LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 11, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Githup repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Will Try this one this evening
How is battery? On par with android 9?
I'm also curious about the battery life. It's terrible on los17.
Flawless installation, now I try to install magisk.
Same as crdroid, also in Los I get safetynet fail.
Also I have a problem receiving SMS. No messages come to me. Sending is ok.
Ok setting messages on chat mode and sending and receiving is ok.

Battery dropped 4 % during the 6hours ,with all modules off.
Id say that battery life is pretty much the same as los 17.1. So far crdroid 11 has the best battery backup, almost 2 days of normal usage, with 6hr of sot. But crdroid has too low sound level during calls. Barely hear anything being outdoor.

Facing this same low sound level issues with Havoc OS 4.4(Android 11). How can I get rid of this issue? is there any way to raise the earpiece volumes?

I'm trying your rom since a few days.
Would You be kind or able to deactivate the "annoying" sound which is heard when starting the phone, just before entering my pin code ?
(Most of) other roms don't do that.

If you ask more than one user, each will give you a different answer.
It all depends on what we expect from the rom and how we use our smartphone.
I personaly don't use fingerprint, I don't listen to the radio, I don't watch TV, I don't make videos, …
I mainly use my phone for handling my SMS, my mails, my agenda, my bank app, … as also apps from various providers.
Up to now, I didn’t meet any bugs (7 days trying).
I'll avoid being overly critical of you, but my phone's battery consumption certainly doesn't compare.
I use my phone round an hour a day : +- 10-12% if I left my phone in standby all the day.
Historically I have always had a preference for LineageOS.
I also tried other roms Android 11 such as Fluid, Havoc, Pixel Experience : the choice of a rom is always for me a question of personal taste.

Hy,i search the best rom with HTC sense 3.5
There is a rom with the dormianx kernel and app2SD?
Now i use a CM7.2 rom with the dorimanx kernel and it's very fast and have a great battery use. So i search something like this but with HTC sense
If someone can help me i'm very gratful
Try coredroid the battery is gr8 also the speed ;-)
I would suggest Team Blue DROID rom
If version 7.9 is stable with the lockscreen I would say MwakiousRUNNINGrom.
LOVED that rom, specially version 3.0 but now I am looking for a Rom that has Tweaks (RCMix3D Tweaks) and Beats Audio.
the MwakiousRUNNINGrom has this, but is so unstable in the lockscreen, sometimes it works and sometimes not.
I'm using the Sense 3.5 rom from Team Blue Droid at the moment (Beats won't work ), but when MwakiousRUNNINGrom 7.9 is out I really will give it a try (again....)

beats audio doesnt work on any rom unless you have beats audio headphones
its all a figmant of imagination that beats audio will work on the hd2
@Kameirus (yeah I pressed quick reply instead of quote lol)
Guess it will never really work on the HTC HD2 because it doesn't have the hardware for it.
But, I do hear a sound difference on the rom "SENSATION XL V 3.0 stock ALL IN ONE" by haldric with my friend's Beats Solo headphone.
Yes, I also think thats really weird.

excatly you hear the difference with beats headphones
not the stock headphones or phone speaker
thats why it was removed from the TBD roms
not many of us can afford 200 dollar headphones lol
team blue droid, IMHO
all work but not without some bugs, ... but this is the best =) thanks to creators
I've been using it since I saw sens ROM

Haha, I lolled at that last line
I am also looking for a Sense with Tweaks + Beats because I want to buy a "Beats by Dr. Dre Beats Pro" for my girlfriend's birthday.
But ofcourse if the Beats Audio does not work it doesn't make sense to get her this headphone.
The only thing that made music sound better trough my stock headphones is Volume + (Sound Boost) the payed version.
thanks to all I'm trying the team blue v3.4 but for me it have to much bugs i think i will return to my old cm7.2
But if will be corrct all the most important bugs I will be happy to give an other chance at team blue's rom

