Turned this phone into a brick and I need to fix it! - Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Questions & Answers

Hi, so, I got this phone from a friend, and he told me that the phone was working prorperly, but after someone factory resetted it, he wasn't able to set it up. Constant force close pop-ups where showing up while setting it up, and you weren't able to accept terms and conditions (button grayed out). Also, one thing I noticed. The phone got into "Factory Mode". Idk what that is, but it wouldn't let me to enable wifi or bluetooth. That little Factory mode thingy got me really confused. Also, I wanted to boot into recovery mode, and I wasn't able to do so. After turning the phone off, and doing the key combo to boot into recovery, the phone rebooted itself (very showrtly after doing the startup vibration) and after that, it seemd to get into recovery, but it stayed at the android logo with an exclamation sign and after 3 seconds it rebooted itself to system.
After that I said, "well, last thing to try is flashing stock rom again". And I did so. Using the Frija software to download the latest version of android for this phone (and using the corect CSC for this phone (CTI)). I used odin 3.12.7 (wich I knew it works because of previously using it with other phones) to flash the stock rom again. I made sure that only Auto-reboot and F.reset time were checked, and started flashing. After it finished, it got to the samsung logo, but got stuck there. Nothing happened (I left the phone there for like 30 min). I decided to hard-reboot the phone and try to factory-reset it, but after shutting it down, it started to be really hard to make the phone turn on. I had to unplug the battery and wait like 10 mins to try again, and I still wasnt able to boot into recovery mode. It just got stuck at the "Galaxy Core 2" logo.
After that first boot, the phone never got passed the "Galaxy Core 2" logo. Just stuck there. After that, things just begun to get worse. It was also hard to get the phone to get into download mode, most of the time it just stayed at a blackscreen (im not shure if the phone ever turned on, but it never vibrated) and did nothing. I decided to try other versions of odin. Tried with 3.09 and 3.04. Nothing, and after every flash, it got harder and harder to make the phone boot.
At this point, I can hardly get the phone into download mode, and if I do so, sometimes I get the odin complete write operation failed error, wich the only way that I've found to solve it is to reboot again the phone into download mode.
I know that the battery is working, I have another core 2 (same exact model) and battery is ok. At this moment I don't know what else to do. Please, help me to get this brick of a phone back to working conditions, I dont want my friend to buy a new phone just to use it to recive calls and charge it.
Some extra notes:
As i've read, sometimes this can be caused by the replacement of the digitizer/screen. This phone seems to have one or both of them replaced, since I can see glue residues on the corners of the glass, where it touches with the plastic frame.
If there is anything hardware related thing to try, I can try to open the phone. I have some experience doing so.

EDIT: As I continued reading through this forum, I found out that some people had luck with Odin3_v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD, so I decided to try it out and see. Still, nothing changed. As today, I can only use this phone to charge the battery (it dosent actually show the percentage, only the battery icon with a loading icon inside) and boot into download mode
Although, I have to say that after flashing the stock rom with that version of odin made the phone not that hard to start in download mode. I think that it could be something that got corrupted on the eMMC module and it has to repartition it all again...? Does anyone know how to do so?
Regards

Well, tried almost everithing I know. Downloaded rom again with binary nature, tried with odin version 3.12.7, 3.13.1_3b patched and 3.13.3, but nothing. Extracted the PIT file from the CSC file, did repartition, NAND wipe, and nothing changed. I have to say that its certaily easier to get the phone in download mode, but thats almost it. One thing to note, when i select the NAND wipe, it dosent seems to do anything. I mean, in odin Log screen some things appear related to NAND wiping and such, but its really fast and there are only 2 or 3 lines dedicated to that. Is that OK?
Anyway, please, any recoomendation or thing to try would be great, since this phone is now trash, it dosent matters if it starts to get worse, or even unusable (more than it is rn).
Regards

[Q] [HELP] i9505 stuck in a continous boot loop!

