Hi, I moved to this ROM in the hope that doing a complete wipe would allow me to use my camera and this ROM seemed to have a lot of activity on the dev forum. Unfortunately I decided my camera is broken and I will have to order the part to replace it. I can accept that. However since moving to CodeFire I have been unable to run acatlog, logcat, or catlog extreme, or even 'adb catlog'. Logcat correctly requests superuser but does not build a log. I hope someone can help me. Other discussion on the net has not fixed this issue. Notably the supposed hidden menu to enable logcat does not open after entering the code.
The other issue is opening camera crashes CodeFire. But since everything else on this ROM works so well I'm going to just go along with it. What I really want is to just be able to watch the crash on 'adb catlog' though.
p.s. Why doesn't android embed nano? How am I supposed to read or edit config files? Is there another channel I should be asking these questions in? And what are the standard users in android? System and what? ADB was complaining it couldn't run catlog 'cause it couldn't write to /dev/[some_dir].
Never mind. I moved to the Synthetic AOSPx MOD. It's perfect except for lacking the swipe keyboard the JB mods have. I miss that but not as much as I appreciate having a mod that doesn't crash d/t broken HW. Really happy about this one. This also fixes my problem with catlog and even allows me to keep Google Now. How cool is that?

Glad you've found your ROM.
Hello,
I'm experiencing an issue with the Loop VR headset and my OnePlus Two.
When I use t the two halves of the images doesn't converge and hence it is almost unusable.
I've tried it with my OnePlus One and the LoopVR is perfectly working.
Comparing the two images (see attachments) I can see that on the OPO the image is split in two perfectly symmetric circles while on the OPT the two halves are not symmetric.
I'm using CM 13 nightlies.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?
Screenshots:
OPO: http://i64.tinypic.com/9gii3d.jpg
OPT: http://i64.tinypic.com/2njae7c.jpg
Thank you!
EDIT: Sorry, this should probably be in the "ONEPLUS 2 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING" section. Please move it there if it is the case
yes, I have the same problem.
I tried to get the engineer code * # 808 # in the dialer (seen here https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/re-calibrating-accelerometer-magnetometer-gyroscope-sensor.405894/"]https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/re-calibrating-accelerometer-magnetometer-gyroscope-sensor.405894/ ) but cyanogen does not recognize!
I decided to reinstall oxygen os to enter the engineer code, I then have to recalibrate the sensors but when I pass under cyanogen, settings are lost and her again the problem.
I tried with remix os but I do not think because this rom is based on cyanogen.
should we know how to recalibrate the sensors in cyanogen.
ps: sorry for my english, this is the first time I post in xda simply to say you're not the only one to have this problem
EDIT : with remix os, the sensors is not good. The same with cyanogen 13. BUT with the paranoid aospa, IT'S GOOD.
Hello shousky,
thank you for your reply!
Glad to hear I'm not alone
Then I will try to fill a bug report to CyanogenMod when I have time.
Does anyone know how to ricalibrate the sensors?
Hello,
could you please move this to the "ONEPLUS 2 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING" section?
Hello,
a quick update.
I have tried the Google Exploration app and it allows you to chose another cardboard type than the standard. Using this one the experience is much better but the alignment is still not perfect.
I would like to try generate the correct profile but the dedicated site (https://vr.google.com/cardboard/viewerprofilegenerator/) doesn't work for me. After opening the link on the smartphone I have only a blank page.
Has anyone been able to generate a cardboard profile using the cardboard website?
Thank you,
Daniele
Are any v35 users using a gcam mod? If so, can you share which one and your experiences?
Well for 5-th branch hands down the best one is GoogleCamera_5.2.025-Final_fu24-18c1.apk and can be found here
Regarding 6-th latest Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.7.190716.1800 by Arnova works flawlessly with this XML config.
On a project fi v35, the GoogleCamera_5.2.025-Final_fu24-18c1.apk was too laggy for me. I ran 01.MGC_6.1.021_G7_test_v1.apk and was able to snap pictures with front and rear, but the 02.MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_04.02.19.12.54.apk crashed on launch.
Will post a logcat once i can.
Have you properly applied the XML setting (step 8) after installing MGC_6.1.021_BSG_Arnova_TlnNeun_04.02.19.12.54.apk?
Lag in viewfinder is cause by overloaded buffer in this version which is easily fixable either by applying XML as shown or by enabling the Buffer Fix switch in app Settings.
Nope, after installing the 02 apk, it crashes on launch so I don't get the chance. Tweaked settings w/ the other one and got it working at least, thanks!
You are welcome!
N.B.: If you want to have it working you need to follow the guide up to the letter, so whenever you get bored and want to try again just uninstall the current GCAM, restart your phone and start again.
Do not forgot to take again 2 pictures after installing 1st apk and to properly import the XML settings after installing the 2nd apk and starting it for the first time.

