Installation
These Instructions are based on the LineageOS Wiki instructions.
Basic requirementsIMPORTANT: Please read through the instructions at least once before actually following them, so as to avoid any problems due to any missed steps!
Make sure your computer has adb and fastboot. Setup instructions can be found here.
Enable USB debugging on your device.
Unlocking the bootloaderNOTE: The steps below only need to be run once per device.
WARNING: Unlocking the bootloader will erase all data on your device! Before proceeding, ensure the data you would like to retain is backed up to your PC and/or your Google account, or equivalent. Please note that OEM backup solutions like Samsung and Motorola backup may not be accessible from LineageOS once installed.
TIP: It is highly recommended to have the latest official MIUI package installed on the device, before proceeding with unlock.
NOTE: The following instructions require a machine running Windows 7 or newer.
Create a Mi account on Xiaomi’s website.
TIP: A Mi account is required to unlock the bootloader. Beware that one account is only allowed to unlock one unique device every 30 days.
Add a phone number to your Mi account.
Insert a SIM into your phone.
Enable developer options in Settings > About Phone by repeatedly tapping MIUI Version.
Link the device to your Mi account in Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock status.
Download the Mi Unlock app (Windows is required to run the app).
Run the Mi Unlock app and follow the instructions provided by the app.
NOTE: The app may tell you that you have to wait up to 30 days. If it does so, please wait the quoted amount of time before continuing to the next step.
After device and Mi account are successfully verified, the bootloader should be unlocked.
Since the device resets completely, you will need to re-enable USB debugging to continue.
Installing a custom recovery using fastboot
Download a custom recovery - you can download the recommended lineage recovery here.
Connect your device to your PC via USB.
On the computer, open a command prompt (on Windows) or terminal (on Linux or macOS) window, and type:
adb reboot bootloader
You can also boot into fastboot mode via a key combination:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Down + Power. Keep holding both buttons until the word “FASTBOOT” appears on the screen, then release.
Once the device is in fastboot mode, verify your PC finds it by typing:
fastboot devices
TIP: If you see no permissions fastboot while on Linux or macOS, try running fastboot as root.
Flash recovery onto your device:
fastboot flash recovery <recovery_filename>.img
TIP: The file may not be named identically to what stands in this command, so adjust accordingly.
TIP: Some devices have buggy USB support while in bootloader mode, if you see fastboot hanging with no output when using commands such as fastboot getvar .. , fastboot boot ..., fastboot flash ... you may want to try a different USB port (preferably a USB Type-A 2.0 one) or a USB hub.
Now reboot into recovery to verify the installation:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Up + Power. Keep holding both buttons until the “MI” logo appears on the screen, then release.
Installing LineageOS from recovery
Download the UNOFFICIAL LineageOS installation package for Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite (toco) that you would like to install or build the package yourself.
If you are not in recovery, reboot into recovery:
With the device powered off, hold Volume Up + Power. Keep holding both buttons until the “MI” logo appears on the screen, then release.
Now tap Wipe.
Now tap Format Data and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption and delete all files stored in the internal storage.
Return to the previous menu and tap Advanced Wipe, then select the Cache partition and then Swipe to Wipe.
Sideload the LineageOS .zip package:
On the device, select “Advanced”, “ADB Sideload”, then swipe to begin sideload.
On the host machine, sideload the package using: adb sideload filename.zip.
check
TIP: If the process succeeds the output will stop at 47% and report adb: failed to read command: Success.
(Optionally): If you want to install any add-ons, repeat the sideload steps above for those packages in sequence.
Once you have installed everything successfully, run ‘adb reboot’.
WARNING: Depending on which recovery you use, you may be prompted to install additional apps and services. We strongly advise you to opt out of installing these, as they may cause your device to bootloop, as well as attempt to access or corrupt your data.

