AnTuTu Benchmark Vulkan Support - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

So I've been recently trying to benchmark my Axon 7 with AnTuTu (running latest official Oreo on my phone). It scores around 187000 with AnTuTu v9.0.3. My question is why it says on AnTuTu that my phone doesn't support Vulkan API. AnTuTu uses Vulkan to further test GPU power. I read somewhere that Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 are capable of supporting Vulkan API. I bet if AnTuTu tested my phone with Vulkan rather than skip that part, my phone would score higher in GPU power! Does it say that your Axon 7 doesn't support Vulkan API either?! What's your Axon 7's score on AnTuTu?

Our chipset support vulkan, just stock oreo doesn't.
Oreo B04 has daydream support. Maybe it also support vulkan.
Raystef66 made two packages with newer adreno drivers for both - stock and custom roms.

Oh, thank you for your reply. I never thought the latest stock Oreo on Axon 7 couldn't support Vulkan. I'd be checking raystef66's drivers later.

It doesnt mean STOCK ROM, maybe aosp or cm.

Most probably a custom ROM, Google denied support to the old chipset in LG G3 due to incompatibility with the performance enhancements introduced in 7.0. There is also a testing going on in CyanogenMod using 7.0 nightly tests.
Thats what I heard.

There will be no official Nougat updates for any Snapdragon 800/801 devices.
Nougat brings support for Vulkan https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulkan_(API)
Qualcomm did not and will not update the blobs for Vulkan support.
Google requires all devices with Android 7 to support Vulkan, for compatability of games.
So if a manufacturer would release an official Nougat for those devices, Google would not allow them to ship it with Google apps. Therefore there is no update coming 100%. Dont wait for it.
EDIT: Just for clarification, Vulkan is not required to run Android 7. But in the future games will run more performant using Vulkan, so Google wants to ensure, that every Vulkan game runs on Android 7.
This does not stop Custom ROM developers to support Android 7

Samsung S5 G900F and graphic driver

Hello,
As I know Qualcomm has not made corresponding graphics drivers for the new Vulkan API for Snapdragon 800 and 801. So S5 can't have Android 7.x Nougat. If it is true how it is possible that we have CM/Lineageos 14.x for S5? Did developers write their own graphics drivers? What about performance comparing to official 6.0.1 Marshmallow?
best regards,
da1k

We don't need to use the Vulkan API to run CM14.X/LineageOS, therefore there is no need to write new drivers Vulkan is only required when a manufacturer wants to ship android nougat to their device officially. Performance wise, official 6.0.1 marshmallow will always be the best when compared to AOSP because Samsung has some closed-source drivers that can only be used on official stock ROM.

I also wanted to have a LineageOS for J5 Prime, even if it was an unofficial rom, at least on Android 8.1. Too bad few people saw this post

Have you guys contributed to a developer to make this happen? Obviously not.
You need to find a developer who has experience with that chipset. Basically find a Dev who makes ROMs for exynos 7570 and ask if he will build for you guys and preferably give him a donation.
There is no difference between unnofficial and official builds except that official builds are just added to the website thats it so I dunno what you mean by "even if its unofficial"
Its not a popular chipset thats why nobody has built a rom for this device and probably nobody will coz you guys aren't contributing a bit so what you expect.
If all of ye put the time in this is a great video series on how to build for yourself but there is hours and hours of videos to watch. Maybe someone who really wants this will build for you but a Dev would probably have to own this device before building anything https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-to-build-custom-roms-kernel-t3814251/page139