Hello to everybody from xda!
I'm facing a problem with an Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 and since i've tried everything I knew, decided to post my problem here, looking for a solution.
Thank you in advance!
The background:
- international variant (i9505), unlocked, bought second hand in september 2014 and working fine for about two months; at the moment of the purchase it was running 4.4.2 and was rooted with TowelRoot; as I said the phone was running very well for two months, untill I (wrong!) decided to flash it with odin;
- downloaded from samfirmware.com the ROM
I9505XXUFNB8_I9505COAFNB1_I9505XXUFNB8_HOME.tar.md5 and flashed it;
AFTERWARDS I READ ABOUT CSC AND EVERYTHING AND I UNDERSTOOND THAT I HAVE A CSC NAMED SIM, APPARENTLY COMING FROM SI MOBIL Slovenia.
- rooted the phone with TowelRoot, everything was ok 'till one day when started to freeze and restart; considering that i had a large number of apps installed and was a hard work to try looking for the one wich determined the restarts I decided to flash again;
- after the second flash, using the same archive as before, the phone became insane;
a. freezing multiple times at the configuration screen which appears after flashing (where you config your language, Google account etc);
b. if successfully pass the config part without crash, it was inevittably crashing after;
c. sometimes i succeeded to use it for about 24 hours, installing everything when it freezed again;
The freezing is happening like that: first the screen refuses to respond, in about 3-4 seconds it appeared like in my attachament (black lines) for about 1 sec., then restarted itself.
After restart sometimes is entering into software again, sometimes is stuck at the Samsung I9505 logo or ar the simple Samsung Logo (with that blue flame animation). Stuck here, sometimes is restarting itself, sometimes gets just blocked here and nothing to do.
Also, sometimes is easy to enter in Recovery Mode, sometimes i keep pressing the buttons but not a chance.
Tried with TWRP, CWM or even stock recovery.
Once, when I had the chance to use it more that 2 hours without restart, I installed CyanogenMod. It worked well for about 3 days and then restarted again and the sympthoms are the same ar above.
I thought that it's because of the battery, but no. I have two batteries, both of them starting with AA (S/N and one starting with TH.
It's the same with any of them.
I flashed multiple types of ROMs, all officials from sammobiles:
I9505XXUFNB8_I9505COAFNB1_I9505XXUFNB8_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUGNG8_I9505OXXGNG2_I9505XXUGNG8_HOME.tar.md5
and others.
Other details:
- all the flashes were made with odin 3.0.9, with full wipe and cache wipe, and dalvik;
- all flashes were made with original USB cable;
- sometimes when blocked at the logo boot animation it gets very hot at the upper part of the screen and camera, and also battery;
- sometimes it accepts to restart if I get the battery out for 5 minutes and then I repower the device; or sometimes only if i put it to recharge.
I flashed the .pit file (for this model, i'm sure), because in odin i was told INVALID PIT INFORMATION or something similar.
What can I do? Please help!

Flash this custom rom it uses different firmware which is super stable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706844 (Imperium Rom) Custom roms are always far better than stock mate. Good luck! just use TWRP and you are good to go. dont forget to factory reset first before flashing.
xDroidZz thanks for your reply, I'll try.
Anyone else has some other suggestions?
*** LATER EDIT ***
Now has some other sympthoms: it enters in Download Mode, but it refuses to enter in Recovery Mode (actually, keeping VolumeUp+Home+Power pressed starts the device but the blue text in the upper left corner is not appearing because immediately after powering up, the I9505 logo appears and the device restarts).
It could be a hardware problem? I hope not, since I have no warranty.
*** LATER EDIT ***
Later I told you that I flashed the .pit file (for this model, i'm sure) for several times, because in odin.exe i was told INVALID PIT INFORMATION or something similar.
The exact error was:

But I saw that if I remove and reconnect the USB cablu (original), this error stops from appearing.
When I initially got my device off Swappa, it had come with SI Mobil firmware (I9505XXUGNG8, I9505OMDGNG1, I9505XXUGNG8, CSC SIM). After encountering an issue where the phone's carrier locking reactivated and having the SIM card slot fail at the same time, then fixing that issue by replacing the slot, downgrading to Jellybean and running RegionLock Away, I upgraded to an unbranded UK Black Edition firmware (I9505XXUGNJ8, I9505YXYGNK1, I9505XXUGNJ8, CSC BTU). The current version of the firmware has been updated since then, and in the case of my phone actually sets the CSC to AUT. But it's still unbranded.
I've never had to use the PIT file on this device, but from what I recall, running the PIT file too often can cause issues. What I would recommend here would be to use the original cable and install the aforementioned Black Edition firmware to see if that can correct your issue. From there, once you've determined the phone is working properly, then you can go and install a custom recovery and ROM.
P.S. Not all cables are created equal. I personally am lucky in that the dollar store USB cable I have on my PC works perfectly with Odin. For best results however, both you and I should be using the original cable.
Thank you very much, Strephon Alkhalikoi!
I started the download of the Black Edition firmware from the link you gave me, hope it will work..
I'll write as soon as the flashing process is finished.
*** LATER EDIT ***
Nop, it's not working.. even if odin says everything went ok, after the auto-reboot the phone remains at the i9505 logo screen and with the blue text in the upper left. So is not entering into Recovery Mode.
What should I do? Sell it for 99 EURO?
Situation update:
Last night I flashed with odin the UK Black Edition firmware which Strephon Alkhalikoi recommended me; after the "OK" message odin gave me the phone restarted, the i9505 logo appeared with the blue text in the upper left part and nothing more. It refused to go further into that part where the tiny android looks like working and a blue bar in loading below (see the atachament for figurind out what I mean).
As I tried more than 20 times to enter into Recovery Mode, I ceased and went to sleep, letting the phone with the battery out!
In the morning I gave another try and at the second attempt it entered into the screen I showed you before, loaded untill, maybe, 50% and then stopped (freezed) and restarted itself.
I then tried to enter into Recovery Mode and worked from the first time. I tried to install Imperium ROM which the other user recommended (also, even if I had the microSD installed, it said install microSD, I took the card in and out and worked), but I received some error regarding header.
I restarted the phone and booted succesfully from the first time. I configured the phone and started using it.
I made some config. and installed some software, it worked like a charm.
At 6 PM I installed several apps from Play! (so nothing like GravityBox, rooting things and so on), things like DropBox, RedBall 4, Timely etc. and in the meantime I was listening to some music also in the Music section of Play!, when, suddently, the phone freezed, a black thin line appeared in the middle and the phone restarted, freezing itself at the i9505 logo and refusing to go further.
I booted into Recovery (from the first time), I wiped the cache and after that the phone was successfully booted again.
Aldo I like that it works again, I am afraid that the problem did not solved and I cannot use it day by day since it may freeze over the night and I could miss some important events in the morning because of that..
What else do you recommend me to do?

dont know else what to do. but great it worked.
Try to flash stock if you still can.
good luck!
Today it happened again, this time it shutted down itself, right after I connected it to the PC via original USB cable.
Took the battery away, powered it up after, successfully booted.
In 3 minutes from booting it restarted again, and booted again successfully.
Battery: 84%, not the BD series.
I also had a microSD of 64GB inside it, made by Hama.
Wtf is happening ?

try to remove your sdcard and your sim card and use your phone and wait when it happens again. i know it isnt really related to that but maybe worth a try. and Factory reset after doing that.
For God's sake, I'll destroy it!
It rebooted again and this time remained at the i9505 logo.
Even after wipe cache and factory reset still refused to boot properly.

Thank you for your support, also thanks to the other user.
I did not managed to make it useable for more than 24 hours and since my phone is part of my life, keeping almost everything in there, including my morning alarm, I decided to sell it and buy another one, hopefully that I'll get a trustfull device.
I am thinking at a Nexus 5, or maybe another S4? Dunno, but i would nou go back to S4 .