Hi NeoArian problem with microphone
@NeoArian Hi! I tried the rom, and everything is great! thanks! But the rom has problems with the microphone seems to not be working properly. It doesn't work on the Phone dialer, but it works on video camera and other apps but with bad audio quality and low volume on the microphone. I decided not to go back to MIUI, cause this is way way better, so I'll just wait when the fix comes up. Cheers!
Good evening!
Thanks for the reports about the microphone issue. I have fixed it and uploaded a new build: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ep...ge-18.1-20210518-UNOFFICIAL-toco.zip/download

Good Morning,
Fast Charging does not work correctly. It's limited to 15-20W instead of the possible 30W. The bad thing about it is that xiaomi has been doing something in system which i'm not aware of currently. Fastcharging does not work at all with MIUI vendor + MIUI kernel with an AOSP system image, i have at least got to the same state with OSS kernel and built vendor image but i didn't figure out what unlocks the real fastcharging.
Greetings, Arian.

You can flash the new updates without any wipes. Just go into recovery and flash the new zip. If you use lineage recovery connect your phone to your computer and use adb sideload.
I will setup automated weekly build with OTA functionality later.

I would recommend lineage recovery if you are able to use ADB sideload to update. TWRP would probably also work fine but I did not confirm that.

How to install Root for Apps on Android Nougat Custom Rom
Download and transfer the Lineage SU addon zip file from the download link above to your device’s storage.
Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
Tap on Install and select the Lineage SU addon zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of screen to begin the flashing process.
Once Lineage SU addon is flashed, you’ll get Reboot System option, select it.
How to Enable Root for Apps on Lineage OS
Once you’ve installed the Lineage SU addon zip, do the following to enable root for Apps on Lineage OS:
Enable Developer options: Go to Settings » About phone » Tap seven times on Build number.
Go back to Settings main menu and open Developer options from there.
Look for Root access setting, and set it to Apps and ADB or Apps only, as per your need.
That’s all. Your Android device running on Lineage OS should have full root access for apps now.
If you ever need to disable root access, just go to Settings » Developer options » Root access and select the Disabled option from there.

They(boot.oat) are being generated automatically if you compile any custom rom.Home button wakes up the device, I won't disable that feature. It is useful for everyone.

Hi there, i am thinking of buying this device for my gf because she needs something with a ****load of battery power. So this device seems the obvious choice. But i have a question:
i noticd that on every rom there is no led and no fingerprint. Is this something that will be added in the future or is it not possible due to unavailabe firmwares?
Kind regards

Do you mean rooting the stock firmware before flashing TWRP? No, not needed as zip will overwrite BOOT (kernel + ramdisk) and SYSTEM and CACHE and DATA will be wiped on factory reset.
If you meant not this but "should we flash addonsu after LineageOS", I'd say it is up to you, but I prefer having root access for DriveDroid and other root-only apps. If you need to pass SafetyNet, you can always turn it off in Developer settings.

Or install Magisk. But I made all official and unofficial builds to pass SafetyNet if root is turned off. Presuming you need root for special tasks, you can turn it on, do your work and turn it back off and SafetyNet will not suffer.

Thanks, I managed to flash it perfectly. Well the first time i had a error in TWRP. But I then tried again, this time erasing all internal data and it flashed fine.
Where I am stuck now is gApps. I get error 20 and ive tried various "fixes" in terms of install procedures found on xda.
What check boxes should we pick in the gapps site you've linked us to?
Any tips/advice?

edit: sorry just saw you said arm.
All installed now.
I was about to sell this tablet, due to lack of updates. But stumbling across XDA has no doubt forced me to keep this tablet, which I think is still a top tablet.
Anyway, ll seems good so far, many thanks for the hard work!