my feedback on TBD 3.4
Hi,
some feedback I have on the TBD ROM:
* overall acceptable experience, but not bug free
* still have to reboot about once a day, system freezes from time to time
* had to set settings/power/sleep mode to off. Otherwise the phone seems to loose the settings/wireless&networks/Mobile networks/always-on mobile data setting.
* had to switch off facebook live updates. Serious battery hog.
* had to set settings/power/power mode to normal. Economy mode seems to freeze the phone when battery level is too low, and prevent restarting.
(very weird bug: did not want to start with battery X which ran down the day before, but did so with battery Y. Still, both batteries had about the same charge level. Had to push reset to get the phone starting with battery X. And yes, tested both with 10 sec off battery interval, so reset should not have been needed)
* it does not want to sync mail overnight, even with the correct settings in setting/accounts&sync on the individual accounts, and sleep mode off.
* SMS delivery notifications do not work: settings keep coming back to 'off'. Think I've seen it working once, but no more.
* built-in wifi and USB tethering do not work. wifi tethering beacon info does not publish WPA (and therefore makes it impossible to connect) and above that, it makes the phone crash when enabled for the 2nd time in a row. USB tethering keeps saying it is unable to activate. Using Barnacle now (which also complains about wpa).
* android rants, very probably not TBD related:
* calendar notifications in the notification bar do not disappear when read from the calendar directly. I now have to acknowledge meetings twice.
* tasks and notes do not sync seamlessly. Too many apps involved, too many flavours, too many clicks/taps. (using MyPhoneExplorer for the moment)
Not business ready.
overall impression of this android version compared to WM:
+: better apps, web sites with flash, better on line experience. side by side agendas.
-: slower, more bugs, less battery life, more hussle
But hey, I still stick with it after 4 days, so it's no too bad. Will try a faster SD card, to see how it behaves then.
(Using stock TBD 3.4 in NAND, latest CLK, class 4 SD card, from fresh clean latest WM official rom )

Don't waste your money on a new SD card if you don't already have one, it shouldn't make any difference to your experience. If necessary, move all of your heavily used apps to internal storage, this will make them less buggy and more responsive, and will allow them to load much faster on boot.
APN error for SFR (France)
Hi,
just to let you know, the built in APN definitions are wrong for SFR (France) in TBD 3.4:
APN 'full internet'/sl2sfr should have 'APN type' set to 'default' and not 'default, hipri'.
Otherwise 3G/3G+ won't turn on, and negotiation at data connection start will take longer. Being stuck to Edge and GPRS is a bit of a shame...

Hi folks,
Since my OP5 will arrive today, i want to prepare my OP2 for giveaway.
Actually i am on Ressurection Remix android 6 and looking for the last rom to flash.
I would like to see a Nougat rom( Not necessary, Marshmallow i also ok, but not below) with a simple UI and more important, a great battery life. Since i am giving the phone to my dad(no Power user^^, he even doesnt use cellular data just WIFI) I am also looking for kernel settings saving energy with downvolting or other settings. Basically the phone just should be able to handle Line and other messaging services, calling, camera and a little bit of surfing.
If Somebody has suggestion what to flash, setup in Kernel settings and/or other "hacks" improving battery setting to the max(while still smooth) i am Thankful
Best regards

Cosmic OS is good currently i am on that one.....but if you are looking for lil better battery go for Flyme 6 official one IN version.
Personally the easiest way to keep him up to date would be with lineage and using a lineage updater from the play store. That way he will always have the security updates.
If you're giving it to someone who doesn't know about custom roms and stuff, I think it's best to leave it stock, as it is reliable and mostly stable.
With that kind of usage, I would say unofficial lineage by seraph08 with franco kernel with all the battery life labs option turned on and naptime.
For the purposes you listed, here's the setup I'd recommend:
Stock OOS 3.6.0
Boeffla Kernel w/ The Peterle's Impulse tuned v 3.1 profile
Naptime
Network set to 2G (or 3G, whatever's the lowest available on his network)
I've set up an OP2 with a similar set up and have got an easy 5-6 hr SOT.