S5 G900F - Infinite Bootloop, can't access bootloader, flashed with stock roms.. HELP

Hi,
**Long Story**
I'm new here - I refrained from posting as I know a repeat post can p*** people off but I can't find my problem or fix it.
My own Sony was stolen a week ago - My brother in law kindly gave me his old S5 as a back up phone.
He has never had any problems with it EVER. I did a factory reset (from the settings menu) to clear his data and straight away I was in a boot loop (Handset vibrates, Samsung logo displays, blue LED, vibrates, handset switches off.. over and over again) the only way to stop this is to remove the battery. I cannot enter recovery mode but I CAN enter download mode. According to the settings the handset was running the latest version of lollipop.
I took the phone home anyway, thinking I could fix it - leaving the battery out in my pocket.
When I got home, I put the battery in and the phone turned on, unfortunately I forgot to put the sim card in - so I removed the battery, put in the sim card and... Boot Loop!
At this point I was really frustrated so I left the battery out and went to sleep. I woke up in the morning, put the battery in and it worked fine, all day, then all of a sudden the phone switched itself off and now I'm back in a boot loop and this time it isn't wanting to work again.
I have:
- Flashed with stock roms using Odin (5.0 & 4.4.2) - Yes, I used the correct firmware for my handset.
- Flashed with Kies to the latest firmware
- In desperation, tried the "Bash your power button against a hard, flat surface" trick
- Shouted at the handset
None of these have worked and every post I have found says to put the phone in recovery mode, I CANT. When I try, the blue "Recovery Booting" text is displayed, but just restarts anyway...
Weirdly and at random times, twice, the phone has powered on while plugged into my laptop, but the screen is blank, I get message sounds and the soft keys below the screen light up, but the screen is blank.
Any body have any idea?!?!! I'm vaguely techy, however not with this kind of thing. Any help would be much appreciated. What confuses me is there was no problem before I did the factory reset.

I did my best to try & get the firmware for my particular service provider but sammob and a few of the other sites use those awful restricted speed file sharing sites.

I will try now but may take a while to get back to you while I wait to download.
Try flashing the PIT file along with the stock ROM in ODIN
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2721101&d=1399024091
Extract to .pit - add to PIT section in ODIN, add ROM to AP or PDA section, flash them both at the same time

Try flashing just the ROM again, and then try booting into recovery, and factory reset
Or try flashing TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN, and then boot into recovery and factory reset
Use this guide (Don't worry about the SuperSU part if you don't need root, and ignore the reactivation part as you can't boot the phone yet - start at No.3)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64961009&postcount=2
Are you flashing the latest Lollipop ROM too?

This is so confusing, is the Stock firmware that you've linked to in Mega the same as the one I have downloaded?
Will retry with TWRP again. BRB

BOJ1 yea, same one
Try different versions of ODIN, 3.09 up to 3.10.7 (Maybe even 3.07)

Pull the battery after flash, do not allow the phone to reboot first etc?
Because that error is usually associated with you allowing the phone to reboot Automatically after flashing TWRP

Definitely didt let it reboot & pulled the battery. Tried it twice to make sure.
I am downloading the Stock firmware that you have linked and will try that, is there any reason why it started to reboot constantly after I factory reset? It can't be hardware because there was never a HW problem before I reset it. I don't suppose you want to pop down from Durham and fix it?! lol

To London? wanna pay the plane fare? lol
If you got that firmware from Sammobile, the one I linked you to is the same one, that's where I got it from, you could try some different droid versions, try a KitKat ROM too
Not sure why it would boot loop after you factory reset it, if reactivation lock was left on, you should still have managed to get to the welcome screen, but then be locked out of the phone until you entered his samsung account login
Sounds like something bugged out during the reset, and didn't reset properly, or corrupted one of the partitions, which the PIT file should have fixed
Stock recovery is cr4p though, I've ended up with a bootloop just clearing caches from it before, and had to flash TWRP to clear them properly, then flash stock on top again just to get it to boot