Hi
I rooted my device, just because it seemed simple to do so. Here:
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/root...10-5-lte-sm-t805-one-click-cf-auto-root-tool/
-Then I loaded custom recovery.
-Backed up anything I needed backing up
-Put the rom file, gApps (arm, 7.1, pico) onto a sd card
1. Boot into Recovery Mode (TWRP)
2. Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Select On (enable tick) for Dalvik / Art Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache,
3. Swipe to Wipe at Bottom of Screen,
4. Back to Main start screen,
5. Wipe > Format Data,
6. Type 'Yes' and press blue checkmark at the bottom-right corner,
7. Go Back to Main Start Screen to -VERY IMPORTANT---> Install Rom and GApps,
8. After you have finished installing the Rom and GApps > Wipe Cache/Dalvik > Swipe to Wipe
9. Reboot System
Job done.
Battery life appears to be much, much more stable now too. Apps also appear to be more stable, sky news used to crash every time I used it, at least once. Now it doesn't
Only bug i can see so far are the weather app not showing as a widget on the main screen under the clock. All is set and the recommended weather widget downloaded, but the weather just don't seem to appear. Also when having a pin on the lock screen, its only unlock-able via landscape mode and not portrait mode.

I have a perfectly working weather setup (including lockscreen weather) using OpenWeatherMap provider:
0. Remove all other weather providers, if downloaded
1. Install the OpenWeatherMap provider from LineageOS Extras
2. On the main screen, long-tap to have widget panel appear, then press "Widgets".
3. Add cLock widgetby long-tapping it to position on Main screen.
4. Under cLock widget settings open, select OpenWeatherMap as weather source on Weather tab and press a gear to enter website API key. When a permission dialog for GPS pops up, enable High Accuracy mode (that's esssential!)
5. Press OK everywhere to apply settings (dont use back button!)
6. Go to Settings - Security - Lock Screen and tap the gear to see Lockscreen Options. Tick the "Show weather on lockscreen" mark.
7. Let it load the weather and enjoy the notification in lockscreen.
Once you remove the cLock widget off main screen, the lockscreen weather will disappear.
Lockscreen rotation is enabled in Settings - Screen - Screen Rotation - Enable lockscreen rotation.

Got it with this instruktion. Thanks. Running the migration script via ADB while system is running did not work, but doing it via recovery was fine.
Hello! Thanks for your work! Excellent firmware! The tablet is back in service!

First time clean installation:
Code:
- Unlocked bootloader is required!
- You must have installed FW11 based ROM.
1 - Boot your device into fastboot mode:
adb reboot bootloader (or power off and power on again
while pressing Power + Vol Down)
2 - Flash Syberia recovery via fastboot
fastboot flash boot <name of the file>
3 - Reboot to recovery
4 - Perform factory reset (formatting data is important)
5 - Here you have 2 choices to install rom
1) Install > Sideload from ADB
on PC open terminal and type - adb sideload <rom zip name>
2) Install > install from sdcard or OTG
Just copy rom to the sdcard or OTG and install from it.
6 - Reboot to system, wait until rom booted, then reboot
in recovery again.
7 - Now you can install other zips (gapps, magisk etc) if needed by
using the methods described in the 5'th line of guide.
8 - If you flashed gapps, factory reset once more is a Must!
Updating:
Code:
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Here you have 2 choices to install rom
1) Install > Sideload from ADB
on PC open terminal and type - adb sideload <rom zip name>

This is fantastic!
But no matter what I do I can't install even core gapps. I flash them via adb sideload, perform a factory reset and nothing.. I feel like I've tried everything. There's no problem with Magisk tho. Can you please include some gapps in the rom?
Amazing news! Official ROM and latest Android version!
Hopefully the permissive SELinux can be sorted out with enough logs, but still, very nice work so far.
Does anyone can help me about the recovery via fastboot installation? I mean is there need to change slot e.t.c... And after recoverie's flashing, how we reboot to recovery, via a simple fastboot command? Thanks.

