Hi,
Selecting a charger for mobile devices seems to be confusing nowadays, atleast for me[emoji16].
Can help me how much power does the S7 edge needed for Fast Charging and non Fast charging? I understand that the original charger included in the box has 5V 2A or 9V 1.6A output. Am I right to say that when fast charging is off, it will use the 5V 2A and if it is on it will use the 9V 1.6A?
Reason for asking is, I am using the original charger at home and my old htc charger from M9+ in the office. But when I use the htc charger with 5V 1.5A output, charging suddenly stops at 50-60%. I observed that the htc charger gets hot than its normal but my phone doesn't get hot. I turned off fast charging when doing this. It seems that the htc charger cannot handle the s7 edge and stops at certain point when it gets hot.
Now, i'm checking which wall charger should i buy to use in the office as it seems i cannot use an ordinary charger on newer s7 edge device. Am I right to say that the minimum requirement for power output for s7 edge is 5V 2A? It doesn't matter to me if it is just non-fast charge as I normally on my desk all day so non fast charging is okay.
Please help. I need an advise for this.
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

I have done some testing.
With QC 2.0 (my old Motorola Turbo charge 15) I charge phone from 20% to 90% with rate 65%/hour (1 hour and 10 minutes time)
With QC 3.0 (charger and cable from original Chinese packaging) I charge phone form 30% to 87% with rate 95%/hour (40 minutes)
I think this scenario is common for most users when they need to charge phone in hurry.
Later I will add also charging rate for quick wireless charger included in box and maybe also some QC 4.0+ if I get my hands on some.
In my case, I bought a PD3.0 charger from Aukey and my Mi Mix 3 is charging from 0% to 100% in 1h08 !
In fact after a few research I found that Power Delivery Technology is compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge because Quick charge is working with Power Delivery and add a few security technology, but power delivery already have some.
Nevermind, I tested it and indeed My PD3.0 charger (max 15V and 3A) with a anker cable wich support up to 5A is working faster than the QC3 charger !
I suppose a QC4.0 should be better, but for now I think PD3.0 is the best solution !
I second @romain1672...I've converted all my chargers to USB-PD since I've divested from non-USB-C devices and my Mi Mix 3 flies with them.
I believe the wireless charging is relatively slow, think one review said three hours for full charge? But that's expected to be honest.
I've heard it said that slow charging is better for battery life, so in effect, wouldn't the wireless charger be better than cabled, if you're not pressed for time?
It took me exactly 1h45 to charge from 17% to 100% with the wireless charger. It's pretty fast for a wireless charger, but the only issue is that it heats lot of more than wired, and i read somewhere that heat isn't good for battery health.
Hi guys, I just bought the Razer Phone charger (it's the only one I could get quickly with Quick Charge 4.0+ in the UK). Not the most scientific of tests, but it went from 30% to 87% in 30 mins. I tested from 30% again today with a Quick Charge 3 charger and in 30 minutes it made it to 80%.
Sorry I didn't run from 0-100%, I can probably test that more easily this weekend if people are interested?
Fast enough that for the first time since owning a smart phone I never have to think about looking for a charge, even when travelling.
Does anyone know of any wireless chargers/charging stands that charge the mix 3 as fast as the included one? I've tried a couple I had with previous phones and they just charge so much slower
This charger is becoming annoying.
I place my phone on the puck by my bed. Sometimes, before falling asleep, I hear the sound indicating charge stopping.
Then, in the morning I find my phone has moved off the puck. And it is not me! The phone slips away if not perfectly aligned centrally on the puck. It is not surprising as the induction forces between the puck and phone will be opposing but the manufacturer should have spotted this and made the puck/phone with more friction between them.

Bro, I use my brothers Samsung Wireless Charger "EP-NG930" from his S8. Google it to see it. I can't post a pic of it since I leave it in the office but underneath it is rated at 9V 1.67A (15W)
I must say it charges pretty much the same, if not, faster than the included one since it has a built-in noiseless fan behind the coils
Hi all! I have a Galaxy S8 Active which runs T-Mo firmware and is used on T-Mo network. The phone has latest August patch installed. Could anyone please tell me what is the charging rate measured with Ampere or similar app? I don't have original charger and cable at the moment, but I do have compatible chargers such as Anker 5 port QC 3.0 and 1 port of with PD which is 3 Amp. I also tried Pixel 2 charger, another Microsoft 3.0 Amp charger. All of those chargers provide about 970mA which is the max I have seen. The rate doesn't go up. The lock screen shows as charging fast
It depends on the charger. I measured with a USB tester the charge rate with two SONY chragers and, while one charges at 0.9 A, the other one does it at 1.5 A.
The capacity of the battery seems to be 2400 mAh with a brand new one from 2017

QC 3 is great, I dont use the wireless charging.
I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the quick charging speed. I had the Essential phone before this and loved the 27w fast charging with USB PD. The G8X charges really slow in comparison. I've tried QC 3.0 adapters and USB PD adapters and just can't find something that I would call "quick" by today's standards.
im using a xiaomi remi note 8 pro charger to quick charge, the one in the box doesn't give me "Fast charge" icon
using the stock usb-c charger, I get pretty good fast charge. wireless is a bit slower but I use it to avoid fast charge anyway to preserve the battery health.