OK - Sorry for the delay but unfortunately I had to do stuff - I would have happily sat and tried to fix it all day.
So, I did spend some time on it earlier and a few things happened.
I reinstalled different firmwares, and also tried TWRP 2.8.7.0 a few times with different versions of Odin but nothing would work.
I reinstalled the firmware BOJ1, nothing
Tried PIT again, nothing
Then, after trying PIT I got the Firmware error and connected to Kies... It worked, but now I just have a blank screen (another seemingly common issue with these paperweights) - Unsure what to do now, the phone is on, i can call it, find it with device manager but the screen is just blank. FML.

OK, so they phone is working, there's just no display...
OK, try resetting the phone remotely from here first
https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
If it's not connected to the network - try this
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ory-reset-galaxy-s5-computer.html#post4365754
If that still fails, try flashing a stock KitKat ROM from Sammobile, see if downgrading the OS is a big enough change for it to overwrite whatever is causing the problem
Wondering if TWRP has flashed, but the no screen thing is stopping you from knowing one way or another - if we could get into TWRP, we'd have a lot more options, including custom ROMs

Thanks,
I'll wait for that to download and try.
So - I used accessibility mode to get into settings and do a factory reset... It was difficult, I even thought that the Dark Screen setting might have mysteriously have been turned on but nope.
Rebooted and got the Bootloader screen with the Samsung logo and Recovery Booting text, after a few minutes the screen went blank and the phone vibrated and then nothing!!! :crying::crying::crying:
I have just put it into download mode (I only know this because the many hours I've spent doing this I noticed that the battery and device goes cool when its in download mode) and will try the KitKat flash once its downloaded - Thank you for that btw.
Its so strange - it cant be an issue with the actual screen because it *sometimes* displays the logo.. What can it be?? Its also odd that from when I originally reset it, it could'nt boot into recovery. I'm worried that everything I have done has screwed it up more? Can the Recovery/Bootloader be "Broken"? Its so confusing, I hate tech that doesn't behave.

Does sound like a possible hardware problem, but unlikely or a huge coincidence that it all started after resetting, so I'd be more inclined to think otherwise
Just remembered about this unbrick image / tutorial

You don't need busybox, that's for creating your own debrick image, the tutorial stops here:
Flash this Debrick file to your 16GB Micro SD card with Win32DiskImager
*Insert your Micro SD card into your computer (backup any information you may have on it we are going to ERASE, FORMAT it to ex FAT
*Open win32DiskImager
*Navigate to the location where you downloaded the correct Debrick file
*Select your Debrick file by double clicking on it
*In the upper right corner of Win32DiskImager you should make sure that the drive letter assigned to your sd card is selected.
***Which ever drive that is listed will be erased, formatted
*Click write in the bottom right hand side
put the Debrick SD card in the Phone, Pull and Replace the Battery
Plug phone in usb and boot into download mode
yout phone should boot into download mode then flash stock firmware via odin
Download link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByA...ew?usp=sharing
You're saying you can't see anything on screen in download mode, just guessing it's there because it cools down - but that could also mean it's not in any mode
With this method, you might get a display to use, then you can flash normally with ODIN with download mode visible on screen

Phone still gets stuck in boot loop after flashing stock firmware

I have a TMobile/MetroPCS GS4 model SGH-M919N that got stuck in a boot loop last week. I was finally able to find working firmware last night and used Odin to flash. Once it got to PASS my phone automatically rebooted with the blue recovery boot text in the top left, but then it just went back into a boot loop. I tried all other firmwares and none of them got to 100% so now I don't know what else I can do.
I have the same issue on a GT-i9505. I was using my phone this evening when it randomly rebooted and just keep rebooting until I removed my battery. After that, it was dead . Flashing stock firmwares like shooting a minigun and nothing works. Smells like a hard brick?

