Hi, I installed OmniROM on my ASUS ZenFone 6 today and it was working well until...
I was changing the lock screen settings when it suddenly went back to the "OMNI" boot animation screen, and then once it reaches the lock screen, it repeats.
I don't think the device is actually restarting, but the boot animation is played in a loop... I think something in lock screen is wrong and it is crashing the entire phone
How do I fix this without wiping the data?
I found the cause of the bug, it happens after selecting a schedule for dark mode in settings. I made a video recording: https://odysee.com/omni-11-dark-theme-scheduled-crash:a

Stock ROM and not rooted.
My lock screen sometime freeze over. Sometime it just need a couple seconds until I could unlock my phone, another time I need to beat the home button.
-Reducing the animation scale to half did reduce the freeze frequency
-Changing unlock effect to none doesn't help at all,
-I also disabled shortcuts and multiple widgets option, yet still it freeze
-Disabling CPU power saving also didn't work
But the screen still recognize my touches, it just won't let me unlock.
Only when I disable the animation effect, then it won't freeze. But what's the point of buying hi-spec gadget if it can't handle even HALF animation scale? anyone have the same experience? Know how to solve it? Please help, thanks

Disabling animation effect is no good too, although the frequency is greatly reduced

Factory reset does solve the problem, it only happened twice after factory reset. (Done the factory reset for almost 1 month ago)

Lock Screen freeze I9500 JB 4.3
I have the same problem in my lock screen, it freeze even after factory reset, reducing animation and disabling the lock screen effect !
do you guys have any suggestion to solve this problem completely and why it happens with some I9500 users?!
Thank you
A weird one this.
On my stock Note 3 with 4.3 firmware, everytime I boot up, I get this sequence
Splash screen and music play
Lock screen appears and I see the network bars appear
Bang - back to splash screen again
Lock screen appears and it seems to have lost the network
Bang - back to splash screen again
Lock screen appears and I see the network bars appear again.....
Sometimes it does one further cycle of this but eventually it settles down. If I boot up in airplane mode, then there are no repeats of the splash screen.
Any idea what is upsetting my Note 3?

I believe those are often timing-generated glitches related to mounting EFS and/or to SELinux / knox. I have seen similar a few times, in my case usually after a new Wanam Xposed + changes in more advanced settings there.
IMHO you should be more worried if that happens every single time.
Have been using PA 6.0 for Nexus 7 flo for a few days. It has been a decent experience so far except these two problems-
1. There is a significant amount of lag at the multitasking screen when you are attempting to switch between apps the tab freezes for a few seconds. Sometimes I have to reboot to make it work again.
2. Have been getting random reboots quite a few times like one per day. While using it suddenly goes blank and shows up the 'Google' logo followed by the boot animation and it would start up again. (no bootloops though)
Everything else is working fine for now.
Edit: The lag only comes into play when Auto rotate is on in landscape mode or when switching between potrait and landscape mode.
I have an ASUS Nexus 7 2012 Wifi (grouper). I have installed a custom rom and recovery on this device. (This didn't cause the issue)
It was on its original firmware and I was playing a lite game on it. (King of Maths) I was playing and scrolling through game menus hen suddenly the device shut down without warning the screen just turned off. Then I rebooted it (turned on with power button) and immediately started glitzing with artefacts on the screen, and touch didn't work in some places. A few years later I tried to revive it with lineage os 14.1. It had worked and was running the software, but the glitch was still there. and when I pull down notification shade, (only on home screen) and tried to just brightness with slider. The touch stopped.
Anyway I can fix this?
Thanks, Yeebee

Just so that I understand, are you saying that upon adjusting the brightness, the touchscreen failed to respond? It seems odd that it would do that. Does the touchscreen work at all anymore? If you could enable developer options and usb debugging then it would be very useful to post the 'adb logcat' output.
My Note 3 has occasional problems during boot and consistent problems during lock screen.
Occasionally during boot instead of seeing the Samsung logo during startup the screen becomes pixellated and unchanging - i.e. a bunch of random pixels. The phone continues to boot up otherwise and the OS works. To buy-pass the boot problem I need to take the battery out of the phone for about 2 minutes (or more) and it would normally boot fine after that. When it boots up I often see a part of the screen momentarily go pixellated before it starts the usual boot loop.
When the devices boots up fine lock screen has problems. When I turn on lock screen the screen remains black thereafter and soon reboots.
I have SM-N9005 with LineageOS 18.1 +microG + Magisk. I don't think the problem is due to LOS because boot problems existed in the previous OS (Android 5), and lock screen problems occasionally came up. I hoped installing LOS will sort out the problems, but alas... I have tried using an app called Wakelock v3 to sort out the screen lock problems in the same way as for Note 4, but the app seems to have made no difference. Since installing LOS I have not had a single successful lock screen, with or without the app.
Any help or advice appreciated.