XENON XD is all you need
I have been switching between different ROMs in the past four months, I'm now a long time redmi 3 user since I have mine since it came out in 2015, even though is smashed a lot I have no plans for a new phone at this time LOL
Let's go to the point
Resurrection Remix 5.8.5
A nice ROM, everything works right after installing and is pretty smooth, in terms of customization this one has everything you can imagine and you can't too
what did I like
The posibilities of tweaking the status bar, plus it gives your phone a longer life span in terms of software, as it will get longer support.
Doze mode
What I did not like
UI Lagging/stuttering eventually, when using chrome and typing something in a webpage is such a nightmare (this happens always), as the text takes up to 5 seconds to appear
CPU Sleeping bugs sometimes, soemtimes it takes a longer time to wake the processor, causing an unbearable lag, is eventually fixed by locking and unlocking the screen again. and sometimes i have to force reboot
Bluetooth battery barely shows on random devices, and is not accurate
Lockscreen (I like AOSP a lot, but the lockscreen replacing your wallpaper when music is playing is just ridiculous)
Camera lacks some image quality
MIUI 8.1.1.0 by Xiaomi.eu
The ROM I probably will keep using for a really long time, has no rival in terms of smoothness, and offers longer battery time no matter what you use it for, and what is better, without letting you down on performance. Even is on Lollipop, this one keeps pleasing me
What I Like
Performance, the UI is smooth and launcher never lags
Battery life, I'm a heavy user and this by far lasts longer than any other, is obvious at this was specially designed for the chip it runs on
Integrated Clean Master/CM Security/Whatever it is
Themes, endless personalization out-of-the-box
specific Xposed Framework for MIUI (by @SolarWarez) newer versions have always conflicted with themes and modules
XMIUI by the same developer, no words needed, is the GravityBox for MIUI plus extra functionality
Lockscreen, I like the album art over the screen, not as background and the player as notification
Hidden CPU power mode selection (Use QuiclShortcutMaker to access it, removed on newer versions above 8.1.1.0)
What I did not like
I'm using a non OEM replacement display and very often I have to force-reboot (in RR it bugs but at least I can get to the reboot option and reboot safely)
Could be Marshmallow at least
Some weird bugs when using Magisk (I use system root as I don't give a damn about SafetyNet)
After dalvik cleaning some apps have a "rough start"
I remember having the best battery life (with the screen off) with RR-UNTEST, but eventually I gave up and budged myself back over to MIUI 9. There's honestly not much reason to use MIUI 8 outside of being able to use xMIUI, but if you're fine without what it brings then honestly the xiaomi.eu rom is pretty much the best one to go for. This phone is essentially good as dead now, unfortunately. If I remember correctly, Xiaomi have announced that it's not going to be receiving a major version upgrade (i.e. no MIUI 10) and because of it running on Lollipop, it's stuck on the January 2017 security patches. Custom ROM development has largely stopped completely, save for the build bots that are still chugging away (see: LineageOS 14, AOKP and Mokee) and a stable version of LOS 15 that doesn't haemorrhage battery extremely quickly hasn't come despite the long wait. There's no reason to not stick with standard MIUI 9 now and to be honest, soon as I've saved up enough, I'm going to be jumping ship to a different phone.
In my case, best for R3 is MIUI 9.5 from MIUI.eu. Great, great battery life and all work like a charm. There is no any single lag/bug on my phone.
Tried many custom roms, but always back to MIUI.eu.
I got little worm in my ass and want to try RR 5.8.5 with chtholly kernel and AOKP with same kernel and GovTuner...but I know that will be back to MIUI.eu

It's literally being built right now lol
hello @theimpulson, @npjohnson, I was able to upgrade from official lineageOS 18.1 to official 19.1 successfully, the system represents good stability in general, although I have found these bugs.
======Overall error and performance report=======
-Sometimes the system freezes and restarts when I format the MicroSD as portable storage.
-The error still persists in the installation of applications that exceed 500mb or download of additional content from the playstore in adoptable storage(It starts to corrupt the files and sometimes when you transfer the files to the microSD in the adoptable storage, some of them get corrupted).
-Native screen recorder does not record system audio.
-Sometimes the interface feels a bit slow, but it does not affect daily use.
-The new camera application does not have the option to save the videos or photos to the memory card.
-The native voice recorder does not have the option to save the records on the memory card and its options are not translated into Spanish.
-The native AUDIOFX equalization application sometimes applies the adjustments made from the interface (I think it may be because it has remained in its version 2.2.0 and has not received an improvement in the last 2 years, since android 10 LineageOS 17.1 that is in that version), it would be great if the EQ Reverb option would work on this device .
-The transmission of content over Wi-Fi has unfortunately lost performance compared to the previous version, an approximate loss of 17 to 28% , sound cuts are persistent and this also affects the image but to a lesser extent (In the previous version, the transmission was practically stable at all times).
-occasional slowness in the operating system, from what I see the system moves without difficulty with this device, but sometimes it loses that performance, so I think that optimization in the call of the processes would be lacking to improve its performance.
-The vibrate of the device responds late and this happens on several occasions and can become somewhat annoying .
-There are occasional leaks in the ram memory, generating performance problems and forcing the device to restart.
-Occasional audio cuts when using the microphone of the bluetooth headphones (as an alternative solution when this happens, it is to restart the device with a charge greater than 30%).
-When pressing from the notification bar in do not disturb mode, the device sometimes loses its performance completely, having to restart the device, a somewhat strange error, which did not usually occur in previous versions of LinegeOS.
=======What works well======
-There has been an improvement of approximately 7% in the audio recording by microphone with the WhatsApp application compared to the previous version.
-Good operation of the sound in the speakers of the device with this version of android.
-Despite the drop in performance that the device sometimes suffers, the connection to the bluetooth headset is approximately 5% faster.
-Image effects in all apps are well done and look great on the device .
-The calls are quite stable, I have even improved the recovery of the signal in areas of poor coverage .
-In general the performance of the system is quite good to be the first compilation of this new version.
-Everything else is working correctly so far (I haven't tried all the features of the new android version yet).
I have to congratulate again @theimpulson, @npjohnson for their great effort to bring a new version of android for this Nokia 6.1 device