Have you tried replacing the battery? I figured I would try that but I havent gotten around to it yet
Not yet, i have no spare battery. Looks like when i plug the charger my phone just vibrates, like it's rebooting, and it's not showing anything. I found a similar issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532447
Looks like one guy did solve his problem.
*need to mention that by dead I mean it shows the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505" logo and also shows "RECOVERY BOOTING", even though I didn't enter in recovery mode. Looks like now it doesn't shows anymore "RECOVERY BOOTING", but still, it doesn't boot. I was able to flash firmwares via odin and kies, but still no luck.
LE: It start booting by.. magic, i got to samsung boot logo, but that's all, crashed again.
After flash with Odin, immediately boot into recovery, perform a factory wipe, and reboot.
The problem is it doesn't boot into recovery.
LE: I managed to flash twrp via odin and boot into recovery, but i have an error:
"Unable to mount /data"
Any ideas?
LE2: Everything is useless, i managed to flash the rom, manage to boot into the rom, but then it will still reboot (which it did). Next step will be maybe to disassemble and clean all contacts.

Yes, but if I leave my phone in recovery (stock or custom), it just either freezes, either reboots, even though i don't do anything, just let it idle.
I can't manage to boot into the ROM 'cause eventually it will reboot. I couldn't finish the setup wizard.
OK so I don't know if this helps, but I managed to at least get past the "blue recovery boot" part. When the phone vibrated I let go of the power while still holding home + vol up, and I managed to get to the android guy with a blue progress bar below him. My phone shut off as the progress bar got 80-90% but now I know it's not impossible to start recovery.
Well, nothing works. After flashing pit file, an 4.4.2 odin prerooted image from here, cf auto root and then twrp, it will still randomly reboot. I manage to get past the boot logo into setup wizard, but phone just freezes after a couple of minutes, can't finish the setup wizard. Also, if i idle in twrp it will reboot sooner or later, tested already.I left my phone idling in twrp just to recharge my battery.
At least i have no more "unable to mount /data" errors.
I finally got it to work, all I had to do is keep flashing twrp and stock firmware back and forth. But it is just one problem after another with this thing, the problem now is every 5 minutes it will freeze and restart, also it tells me there is no sim even though it worked the first time i put it back in.

It means he flahsed and reflashed many times until he got lucky and it worked. That's what happened to me also. But i have the same issue, phone reboots or freezez after a couple of minutes, even though everything else is installed properly.
Dude, we have the same issue. Btw, is this happening to you too? Like, now and then when the phone freezes, that the screen is turning to a bright yellowish green?
I know a friend who repairs phone hardwares for a living, i gave it to him, i'll let you know how this went.

I got several times into Recovery Mode now, flashed several ROMs. I had no issues with freezing, especially not in TWRP Recovery Mode. But sometimes if i am trying to go into Recovery Mode or i just want to start ROMs, the screen turns into yellow behind the Samsung logo. If i dont take out the battery this wents into a complete white, but nothing happens.

S7 Edge Hardbricked by it's own?

Hi people, something quite terrible happened to my phone when I woke up today. Before I went to sleep the phone worked and was charged by about 40% but some apps were force closing like crazy so I turned off the device before I went to sleep, cuz why not, eh? Then I woke up and turned on the phone and it showed the screen to choose if I want to go into downloading mode, I pressed cancel and the phone shutdown and now it wont turn on.
I tried soft resets, tried to charge it for 10 minutes, but the thing is the phone is like its hard bricked for no apparent reason... even the charge indicator when phone is off doesn't show anymore, no lights, no nothing. Please help me. If anyone has an idea what to do it would be greatly appreciated. It worked this morning, no one else touched the phone. :crying:
if it doesnt boot then its a battery problem, even in hard brick, it has some kind of flights flashing.

If it's the battery what can I do here at home? At least try? I don't think it's a hardbrick cause I didn't do anything iregular to the phone, it was working before I shut it down and went to sleep. Idk how I hardbricked it by turning it off. :/

well the storage drive could fail, that could be another possibility which if I think about it now that seems to be the case. best bet send it to samsung.
if you plug your phone into your computer and it does not read or register, you really dont have any other choices. This goes for all phones, the forum can help you with soft brick, not something like this, this looks like a hardware failure.