I agree. It is unstable charging. In my cause power ( A) is jumping, also QC3/unknow is swapping very ofter. Just connect USB meter. Strange. There is an option for save charge, but On/Off causes no difference to me.
ive tried 5 different chargers but this phone does not charge more than 10w on any chargers QC 2.0, 3.0 AND 4.0+ usb AtoC CtoC tested on usb tester. it will spike to 13w maximum then go stable 10w all the way. Can anybody test on their phone to confirm this? ive tried these chargers on xiaomi and realme phone they would charge upto 17w
Lg g8x charging speed
Tried every charger starting from 15W and up to 40W. QC 3.0 to 4+, Dash charge, Warp charge, Super charge, Adaptive Fast charge. 0 to 100% takes 2 hr 12 min.
LG g8x refuses to charge faster with any of them. When world moves to faster charging protocols incl. long hesitant apple for iPhone, LG does the opposite. LG and Qualcomm mentions that QC 4.0 supported in their official websites which should support 27 W, but with any charger phone accepts max. of 13 W in my testing.
I have been using LG phones for long only because of quad DAC. For people like me who wants to support LG, this slow charging is a real issue.
I understand that V60 comes with 25W qc 4.0 inbox charger which charges 0 to 100% in around 1 hr 45 min for 5000 mAh battery as per YouTube reviews.
Now the only question left for me is that can 25W V60 charger be used to charge g8x battery of 4000 mAh in 1 hr 30 min. Has anyone tried charging g8x with V60 charger? If so, can some post changing time.
I would really like someone to use Mi Pocket Powerbank Pro available in India a 22.5 W Quickcharge (don't know which Qualcomm level, guessing QC3) powerbank specifically using a super high quality cable either the Blauplunkt Flat USB 2 to type C or the Ikea Type C to Type C cable using the type C Power Delivery (PD) output port of this powerbank which I believe would be the topmost setup ever for charging this device. Is the Max fastcharge rating 18w of this device?? As such I did not even mention Redmi 30w powerbank. Which is the QC4 power adaptor or powerbank which can be bought in India?
If rooted you can get fast charging via a magisk module. It charges fast even with screen on... Which is what annoys me about the phones that restrict it to approx 1000. They still limit temperature to 46C
Turbo is 2750mah, super turbo is 3000mah
Normal is 2450mah and 45C limit.
Also recommend the intelligent power control magisk module, better than acc. I'm using 90 max 86 back on. Works great!

Tried superturbo and got ~3000 ma but in full run from 0 to 100 it just makes 10 to 12 min difference

It helps where keeping the screen on, the charging speed is not reduced. Before this, keeping the screen on would reduce the charge rate a lot.
Now I'm on s21 and they severely limit charge rate once the battery reaches 37C.

Not the absolute fastest around, but damn sure not the slowest... especially when you consider how much further every 1% of battery will take you on this phone compared to other phones in its class. Fast charging kills batteries anyways, so I charge slowly most of the time since I'm always around a plug these days. I really wish I had this phone back in 2011 when I lived on a bicycle and was always on the road away from home and/or power. My only other gripe is that I wish there was a software switch to turn off fast charging like Samsung offered. Sometimes I only have a fast-charge enabled charger around, but would prefer a slow charge.

I don't slow charge in the traditional sense, but I use a QC 3.0 charger for the same reason. It maxes out at 3A to the battery, or 0.6C charge rate. It's still plenty fast, but slow enough relative to battery capacity that it doesn't stress the battery much and no need to worry about turning a setting off in the phone.
Im using 25w adapter PD to charge V60, charging speed is too slow, need above 3hours from 10-100.
Checking battery in hidden menu, saw charong current max is 1,7A, usually lower.
Normal adapter give me same speed (like a cheap samsung fast charge adapter).

I am having the exact same issue. Have you found any solutions yet? I am about to either return the device or change the battery and charge port. Although, I am not sure if it will help because it has 10 watt wireless charging and still maxes out at 6 watts on wireless.

iam using Xiaomi 33w adapter with a Baseus cable, dont use Xiaomi cable (with red color inside usb port, this cable hold 5V only) .
This combo charing my V60 fast (about 1h30 -2h). Its acceptable for me.
Now i dont mind about charing speed anymore.
Hey bro i hqve a 36 watt fast charger. I noticed that my phone charges in 1 hour 40 min before. Now it still ahows me 1 hour 40 min but it takes hours to charge..... It is still showing fast charging. It never happened before