Does that mean that in order to try out this rom I have to be on LOS18.1?
Because I'm on stock oreo and it feels awkward to install LOS18.1 then LOS19.1.

Потому что я на стоковом Oreo, и мне неудобно устанавливать LOS18.1, а затем LOS19.1.

you can't fast boot boot, you need to flash it and boot to recovery.
What are the steps to install this custom if currently on another custom rom. Plz in detail.

same as from stock - see the wiki install guide.
I successfully flashed the lineage os and it was a stable experience and was great. But to update the rom do i need to manually adb sideload or it will be automatically updated through updater.

Oh ok thanks.
By the way I was wondering can I use that new iOS-to-Android whatsapp transfer feature?
You can read more about it here but basically it allows you to connect an iphone via a usbc-lightning cable and transfers all whatsapp data to the android phone.
It should be present in an android 12 rom but I'm worried that since the rom has no otg support I wouldn't be able to use it so any idea about this?
Thank you in advance and pardon me if my questions don't relate much to the purpose of this thread.
And another piece of info you might find useful, back in the day when I was on the official LOS17.1 (Android 10) that you guys made, I was able to use the otg even though it wasn't supported.
I would first plug in my otg usb (and the phone wouldn't recognize it) and then power off the phone, then unplug the otg and turn my phone on, and when it's done powering on I put the otg back into my phone and it would recognize it normally.
I didn't have any external kernels or twrp or anything back then, just the official los with magisk.
And the trick used to work almost always (about 95% of the time or more) but I don't know which step of it is the important one as there may be steps I did that were unnecessary.
I hope this can help.
======New bug and performance report=======

It is only an approximate, I am guided by the performance that I have experienced in the previous version of android, but it is only an approximate.
but as I mentioned being the first build of this new version, the overall performance is excellent and @npjohnson I have to congratulate him for his hard work and dedication for making the decision to keep bringing this device to life .
Thank you very much for your work! I'm eager to test it
What isn't clear to me from the instructions: Is it necessary to first sideload the 19.1 recovery image or is the 18.1 recovery sufficient?

You can use 18.1 recovery
Hello everyone,
As Android 10 and above seem to be a bit sluggish for this device, I decided to make an Android 9 LineageOS 16.0 build for my soon 9 year old SM-T800 tablet. It seems to be much smoother and stable then Android 10 and even while doing heavy web browsing, watching YouTube in 1080p or using Google Maps navigation in satellite mode, nothing crashed for me. The only issue I found is that the tablet gets a bit hot when actively using it. To sorta mitigate the issue, I recommend rooting the device, installing a kernel manager and limiting the CPU frequency to 1700MHz (where default is 1900MHz). The ROM itself has been very stable to use, only camera video recording and fingerprint scanner are not working as of now.
What works?
Boot
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Front and back cameras (photos only)
Video playback
Audio
Sensors
Flash
GPS
Microphone
What doesn't work?
Video recording in camera
Fingerprint scanner
Bluetooth is randomly hanging up when connecting peripherals
Offline charging
You tell me the rest
This build is SELinux Permissive!
Flashing instructions (clean flash):
Ensure you're on the latest Marshmallow firmware for your tablet
Use LATEST OFFICIAL TWRP, or LineageOS recovery (attached with the ROM)
Wipe Data and System partitions from recovery
Flash ROM zip from internal storage, SD Card, USB OTG or ADB sideload
Flash GApps (optional, my recommendation is OpenGApps 9.0 arm pico or nano)
Flash Magisk (optional)
Reboot and voila!
Otherwise, this ROM is good for users who wants better smoothness and stability and doesn't want to downgrade all the way down to Android 7.1.
If anyone wants a build for a model different than chagallwifi, tag me and I can try to build (You'll have to test it yourself!).