Yeah, a12 not so fast at gapps bringup, we have limited chose to BitGapps, Nikgapps or FlameGapps, and Nikgapps with FlameGapps have some issues while flashing it on some devices (already reported to the dev), and only BitGapps works fine, but there are only Minimal package.
However i created a modified Nikgapps(stock) package - download

Generally speaking, IMHO doesn't matter how you got into recovery be it by command or power+vol+

When you flash something over fastboot you are to manage slots. When you do by recovery it manages slots. So up to flashing the recovery you'll manage slots. Afterwards flashes are done by recovery. Since recovery changes slots when you flash rom or update. Both slots should have the same firmware level (e.g. android 11 firmware.) If you have incompatible firmware on other slot it may cause problems on next update or full flash. IMHO op should explain a bit more about slot management. The same process is known to cause unwanted problems before. You can check the lineageos 18.1 oss thread for it.

Hi,
Is it possible to safely install this ROM from android 10 stock EU version? (or, must I already be under A11 and in this case what should I do?)
I'm still stuck on A10 and the September 2020 security patch on my French version of the Mi A3
Sorry I'm a beginner
I think you must first update to a11. Do factory reset on your a10 first.

Problem is that I still do not have the possibility to do OTA to A11...
In France we are literally blocked on A10 and the September 2020 security patch...
Then you can flash it with mi flash.

If I were you I wouldn't rely on twrp for backup. Because once you update to A11 you ll have problem with twrp hence restoring it. On the other hand even if you are able to restore it somehow, probably you would end up with a bootloop anyway. Because when android version changes, data partition backup of other versions won't be compatible with newer one. I suggest you to have per app backup within os.
New update is out!
New update is out!
everything working fine, new icons and animations for udfps are pretty good and now it recognizes really fast. one thing i noticed is that the screen flicks when unlocking with figngerprint but just a little bit, its not something that really bothers as before. updating was fine without even needing to make a backup. anyways ty for, basically, the best rom for mi a3, if it wasnt that, i think we all would have already changed it. keep up the good work!
I just did the installation and the rom is fantastic!
Leaving Miui..
Everything seems to work very well.
Congratulations to those involved!!
Sorry for my english, I'm from Brazil

Notes
• Build type: User
• Encryption not supported, Decrypted by default
• Selinux is Enforcing
• FMRadio Included
• Do not flash recovery.img available on the spark download website
Flashing Instructions:
Clean flash (Coming from a different ROM):
• Download ROM
• Download Custom Google Apps Package (Like Nikgapps core/basic or Mindthegapps) if the ROM is Vanilla variant (On GApps ROM variant Google Apps are included, don't flash a separate Custom Google Apps package)
• Reboot to Recovery.
• Wipe System, Data, Vendor, Cache, Dalvik/ART cache partitions
• Flash latest stable firmware v11.0.3.0 before flashing ROM
• Flash ROM zip
• Flash Custom Google Apps Package if the ROM is Vanilla variant
• Reboot to system
To get root access, Reboot to recovery after ROM setup and flash Magisk.zip
BOOTLOOP SITUATION: If you are coming from stock/custom MIUI or any ROM which had data ENCRYPTION, you will face bootloop and can not boot into the system. In such case you need to FORMAT data after flashing the ROM. Otherwise the ROM won't boot (Read detailed instructions from here)
Dirty flash (Updating to a newer build):
• Download the new update ROM zip
• Reboot to recovery
• Do not wipe anything
• Flash the new update ROM zip
• Flash the same Custom Google Apps Package again you flashed before (For vanilla users)
• Flash Magisk again if you are rooted before (For rooted users)
• Wipe Cache and Dalvik/ART cache
• Reboot to system
Important note regarding SparkOS 13.6 update
This is a huge rebase of the ROM's source code after the March update, So Clean flash is MANDATORY for all users. Some bugs from previous versions have been fixed in this version and some new features can be noticed. Some customizations have been temporarily removed (eg: Smart charging, QS row & column customisation etc) and will be added in future releases (Read official community post).
You should be aware of some known source bugs in this release before updating to 13.6. These bugs are not device specific and are present in all Spark official devices which will be fixed in the next update.
Known bugs are;
1. Launcher settings are crashing with light theme (works fine with dark theme). You can use a different Launcher but I think Pixel launcher Extended will not work anymore as spark is now completely based on lineage
2. Shortcut buttons glitches in recent panel.
3. Visual glitch on Quicksettings/Statusbar after a reboot (Restarting SystemUI fixes it for now)