Same problem, I can't do step 8 because the camera crashes when trying to open.
I have LG V30+ H930DS, and I use this two Gcams.
One is 90% wokring (maybe panorama doesnt work) but all other is perfect (wide, noraml, portrait front/back, HDR+, SlowMotion) and its fast. (To chagne between lenses, just hold switch button, it will redirect to settings, after you close settings lense will be changed.
The other one I use only for NightSight. This camera has problem with selfies, they have green tint. It also have Wide/Normal switch, ( just chage between selfie and back camera, and each time ju go back to main camera it will be diferent lense)
I'm satisfied with this phone, for me everything is perfect, but i found LG V35 for good price and I would like to konw if there is somebody with V35 who will try this two Gcams, and tell me does they work properly, or if there is some others which works good, because i wouldn't change V30 for v35 if I can't have good working Gcam.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded, installed and restored the supplied config file for my V35.
Regarding Night Sight, is there a setting to change to fix the choppy motion when moving around the viewfinder?
No way for now on improving Night Sight viewfinder lag.

where is step 8 described? I can find no reference on how to apply this xml config.
Step 8 originates from really old installation guide.
Now you need only to install the camera apk and import the xml settings file.
Where/how to extract the xml file and how to import it afterwards you can check here

Thanks. I must have been downloading wrong version, since double clicking didn't work. Tried again this morning and it works now.
After applying the xml fix to v6.1 camera, it works, but I wouldn't call it "good". It's super annoyingly slow to make pictures. 5.2 also lags substantially, and won't load xml settings. So far, lg camera is hands down better
so... MGC_6.2.030_MI9SE_V4_plus2.apk has been the only version for me that has worked without issue...problem is pictures are not clear. although the viewfinder is fixed with the buffer fix toggle, when taking photos its not quick therefore the pictures blur slightly.
do you all encounter the same and if not which version and configuration has given you a fast shutter?
Here is what I posted on arnova's thread with the suggestion of another member.

thanks...i Gcam_6.2.030_Advanced_BF_V2.2.1.190822.1145.apk works for my V35 as it seems BF means it has the buffer fix built in. shame it doesn't allow for zero shutter lag as for phones that don't need a buffer fix. as the OEM camera can take photos super fast.
here are my settings for my LG V35 on Pie on Gcam_6.2.030_Advanced_BF_V2.2.1.190822.1145.apk
back camera: Pixel 3 XL
front camera: Nexus 6P
AWBGains Mod: OFF, was causing GREEN photos with it on
RAW FORMAT: RAW_SENSOR
Image Format: JPEG (if i set YUV_420_488 GCam crashes)
P3 wide-color, Wide Color gamut
playing around with Custom Lib Repo by cstark and with Eszdman v2.6 beta 2
image quality is awesome, and no blur upon shutter snap as with other GCams! Thanks @arnova!

Hey everyone, I'm currently exploring some gcam options and I found that the latest Arnova Gcam works great with no lag (it does take a bit longer to capture a photo than it does on my sd820 device) but sadly it doesn't offer wide camera mode.
Now, there is the cstark camera and wide angle mode actually does work, but using the camera is impossible because the preview (you know, the thing you see on your screen before you take a picture) changes once every 5 seconds or something. I tried importing some xmls and that sped it up just a bit but not by much.
Is there some working version that was tested for v35? My v35 is Korean model

I get terrible stutter on the night site with this 6-th and the config file. Any fixes?
You need to be on Pie and you can use Gcam_6.2.030 with working Night Sight without lag.
I have been on vacation for the past 10 days mostly. Using my wife's iPhone for pics, which has made me realize how bad the OP 6t native camera app is. Two pain points in particular:
1) Two finger zoom is extremely choppy, jumping in increments that make it difficult to compose well
2) Pano stitching misses at least 30% of the time, often grossly so, and often in good light
3) No voice triggers for the camera. Maybe I need to observe proper technique from Asian ladies but I find it near impossible to compose and trigger the shutter when doing a selfie with the missus with an outstretched hand. I used to have a LG many moons ago they you could configure to respond to "cheese" and "kimchi".
Any suggestions? I understand that third party apps loose access to the detailed hardware drivers, filtering and demosaic algorithms, but it is not like OP does a particularly good job at that too (colors are too saturated and the overall rendition is often quite dark).