For cpu temperatures/speed limits,
Which cpu govenor in the kernel did you use?
You could build a version with the kernel limiting to 1700Mhz so people need to mess around with root.
I recommend upgrading the thermal pads inside the tablet as well

I currently can't find the cause of the sensor not working. It reaches the fingerprint setup successfully, but holding or sliding my finger on the home button doesn't seem to do anything.
Hi Just a quick question.. my understanding is that android 9 does not support dark mode, that your screenshot almost seem to suggest that it does.
my reason for asking is that I am visually impaired, and really can't read anything on a white background. anyway just wanted clarification before I try out this rom.
Cheers

Hi! Android 9 has a partial dark mode. The built in system apps as well as the system UI is dark, but third party apps do not support this dark theme and are light by the default. Many third party apps can be manually set to dark theme.

thanks, I think I'll give it a crack, i'm using the latest Lineage 20 build from another thread and to be honest it's super buggy lol. If this doesn't work out I can always go back to the 17.1 build which was actually pretty stable, but as you point out it's a bit on the sluggish side. Cheers
Or you might try unofficial LineageOS 18.1 (A11) which perfectly supports dark theme. I'm running it on my SM-T805 without any problems.

The problem I found with A10+ ROMs is that some slightly graphics heavier apps or even Google Maps in the browser can crash itself or even lock up the tablet completely.
For those graphics apps I can't tell. But Google Maps I use a lot and it's absolutely stable.

The app itself works fine, but the Google Maps website will likely crash when it's opened in a browser when starting to navigate around the map. And there are many other websites that do crash the browser as well.

Watching youtube works fine, as that's all i do with this tablet now, other than checking my email. Setting up the e-mail did freeze the tablet a couple of times
hello,
So I tried out this rom and wanted to report back my findings.
I found it to be both stable and fast, but there were a few issues, which has led me back to 17.1 LuisROM which given my particular needs really does seem to be the best option. I have actually tried both18 and 20, but neither of them are as stable as17.1, at least based on the particular set of apps I use.
Anyway, the issues I had were:
1) the partial dark mode support was certainly not bad, but given the fact that apps don't follow the system theme, and I could find no way of setting the Google app to dark mode, it was less than ideal. this is no fault of the build at all It's just a limitation of being Android 9, and I imagine for most people it would not be an issue nor a reason not to use this ROM
2) I had a weird issue when I shut the tablet down and plugged it in to power source. The battery icon showed and and then the tablet froze up, so that if I disconnected it from the power source the battery icon still continued to display and the only way to boot it back up was to press and hold the home key, volume down and power. this would seem to suggest there is an issue with the Kernal/ boot loader.
3) I have the official Samsung case with built-in keyboard, but there appeared to be a problem with bluetooth and I simply could not get it to connect. this was the deciding factor like to go back to 17.1
Cheers

Hello, I'm sorry for the issues you experienced with the ROM. I checked both of the issues and the offline charging issue seems to be there for me too. As you mentioned, it might be related to kernel, but I sadly can't find the actual cause of it as I'm still pretty new new to the world of Android development and I'm still learning how everything works. The Bluetooth issue is something I have now experienced as well. I tried connecting a pair of BT earbuds and they seem to be stuck at connecting at the Bluetooth page in settings. For now I'll update the known issues with those two bugs and maybe one day I'll find out what causes them. And by the way, since you now installed Android 10 on your tablet, how is it for browsing sites? Do sites crash often? Since this is the main thing I use the tablet for (and occasionally watching YouTube and navigation in the car).
Cheers

Hey there,
I wouldn't exactly call myself a power user, but I have not suffered a single website crash on the particular build I am using, Which I believe was created by a very knowledge Developer last year. It might be worth noting that I use Samsung Internet browser, Which in my opinion offers by far the best overall experience, Including a flawless dark mode option that seems to work for every website.
One thing I will mention about the spilled is that the developer seems to have gone AWOL and the download link to his builds no longer works. That said, I have a copy of the build on my google drive, download link SM-T800 Lineage 17.1
Give it a spin and see what you think, Overall I'm very happy with its stability and performance. Because of my visual impairment I mostly use audio based apps, such as Google Podcast, Audible, Poweranp Pro, But I also occasionally use Newpipe and VLC player and again, have not had any issues.
PS Good on you for creating your own build, I almost considered trying to do it myself but it's just too much to take on considering I can hardly see the screen lol