No issues with viper4Android here.
Check if you've rooted properly?
Or maybe you are using a mod version of viper4Android.
Been using it for half a year and it's the best Android 13 rom I tried (not that there's many that are up to date)

I used the repackaged v4a from github. Clearly something went wrong here if it's working at your end. I'll try again later when I'm home as I'll need to install from scratch having reverted to A12. Guessing maybe I just needed to reboot again or something. Here's the version I used:
GitHub - programminghoch10/ViPER4AndroidRepackaged: A refined ViPER4Android installer.

I have to say the smooth responsiveness on these new A12/A13 ROM builds is surprising given how often A11 would lock up for me. Maybe my device just finally needed a reset idk.
OK. Mystery solved. Turns out that Viper4Android does indeed work - it just needed an extra reboot.
So I flash it > reboot > v4a App appears on next boot but doesn't work > reboot again > v4a works.
Weird but makes sense. Sorry for the confusion.
I couldn't receive this kind of google login authorization on this rom "is it you trying to sign in". Device wasn't appearing in google account double verification. No problem in a13 elixir.
Also sadly no option 2g connectivity.
Rom itself seems smooth. ATM moved back to A10
I have problem, the screen show on/ off at redmi boot logo
CPU cores seam to be locked to 1400 mhz
Hello İ installed latest Spark OS gapps build on my a205f i loved the rom but it has a bug phone screen freezes cant close the screen no reaction to calls, notifications, holding down the power button the only solution is to wait for the battery drain it happened 2 times what can i do i guees this build is laggy
This is possibly a long shot but any chance of modified files for higher quality audio on Bluetooth SBC (or AAC)? It used to be you could patch it in via Magisk but the module no longer works on newer android versions and if I'm correct the edits need to be made before a ROM is built. If you're able to, any chance of some experimental files for me to try out?
I think the values are in a2dp_sbc_encoder for SBC, a2dp_aac for AAC. A2DP_XXX_DEFAULT_BITRATE 000 where XXX is SBC or AAC and 000 is the bitrate in kbit/s.

Hi,
I installed this rom, until I see it I'm liking it, but the screen rotation doesn't work.
Any idea?
Thanks...
Hello everyone, just flashed this ROM on my Vince (coming from Elixir 3.3 - A13).
Since I use this phone to debug my apps, I need to connect Chrome DevTools to it.
What I've done so far:
- wiped everything
- installed Spark-13.3-Official-vince-20230105-gapps
- installed Magisk 25.2
- registered my Google account
- updated all apps (through Play Store)
- enabled Developer options, then USB debugging
Now, when I launch Chrome DevTools on PC, I can see the phone but the webpages list is empty; it also doesn't show any WebView instance (see the screenshot below).
Remote debug was working with Elixir 3.3 on the same phone and PC, so I suppose the difference is in some ROM setting... something to be changed here, but I'm out of ideas...
Does anyone have any suggestions about this?

First, make sure you have enabled auto rotate screen option. It is disabled by default.
If it's enabled send a screenshot from sensor test app (available in playstore). ROM doesn't have issues auto rotates screen.

Seems like you messed up persist
So flash persist.img via recovery (in persist partition) and reboot into system. Do not wipe anything.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 13 (T), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Githup repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.
Installation:
If you are on stock OS, you need a custom recovery first. You can get the recommended TWRP recovery in the installation instructions link below.
If you are coming from stock or other ROMs, you need to make a factory reset.
As always, make sure to backup before installing this ROM.

Special thanks to @Astridxx & @XiaoAk for the device tree sources and to @Astridxx for (once again) helping me out
Important Notes:
As you can see from my profile, I'm not an experienced developer. I've made some builds as a considerable amount of users showed interest in having their devices updated with latest LineageOS code. Therefore, my main objective here is to bring the latest Android security patches to kuntao making monthly builds.
To be clear, I'm more in a situation of "user became builder" than of "ROM developer". Please, understand this.
Long live to our beloved kuntao!

