Hello,
Im interested in picking up a brand new Mclaren Edition 7T Pro but, all the none T-Mobile ones are too high to justify the price, most expenisve being Giztop. What are the cons of buying a renewed Mclaren Edition or buying a new in box T-Mobile variant? Can I flash the global rom on the T-Mobile variant and make it just as good as a none carrier version or would flashing a custom rom do the same? Are there any advantages to buy a T-Mobile version?

I looked on Samsungs site and only see the 4 major carriers. I've been looking for an actual international GSM version because I'm tired of getting stuck with the At&t locked down, no fun standard device. I find very little info about the g928c which I'm only guessing at this point, is a European version. I ordered the 64gb At&t version but would sell my Nex 6, and my 128gb S6E for an unlocked S6+. Any luck finding anything else out would be great to hear.

You can buy a TMo phone & cell unlock it so it can be used internationally. Generally, TMobile phones come with an unlocked bootloader also, so they can be rooted. I use an unlocked TMobile phone on the AT&T network.

I am looking to buy an international unlocked as well, I was going to order one off eBay, but I am waiting for a silver 64gb to show up.
The carriers mark them up so I won't pay non contract price. Guess I'll wait until they are more available.
What are the differences in my options for purchasing a Verizon compatible LG V20? Direct from VZW, Best Buy, US996 version from Newegg/B&H.
What are the differences in the versions available from these vendors? Do we know yet? Thanks.
The Verizon model is VS995, it is the same model if you buy it from Verizon directly or Best Buy.
The US996 is carrier unlocked and will work on most US carriers, including Verizon. But the hope is that the US996 will have its bootloader unlocked like on the Tmobile model, which could lead to possible root.
indeed. the US has a few more frequencies and bands than the Verizon one. I believe Verizon has 17 and US has 21. seems the unlocked won't be shipping until November for B and h and Newegg and who knows if best buy is going to get it. I think my plan is to get the unlocked version when available and use it with Verizon. I'm not dealing with Verizon's crap, I'd much rather have an unlocked phone again.

I'm looking into a G6 for my next phone for us on Cricket Wireless (AT&T mvno). Can anybody weigh in as to whether I should go with the AT&T H871, or the unlocked US997? Any specific advantages or disadvantages to either? Thanks in advance for your opinions!
Get the unlocked version that way you'll be able to get on custom roms with Android 9 when it's released next fall. No advantage to getting the at&t locked version unless it's significant price difference
So I ordered a oneplus 6t factory unlocked on ebay. What I got was a T-mobile locked device, that when I tried to unlock actually did.
My question though is are there annoyances with using the t-mobile version on another carrier (t-mobile apps or any radio differences) that would warrant me to return it or should I just give them a low rating.
thanks!
Uh. Not sure. I have an International Variant but I've heard that there is the usual T-MOBILE Bloatware. But you can easily convert it to Global Variant by following the Guide in the Guides Forum. Just search T-MOBILE to International Conversion OnePlus 6T

That's on the seller to provide as MUCH information he can provide before he lists. I'd say if it works out for you in the end, it's fine. But....I would message him and see if he does know the difference between T-Mo and Int'l.
I would take the T-mo and flash Int'l, honestly. T-Mo is slow to update, and there's an Int'l Beta release almost every month. I think the official T-mo is 4 or 5 months behind.
Let us know!
The TMobile version is not the international version in my opinion. On top of not getting regular updates like the unbranded version. They have been trying to do things in newer software versions to prevent people from flashing it to international versions by adding extra checks, not that it has worked so far. The international version is also dual SIM and has two IMEI, the TMobile version only has one. I guess it depends what you paid for it, but I would not accept a TMobile version personally.

I agree completely.
Honestly, it doesn't really matter considering you can very simply convert a T-Mobile version into an International version.
The T-Mobile version by default is a few updates behind and doesn't support dual sim iirc. Like I said though, you can easily convert it and buy a sim card tray that supports dual sim if that's your thing.
Is it possible to flash oxygen 11 on this device
Doesn't seem like it. The issue as far as I can tell is that this particular model was T-Mobile specific, and 90% of the development from OnePlus is pointed towards the International/Generic version of the OnePlus 7T Pro. The Generic OnePlus 7T Pro doesn't support 5G, but our McLaren edition phones have more Memory, and supports 5G. I think our issue is we're bound by T-Mobile deciding which firmware to pickup from OnePlus, to test with their "QA" department, and then to release to us. OnePlus is fast, T-Mobile... not so much.
I think eventually we'll get it, but T-Mobile needs to load all their bloatware onto it first and then spend 6 months QA testing it, blah blah only to release it with bugs all the while OnePlus has released 2 or 3 updates since then.
That said... our best bet is the small handful of 3rd party developers who are working on this phone, releasing some kind of AOSP based ROM for this phone.
It's already confirmed that we are getting A11. I believe we will also get A12.
The reason there is no "global" or non-T-Mobile ROM available from 1+ for this device is that it was ONLY sold in the US, ONLY sold by T-Mobile, and is the ONLY 7T or 7T Pro variant worldwide with the X55 modem. They were able to get the global ROM on the T-Mobile OP7 because it's modem (and the rest of it's hardware) is the same as the global variants.
