Is it worth buying in June 2021? - Asus ROG Phone Real Life Review

Hello people,
I'm looking into buying a new phone these days, and I'm looking at an ROG 3 12GB / 256GB version, brand new for a decent price.
But I have my worries due to the ROG 2 dying on its users as we all know.
I've looked around and quite honestly didn't find much info regarding ROG 3 phones dying, just one video on YouTube of a guy saying it died after 6 months.
So I thought I might as well ask here before I make such a big investment that I might regret later.
Thanks a lot.

Just wanted to say thanks

Hi guys,
I'm sorry to say that after 6 months with the SGS, I've swapped it for the Nexus S. The swap came at a good time, as the change over ended up only costing me $40
I've been here since the start of these threads, and to be honest, I wanted to thank all the keen developers that have made the SGS a better phone, and the experience learned here has certainly made its way to the Nexus S.
Best regards
Cheetah2k
Did you change over with Optus direct? How did it end up costing on 40 bucks?
Sold urs at a good price perhaps.
Take me with you!
traitor!**
I sold my SGS for $500 to a mate at work desperate for one, and had a family friend buy an unlocked Nexus S direct from Best Buy in the US.
My mate charged me a 6 pack of his fav beers for getting it for me when he came home for a holiday in Aus last week

Still worth buying?

Hey guys, do you think buying a used note 3 is still a good by at $350?
How much do you think it will sell for in November after Note 4 hits the scene?

Still worth buying?

I'm eligible for an upgrade and, considering how my OnePlus One is holding up at this point, I should probably do that soon. Looking at the phones available, the 6P has most of my interest. I'm wondering if it's still worth getting, ignoring price so I won't mention what it is, and if there's anything I should know about it before going into it.
Thanks folks!
If you buy it with a good price point in your country.
The new Nexus phone 2016 leaked spec. did not look good for me.
May be I will continue to use my 6P until next year.
After seeing the leaked specs, I've decided to buy the 6P. I used to use the Nexus 6 and I find the 6p to be a much better phone. Better as in battery, screen, and the feel of the phone. I love the Nexus 6 but I think I just found the perfect phone and thats the 6P
My 6s broke buddy had this for sale 400 brand new with the watch and project Fi best investment
I'd probably still buy it now. The new Nexuses don't really interest me so this phone would still be my next purchase.
great to read these opinions, after having the screen break on my Mate7 i took the step to come back to Nexus again(I really miss my N4). good to know its still worth buying
It does have staying power, especially on XDA!

Is it worth buying a used G2 right now? (2016-2017)

Since my Xperia ZR got broke a while ago. I don't have any enough money to buy a good brand new smartphone. There's a shop at my place where G2s are being sold (F320 model). And that's the best one I can afford (costs around $80). Is it still worth buying G2? I don't play games on a phone. I'll only use it to check emails, listen to music, and for social media purposes. This is the best one I can afford right now and that prices of smartphones here in my country (Philippines) are inflated. All your opinions are much appreciated. Thanks you.
In my opinion it's still a great phone to have, I still have one as my daily driver (D802) and it works like a charm, even for today's standards
I would go for it
f320. Great phone. Also you can buy a second battery.
I love it.

go for D800 or D802 so you can install dorimanx kernel
I think yes. I own it from 6 months, used phone
I have used these phones in chronology
Alcatel one touch glory 2s pro
Alcatel one touch glory 2s
Xperia M
Xperia SP
Redmi 1S
Redmi 2
Mi 3
Grand Prime
Redmi 3(bought this 2 times)
LG G2
,
it basically has the performance of a SD800, its really smooth, compared to all of my previous phones , its definitely an all rounder
-performance
-battery life
-camera( dont expect much like in its phone reviews and youll be happy)
-community ROM support(one of the best I ever had)
In my country (malaysia) , secondhand LG G2 are sold at quite a low price, around that price (80USD), the first time I researched a good phone was this and I was just shocked it having a really low price point, it really shows that people(including casuals) dont see this phone because its from the 2013 and its LG(to casuals they only know LG as appliance company lol). I was skeptic as thinking it might be a bad phone and for as little as 80usd you can get this performance im sold.
been using it for about 2 month now
I used a G2 D802 and a G2 VS980. Great phones, with a good choice of custom ROMs

Keep in mind that a 3 years old phone could have lost a third of its battery capacity. Mine did.
Definitely a good buy

Wow, they are pretty cheap there ,here in Serbia I bought mine d802 16GB for around 150$ and its beaten pretty much

I would recommend this phone. Best phone for me.
It performs like a new mid ranged device. Even better than some of them. It also has 1080p and 3000mAh so I would say it is still a good phone. I bought one for 100e used it even had foil on the side like it's new.

Interested in getting this beast but some genuine questions please?

So in the UK, I can get the black shark 2, 8gb ram 128gb storage for around £250. Is it still worth it getting this phone, as I want it for my son. I also checked out the oneplus 6t which is more or less the same price but with a 845 processor. The good part with oneplus 6t though is the good software updates from oneplus. I'm worried about lack of updates from xiaomi on the black shark. What are your thoughts please and have the updates been coming through? Also how's the phone with the android 10 update? Is it running OK as I see so many people trying to go back to android 9!. I would really appreciate your thoughts on
- ongoing software updates as my son often keeps his phone for at least 3 weeks years.
- android 10, how is running on the shark.
- should I go instead for the oneplus 6t. Many thanks.
I’ve had my 2pro about a month now and, although hesitant at first, I was swayed by the price difference with other high-end phones. I’ve had the android 10 update OTA without problems, and it’s been running fine.
In short: I’m happy with the 2pro (snapdragon 855+)
