whatever reason)
I left it alone, but I'm noticing more and more that apps Id like to use come up saying "device is incompatible", which at first i thought it was weird as the play store itself allowed the install... but then upon some basic looking around, it seems that the apps have a way of detecting root, even through "magisk hide" - the feature directly included in magisk manager.
currently when i try to test for safetynet directly in the magisk manager, it doesnt actually properly test at all, no pass or fail, it just said unable
the rather peculiar part is that some of these apps arent all even banking apps, theyre for games. I cant figure out why gaming apps have issues with root access, especially when these apps themselves dont have root access, but thats kind of an aside
Any simplified help anyone can offer would be great! i am slightly familiar with editing the build prop, but i wouldnt know which values to change or even if that method is still effective. i used to use that on a quite older device (captivate glide) to spoof which version of android i was on in order to download app updates (which did work just fine, so why my older version wasnt supported is beyond me, lol)

Hey, this is basically a question/help thread which I am currently experiencing with my Note 4 which I recently rooted.
I have been experiencing serious lag issues that have just made the use of my phone unbearable at this current time. The apps that I have installed which now have deleted to see if maybe this was experiencing the problems are: Freedom, Xposed Installer, Root File Manager, Root Checker, Adfree, Build.prop editor (Found a topic that said to edit the ro.securestorage.support=true to ro.securestorage.support=false ) Did that but didnt fix any problem. I will state below what kind of issues I am experiencing with the lag and other issues too.
When installing a new app from the play store or even from a downloaded APK it will take for ever to install from the APK and from the play store it will get stuck around 80% for about 30minutes before it starts installing then the install takes another 30minutes or so, same with installing straight from the APK. The lag issues consist of scrolling issues through the home screen (Happens every so often). A lot of keyboard issues when trying to type text to people its just a nightmare to use this.
I want to know what I can do to actually fix this issue, whether other people have had this issue, and whether people have any solutions. I am new to the android community and even newer to rooting, so I may be a bit of a "noob" but I learn very quickly. I dont feel like unrooting and reflashing to stock. (This is a last resort) But if push comes to shove I will do this.

Try this first, uninstall xposed framework, then install any apk (either standalone or from the play store) and report back to see if you have that problem.
If you don't have much set up, I recommend going back to stock via ODIN, see if installing app works properly.
If it doesn't, you might have a defective phone. If it does, then it must be a software issue which we can resolve.

Yeah, well I have already uninstalled xposed framework, as i said that I uninstalled everything that required root access (even when installing something that requests root access SuperSU takes about 10minutes to pick it up (This only happened after installing something but I didnt really take any notice at first) I will probably have to go back to stock, but being in canada right now and not at my actual home the internet is so slow to download the firmware -_-. Literally installing apps takes forever, uninstalling takes no time at all.
For me the culprit was exposed. Ended up having to restore my nand, and stay away from exposed.

You need to install the xposed module XSecureStorage.
Why we need install the XSecureStorage is something with privacy or S-Health problem I have the same problem, but I have installed Xposed since the first day and not have this problem until few days ago.
I like Xposed and use maybe the Instagram Downloader and Youtube Ad apps only so I want keep it.

Just a quick note to say that I was having the same issues after rooting and installing Xposed and that by installing XSecureStorage the problem appears to be solved.

I've come from owning iPhones my entire life. To bypass Jailbreak checks within apps all we did was install a .deb package from a repo (in most cases).
For Pokemon GO we had PokePatch.
For Snapchat we had Phantom (Phantom Lite nowadays).
And that was it.. you resprang your phone and your tweaks/apps were working. But after buying an S7 Edge (my first Android device ever) I've been getting super confused with getting Pokemon GO and Snapchat both working while being rooted. People are talking about systemless SuperSU which I understand, but also Magisk, but also suhide, but also pph super.
Could someone help me figure out how to get apps working (pass the Safetynet check) as of today? Coming from iPhone.. this is very confusing.
Note: I have latest TWRP installed for Recovery and adb is working perfectly. I also do not need Xposed. It would be nice to have, but if it makes things harder I can do without it.