Wow, just what the doctor ordered. Can't quite figure out if it does panos but that is probably because of the gazillion settings I have to go through. I also can't get the 6t to launch it by default with a power button double tap. Still goes for the stock app despite me setting open cam as the default camera app. Maybe I need to reboot.

I have tried gcam in the past but it always seemed buggy. Can you point me to a decent implementation for the 6t?

Try this Jean Luc mod apk with your favorite config file. There are also picture samples for each config. I prefer velvia.
Put the xml file in /gcam/configs. Install and open the camera apk and double tap the area next to the shutter button. You can load the config then.

Double tap power button to open a custom camera is only possible when phone is unlocked already. OOS feature...
Sorry for being dumb but... I created /gcam/configs, put a couple of XML files in there, installed the app, launched it, but when I double tap I get "you do not have any configs files".
Does gcam need to be under sdcard or in the root?
Never mind, figured it out, gcam needs to be in sdcard.
As to configuring a custom camera app to launch with double clicking the power button - I am on OOS unlocked. Do I need to install a button remapper?

Thanks but it is not case sensitive, I have it all lower case and it works fine.
I use a combination of Camera FV-5, when I have time to set everything because I'm picky (also 40 years using film SLR and D-SLR's) and when I'm in a hurry, the google camera that was ported for the Pixel phone I had. It's faster than the Camera FV-5.
The native camera app, as you mention, SUCKS.

I tried that camera and when I zoomed in on the pictures, I still got the same mess as on previous camera versions.
If you really want to find the best camera setup for your phone and your photo habits, join google camera [op6/6t] group on telegram, I am on the latest 6.1 (6.2 sort of buggy) experimenting with glib, xlib xmls, but the possibilities are endless and there are noob-level tutorials how to set it up and which xml is for what.

Agreed. This is the place to go.
Hi guys, i just realized that the camera app of this phone is really poor and lacks even basic options like selecting video/photo resolution/megapixels. Is there any modified version of the app that adds these options? If not what's the most recommended app to get the most out of this beasts camera?

I wanna say the the Google camera supports all three with a custom xml file. It can be found on xda under GCam.. I can't find it right now for whatever reason, but a quick Google search will get you there
How I just installed GCam

So here's how I just installed it on my 7tProMc5G.
First with Telegram installed, look for "GCam Finder [BOT]"
This is a menu driven space, at the bottom click "GCam Download", new buttons appear, select phone manufacturer (OnePlus) and phone (OnePlus 7/T/Pro)
Then you'll see instructions and buttons to download APK and XML. Download both. (You're now done with Telegram, but there is some good info in the FAQ.)
Once you've done that I went to the notification of the download and installed the apk from there, you might be able to install from File Manager.
Once that's done the apk is installed, but you want to add the xml. This will go into a specific folder, which can vary, so do the below to make it easier.
Open Gcam. It's just called Camera, but has a different icon from the OnePlus. (It recognized the three cameras, and seemed to work ok, but just in case I decided to install the downloaded xml.)
From the top of the viewfinder, swipe down to open the options (flash, hdr, etc.)
Click the little settings icon at the bottom of the options window.
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings and select Configs.
Click on Save and enter a save name, anything will work, you're just making a config so that GCam makes all the folders you need.
Now back out of the app and go to file manager.
Go to Download and find the .xml file, copy it to the clipboard.
Go up to Internal Storage and find the newly created GCam folder, and the Configs folder inside it (mine was called Configs7)
Put the downloaded .xml file in there, you should also see the one you just created.
Now go back to GCam and in the bottom area where the three buttons are, double-tap to the right of the "last picture" button. You should get a dialogue allowing you to load a config, choose the downloaded .xml.
When I did that the three "zoom" options changed, this will be based on which xml you download.
I checked and NightSight seemed to work, also while in NightSight scroll down from the top and Astrophotography gets turned on.
Kinda neat. I'm digging this phone, it's wicked fast. I bought it for the 12G RAM, I didn't even think 5G would work, seems to though.
I simply installed urynx05's lastest 2.3 Gcam on my unrooted 7t Pro Mclaren (I'm waiting for my unlock.bin) and all the cameras work without any issues. No need to use any xml's to get everything working, just enable the aux cams in settings. Just Google gcam urynx05 and the you'll find it.
