I bought an Essential Phone off of eBay that was Google locked. I thought I could bypass it with this guide
but the language setting option at 1:38 isn't present. Are there any other methods to bypass FRP so I can reset this Essential phone?
Thanks

Dang, guess I'll have to return this to the old lady I stole it from

So, I purchased a galaxy S7 (G935F) that turned out to be locked to a google account that the seller claims to have no details of. I have already paid for the phone and would not get the money back. I am now stuck with this phone that keeps on asking for the stupid google account details without which it would not let me use the phone. I have tried looking everywhere on the internet and came to the conclusion that I need to reset or bypass factory reset protection (FRP) in order for me to able to use the phone. Xda senior and expert my last hope to get solution here. I request to all expert pls help I love my phone and don't want to lost my phone.. last 3 month I am searching for this solution but no success. :crying:
Hi everyone, I hope this is not ilegal or something... Well the thing is I got scammed on eBay buying and unlocked lg v20 us996, I already opened a dispute in PayPal but in the meantime I'm trying to fix this...
I've read some "solutions" but it's not at all explained so I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. My bootloader is locked and I don't have enabled OEM unlock nor USB debugging . So my question is, is there any way to activate these two other than in the phone itself ? (I can't do it the normal way since the RAC message blocks absolutely everything on the phone)
Could someone that has done this before walk me through this? I would extremely appreciate it!!!
Thanks in advance people.

Are you able to disable the RAC APP system side, and then reboot to see if they were lazy and didn't disable the usb debugging as well.

What do you mean by disabling system side bro? If it's something I have to do inside the phone i absolutely can't since this RAC messages blocks the phone and I can't access it because it requests ab4 digit PIN

No bro I cant do anything on the phone, So i need help to unlock the bootloader from adb or somethig...
I dont know if this trick works on LG but on Samsung when I had a S6 I posted a fix for this somewhere on XDA where you put the RAC fix on a external thimb drive and plug it into your usb port on your phone after factory resetting it and it will popup the file manager and aftwr you install the RAC apk which is just a shortcut to settings you tick OEM unlock in Dev Mode and then root the phone. Again I don't know if it works still but worth a try.

This is weird, I literally just went through this same exact situation. I contacted RAC using the number provided on the lock screen, I explained the situation and they asked for my IMEI, they looked it up and they confirmed it wasn't supposed to be sold to me, they then instructed me to bring it into my local RAC location where they would buy the phone back from me, after I did this I contacted ebay and explained everything that I had done, they said as long as I was able to provide proof that this incident happened and the phone was "stolen" (sold to me without authorization from the RAC it was being leased from) that they would fully refund me.
I went back and contacted the RAC that the phone belonged to and asked them to fax over (to my local RAC) information proving the phone was being leased from them and was not supposed to be sold to me, they were happy to do this for me. I provided the documentation as well as pictures of it next to the phone to ebay and got a full refund (on top of the buyback from RAC for the phone) I then bought a NEW unlocked v20 from Brandsmart USA for 399$ it was about what I paid on ebay (I actually came out ahead because I got a full refund from ebay + a 150$ buyback from RAC)
if you have any questions feel free to PM me, I'll gladly help in any way that I can, people who do this are scum
LG V20 rent a center

So I found an LG Stylo 2 in the middle of the road. I did everything I could (not much) to find the owner and now I have a nearly perfect device to play with except its FRP (Factory Reset Protection) locked.
I spent hours following various tuts on how to bypass FRP but it seems the recent September Security Update for Android 7.0 has blocked all of these.
I'm a fairly technical person so is there ANYTHING that I can do to get a functional phone? Is rooting an option to bypass FRP? Any other hacks to try? Firmware downgrades? Anything?

It was very helpful. They found a phone. It did not belong to them. When you find property, you turn it in to your local police department and file a found property report.
No one will help you bypass a system that is intended to deter theft. If we did, what would be point of FRP lock?
By the way. I AM a police officer. So my advice to the OP was spot on.

You know people forget passwords all the time. Which is what happened to me, I'm not a thief or anything just kind of a dumbass sometimes. I'd really appreciate help.

Then you can take the phone along with your proof of purchase to Samsung and they can reset it for you.
But as far as me telling you how to bypass FRP, I won't do it, and hopefully neither will anyone else here. There's no way for us to know if you're a thief or if you just forgot your password. And again, what would be the point of FRP if we just told you how to bypass it, if it were even possible? That would defeat the whole purpose of it.
And honestly, you telling me I'm not very helpful does little to endure me to your plight. If you forgot your password, then thats your carelessness.
A month ago while doing some off road bike riding I found a S8 on the trail. I call Verizon and they said they would get back to me on that to do with the phone. They never called back.
I've placed a ad on Craigslist and have called Verizon 4 times. No one seems interested in the recovery of this phone. I could use it to fly my drone but it's locked. I tried a reset but it's asking for the old Google account info. Is it possible for me to root this phone so it can be used on WiFi? My other option would be skipping it accross the San Francisco bay. I wonder how many skips I could get.
Thanks for any input on this post.

You could just flash stock firmware on it, using Odin.
Flash unlocked (G950U1) firmware on it and wipe it through recovery. Should allow setup without needing the account linked to it

No, that does not erase frp. Frp bypass discussion is forbidden on XDA, as the #1 reason to use it is to resell stolen phones.
To OP there are enough resources on the internet that you should be able to figure out whether or not this is possible yourself.
You could also just figure out what carrier it's on, walk into their store and hand it to them so it can be reunited with its owner. I know if I lost my $800 phone I'd be pretty sad. Definitely better than destroying it, seemingly out of spite
There is a combination file which you can flash via odin to bypass frp
google it for more info

thank you for your input. I'm not sure how but I will try to close this thread down or delete.
Because of my busy schedule I was trying to have verison send me a mailer so I could send them the phone. Also I was just kidding about skipping the phone across the bay. I would never do that. I have left the phone on since I found it expecting someone to call it so I could find the owner but there has been nothing. The owner probably got replacement through insurance leaving this phone disconnected.
Hey guys.
Wondering if you can all help me at all please.
Last month I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ for my wife for her birthday - this was bought on Shpock.
It was advertised as FRP enabled and when I asked the seller I was advised to take this to a shop and they will remove it for around £10 - I later found out this was a lie and what FRP actually stood for.
Over the last week or so, I've learnt more about computers and code than I ever have just trying to make this device usable.
I'm sorry because I'm unsure if such question(s) are allowed on this forum, but, is there a currently working way to remove FRP on the Note 10+ or is the phone good for the bin?
I've managed to use a few tools such as SamFirm and FrpRemoval2020 which injects some sort of code to open web browsers etc on the device, and I've followed a few videos regarding hidden settings to change passcodes etc but nothing seems to be working.
Thank you all in advance for your help and Happy Easter to you all.

Sorry to say ... it was a very bad deal. No idea how to remove FRP without the account credentials of the Google account, the device was connected to.

IDK ... but you can try to flash stock Samsung firmware with Odin, if you can boot into download mode and the bootloader is unlocked.
This is not the Note 10+ forum .