Great work! Will test it when I have time, been waiting for this..
Hi all. I read these P2 forums for long time, but never participated. I love our P2 phone, riding a P2 since the release date and never changed. Now I got a message from my bank that the android version is too outdated to use their banking app, and they want me to switch to a newer OS. I could have ditched the P2, but couldn't. Therefore....easiest solution was to buy a second one xD I will test on the backup unit some of the roms available here, probably starting from the roms of @leo_97 . I need a stable daily driver, thus when I find something that works for me I will freeze it there for some time. But, in the meantime, I can help out with testing, starting from mid April onwards thus, feel free to contact me, and I will be a bit more active (and not passive) here in XDA for the coming months.
Cheers to all, and thanks @leo_97 , @Astridxx, @XiaoAk (and @mikeioannina for all the past efforts on P2!).
Hi
I just tested it on a P2 for a few hours and it works great! Thanks!
Is there any way to get full device encryption to work?
If I understand correctly, someone can access the phone's files even if you have a pin or password as it is now.

You are welcome
So, IFAIK we don't have a way to make FDE work on A13 ROMs, A13 moved to FBE (File Based Encryption) which is not supported by 3.18.x kernel and we don't have rn a patch available that could enable it on our kernel version.
Regarding data access, I believe so. Without storage encryption, booting into recovery will already give access to the files. IIRC to this date encryption is fully working only on A11-based ROMs and maybe on some A12 ones.
Okay, so I'm stuck in a boot loop. I flashed the ROM from the link above but the phone won't start up. I just get the Lineage booting screen with the circle moving right to left. I've left it for 15 minutes just in case the first boot was slow but nothing else happens. I've tried to restore my original backup which was Lineage 17.1. It seemed to work, no errors from TWRP but now i just get the Lenovo screen and then it boots to fastboot mode. I flashed Lineage 20 for a second time but the same happened. I tried a different backup from August last year, again it just boots to fastboot.
Any ideas?
Cheers, Si.
EDIT: I've just noticed that I missed out step 3, reboot to recovery between Data wipe and flash ROM.
Now it boots no problem.
Cheers, Simon.
EDIT AGAIN: I still can't revert to either of my previous backups of Lineage 17.1. I would really like to be able to do this. Can anyone suggest why it will only boot to fastboot mode after a seemingly successful restore?
Thank you,
Simon.
@simes303
Don't know what the problem is, but I'd flash stock via fastboot. Then reinstall TWRP and restore LOS.
When things go wrong it's better to start from scratch rather than tinkering around and doing temporary fixes.
how is the battry life anyone?

Hi,
How is this different from flashing stock with TWRP?
Cheers, Si.
Used briefly but battery life seems worse, its like draining. Using 12L Lineage os and its way better.

Didn't test much but its way waay noticable, you wouldn't want to use when you see the difference (didn't differ with or without gapps)
btw thx to all devs, using lineage os a12.1 and its good on battery
Battery life for me is considerably better than the Lineage 17.1 that I was using before, no question. I'd estimate almost twice the duration. I'm very happy with this ROM, thanks to all involved in developing it.
Simon.
I've actually just bought a brand new 64 Gb Lenovo P2 pretty cheap from eBay and I will definitely be flashing this Rom onto it.
Thanks again,
Simon.
Hi,
Does this ROM have USB OTG support? I can't get the phone to connect to either my external SSD drive or my bicycle helmet camera since I flashed this ROM. Both these things connected via OTG cable to my phone when I was running Lineage 17.1 and they also connect to the new P2 that I bought recently that still has stock OS. I've tried three OTG checker apps which all state that my phone is OTG compatible.
Thanks, Simon.

Hello Simon,
Yes, it does have OTG support. IFAIK it should work correctly with both FAT32 and NTFS partition types on external storage devices.