I have a OnePlus 2. Still in great condition but stock ROM not performing great so I updated to Pixel Experience (unrooted), and its breathed new life into the device, so very pleased. However the one problem with using a custom ROM is of course banking apps can be particularly finicky about it and I really need Barclays Mobile app to work.
Ive endlessly read a lot of other threads about this but they are all about getting it to work on rooted devices. Magisk etc and other solutions that will constantly be patched by Barclays are just not good solutions. So running the device unrooted should eliminate most of the issues.
I still cant get it to run though but since Im not rooted this should be achievable if we can figure out what checks the app is making.
Here what Ive done so far:
I have TWRP recovery (obv to install new ROM)
PixelExperience ROM,
Ive relocked the bootloader
SafetyNet Check PASS
RootCheck - NOT ROOTED
Play Store - Device Certified
Changed build.props entry ro.build.tags=release-keys
Tried changing android_id.
Interestingly I have LLoyds, Santander and Nationwide banking apps all working.
But Barclays still says device is rooted. Just before this there's briefly a message that pops up saying "T0017 Not Authorised".
What other things can I try?
Has anyone gotten latest version of PoGo working on latest Oreo with ElementalX? I've never played but my friends keep asking me to join so I figured what the heck..
Slight problem... Device Not Compatible??
I had magisk and xposed, but I tried disabling, and even fully uninstalling xposed (and all additional xposed modules), and adding PoGo to the MagiskHide options, with no luck.
It still says that my device is not compatible...I would assume that's due to the rooting?
Or is it because I'm using ElementalX kernel?
I read somewhere that there's a (not pokemon go-specific) bypass sort of thing involving SatefyNet, but you have to install Magisk *before* going through initial phone setup, but any guide I've ever read about flashing/rooting ph-1 says to go through setup and then install magisk. I tried to find the post that talks about it but I can't find it right now. Anyway, I would imagine there's some kind of checksum against system and if magisk has been added after the fact, the checksum wont match? I really have no idea, just a guess.
I haven't seen any other posts specifically mentioning Essential being incompatible, so maybe it's just me.
I was originally thinking it was because of root or magisk remnants(?), but maybe it's the non-stock kernel.
If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

I have successfully created an account using their google auth option.
I get through the first Professor Willow part, then character selection.
Usually part way through character selection, I get the error in the attached image.
Its not on any one specific section, however, it can/has occur at any point during the loading.
I've cleared cache and data a hundred times because it seems to get further each time if I do a fresh data wipe and start over -- I know the next step already so I can get through faster maybe lol

I finally got through character selection and made it to the first chance to catch pokemon. I hit a squirtle and it was trying to break free, and then that error popped up.
Haven't been able to get back in far enough again to see if it actually added to my PokeDex or not.
Sorry for the late reply, but you have to hide root detection under magisk.
For Pokemon go to work, go to Magisk > MagiskHide > then search for Pokemon go and select it then reboot.

I got a pretty fresh 12G Ram Nothing Phone (1) here. I tried rooting it pretty much immediately with help of the forum post here, but the OTA updater failed afterwards, so I let magisk uninstall itself, flashed a clean full European update and then ran the OTA updater al the way up to 1.1.4, using the phone for 2 days no problems now.
Today I ran into a problem I have never seen before: Netflix on the app store is listed as not compatible with my device. All other streaming apps work. In fact pretty much all other apps I previously used do work (acutally KWGT also showed as incompatible, but the apk from another page worked).
Now all my banking apps still work and they are super sensitive to any changes (except GPay of course, since the bootloader is still unlocked), but I still ran a safety net check, which passed, however the apps I used for testing did still show a cts profile mismatch. How can this be? Is there anything I could do to fix it? Could this cause for whatever reason just a ban on netflix in the store?
Im kind of lost here. Id like to try everything before I have to do a full reset, as that would mean a lot of trouble.
Edit: Well nvm Im idiot. So apparently just having the bootloader unlocked causes a CTS profile mismatch and Netflix does get removed from the appstore for that. Never encountered this on my rooted to death Mix 3 before, which is why I made the assumption that it is weird. Delete this thread if you want

You added playstore and play services to the denylist and installed safetynet fix i guess?
