Double Din chinese car head unit with custom software...any way around it?

Hey guys, I am really unsure where to ask or even if this is the forum to go to, but I've came across a few of these Chinese headunits online and they seem to be priced so well that I'd like to play around with it.

This is a 7" double din unit that I'd like to see if it's possible to install some other kind of operating system other then what's preloaded on this.
A fellow forum member has purchased it and it looks like a decent unit that will match our older (2003) volkswagens interior.

Does anybody know if it's possible to load up a different OS/Android onto these units? This one specifically is sold as Model 7018B

It's definitely not running Android. Might be a WINCE unit, or proprietary. I very highly doubt you can load anything else onto it. If you do want an Android radio you have to be sure to search for "pure android car radio". Also suggest not getting a AN21-U unit and try for the units with a RK3188 processor and look over to the unit with the MTCB MCU. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcb-android-head-unit-general

100% Impossible. Most of these run MIPS CPU's.

You need to open unit. There is board number written inside.
You need firmware for board version, not for the model. I installed firmware from gearbest and it bricked my unit (it was listed for model 7018b).
After few days searching i found out on other website about that.
It will be like this:
Model: 7018B
Board: 7022B-C500-V0.1
and then you can find firmware. Also you cant flash firmware through sdcard as there is no working firmware for that model.
You need to use CH431 programmer and flash directly eeprom chip.

I have a strange problem with this device.
All other phones got connected via bluetooth and play music fine.
Only Oneplus 7T when connected
music stutters.
Any workaround for it.

I have purchased a 7018B , 2GB , 16GB internal storage. It came with Oreo 8.1 installed and works great with Sygic GPS as well as Google Maps & Waze. I have also installed VLC for music playback. I have about 20GB music loaded onto a 32GB MicroSD. Great value - does all I want it to do.

btw ... im playing around with getting it to go to sleep/screensaver mode after X minutes of inactivity, but i'm not so strong in android coding. if anyone wants to give it a go.
in the meantime you can activate the screensaver/clock mode by pressing the LOGO.

Found a work around. Using "Automate" you can setup a timer and invoke the screensaver from the app every once in a while by running activity "com.autolauncher.screensaver.Clock_Activity"

They are stored inside the APK under "res\drawable-nodpi-v4"

Hi any chance you can customize one for Subaru

Themes
The linked files are packages for the complete free version of the program. The program now allows saving and loading themes (Pro version only. If you don't have the Pro version why not? It is brilliant!).
I assume that you have the Pro version - can you please upload just the themes so that I can continue to use the full App?

GRX TouchWiz Mod (For Non-Rooted Phone)

Hello Guys,
Most of them Wanted GRX TouchWiz Mode for Non-Rooted Phones So i have Modded the GRX to work on Galaxy Note-9 SM-N960F and SM-N960U Only (oreo 8.1) (No Root Required)
Installation Guide,
1) Install the TouchWiz.apk and GRXTouchWiz.apk as Normal Installation you do
2) If you have the SABS or Package disabler pro you disable the Samsung Touchwiz.apk (or you if dont have app to disable no issue, just go to settings and make touchwiz home in installed apps section as default Launcher)
3) Then go to settings and give permissions for the TouchWizHome.apk for Phone and storage and go to Advance options and then turn ON apps that can appear on top, and apps that can change system settings.
Thats it, all done
In case If the Installation fails then go to settings/Apps/(press on 3 dot option)/Show system app/Samsung Experience Launcher/(press on 3 dot option)/Uninstall Update/ Then Re-Follow the Installation Guide from 1st
Bugs in GRX TouchWiz mod
In landscape mode the apps text wont come and the widgets wont resize properly

its a bug in v8 officially but you press on the app and press the hide badge option (3d touch option of app)

you can uninstall this if you dont want, (there are more features like the icons go edge below the navigation bar much more explore in the GRX mode settings apk for more customisation

You need to install Headunit Reloaded Emulator to connect androidauto

Hello good day!!
This firmware does not work for me, I decompress it in the root of the Flashdrive and also put the compressed file, but since the system update it does not show me anything, as if there were no Flashdrive. Comparing with other firmwares that I have found searching the internet, this one seems to be missing files so it does not detect it. Putting other firmwares in the Flashdrive unit if it detects them and lets me update, but not with this one.

USB disk must be FAT32! If youre using big size disk (more then 32GB) use any program for format FAT32.

I saw somewhere that by installing the new UI that we would lose access to the pre-installed maps. Is that true?

Just ask your seller. He will provide the links to download the navigation app and several GB with the maps.
On the other side: who wants to use the pirated navigation software?!
I asked the publisher of the GPS app if they know what Junsun is doing there. His answer was that they don't have a contract with Junsun and it's pirated software.

Its works well, i also have link from junsun for 2020q4 maps with install apps if you need.

I tried to update my head unit by asking the support for the update files, but they gave me some files from Dec-2020 ! (updated anyway, and now I have an issue with google play : I'm unable to login, the login button being unresponsive ...)
So I m looking for a new (and possibly more recent) firmware
I downloaded yours, but there's a 0 octet file (the .upd file)
Could you please share it again ? I'd be awesome !

What a CPU model? This one is only for 8227. If you have other cpu, i am not recommened you install this FW.

It miiiight be a 8259 (the technical details on Aliexpress are not great, but the files the support shared are named 8259-something)

They need to be absolutely identical, not only the CPU.

Hi, I've just updated my Junsun V1 pro. New UI, a couple of bells & whistles, almost nothing more, except a new app shown both on homescreen & app list. That app is called " junsun Security". Somebody knows the purpose of that app? When launched, it simply asks for a (unknown) code...
Any info about this?

Just another question about new UI: There are 4 themes for choosing, but all 4 are almost identical. Is there a way to upload new themes? I know the alternetive is installing a 3rd. party launcher but, in order to avoid lags, I would prefer to keep original launcher...