The phone rebooted constantly and force close apps from the day I bought it. I thought it was software issue... I went to my carrier to complain but they said nothing is wrong with the phone (way back few months ago). So my last question is this, can a phone force close apps and restart constantly with a software issue? or does it happen only to devices with hardware issues?

Ok so good news! Today I plugged it in the charger again and it booted! As I see it when I turn it off it doesnt really shut down properly and it stays in some kind of a phase and doesnt let me reset or do anything really... but It drained the battery that it had left and it bugged out. I know this cause I shutted it down again via the android option and its "bricked" again. Now I will wait for it to lose charge again so I can boot it.
Can you please tell me how to properly flash via odin to the latest nougat firmware? The phone was from Vodafone in Germany, few months ago I flashed a Netherlands firmware, then some other one few weeks down the road. Can you please tell me how to flash it back to full stock and what firmware should I download? The model is SM-G935F and the S/N is RF8H61YE4CP. I prevously tried THIS firmware from sammobile. Is this the correct one for my phone? I tried using samsung smart switch but it says "Secure Check Fail : Bootloader" when it tries to emergency restore it in the download mode, and the smart switch software says just error. Also whenever I flashed with Odin, BL never wanted to flash cause of just one file in every BL md5 file and that is the param.bin one, everything else flashes like it should. Please write me a guide on how to flash it properly and "upgrade" everything to the latest version correctly for my phone. (many settings in Odin that I never touched)

Black screen of death after flashing firmware

I have the S7 Edge originally the ATT version but I rooted and flashed the unlocked version firmware. I was trying to unroot the device and restore everything to the factory settings since I am using the trade in program through Samsung and have to send it back in stock. I tried to flash it using Zodin, the Mac version of Odin, but was unable to get it to work because I was not able to get the proper pit file, it always returned with the error that there is a corrupt file. Since I do not have Windows, I could not Flash the firmware using Odin. Out of desperation, I looked online and a website (the article was on Android forums with the title restore stock with flashfire no PC) said that I could use the Android app Flashfire to flash a firmware and return to the factory unrooted settings. I downloaded and inputted the full firmware file for the original AT&T firmware version and checked the boxes to wipe boot, system, internal data, and trusted Zone and also maintain everroot. It seemed to work and was processing with the fast scrolling command text on the black screen but after a few minutes it said there was an error at the very bottom of the screen. Eventually, it restarted but nothing has come up and the screen is black without any light from the LED indicator. I tried to restart it with the power button several times, holding down the power button and the volume down, holding down the home button and the power button, and holding down the power button, volume down, and home button. I left the phone unplugged overnight and plugged it in this morning to see if it would turn on but nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am hoping that I did not brick the phone.
Since Im not sure now if you also tryed to go in download mode again but ussualy you are always able to do that.
If not try to remove battery and put it back in after 10 minuts. And connect it to your laptop and let it charge for a few minuts. Next Hold buttons for dowload mode. Hold em for 5 secconds. Even if still have a blackscreen open samsung kies or switch. One of them has the emergency recovery option. It will detect it then and will say something like you need to repair the software want to continue etc. Lwt it do its thing and make sure you are on the internet. You drink some coffee and give it 30 minuts atleast.
Still not work? Try to put in a spare battery or charge it with another phone. If that not even works. I cant help you.
First of all, I do not have a battery that I can remove. I tried to enter download mode and recovery mode but nothing worked. It will not boot up into any mode.
Just hold the button combination for download mode for 10sec and connect it to a PC with installed smart switch on it. Smart switch should detect your phone, even if the display of the phone stays black.
I tried what you recommended but nothing works still.
I seem to have encountered the same problem, albeit not through exactly the same method. Essentially I managed a full stock firmware flash through ODIN, all the right messages came up and I got a pass from Odin. The phone rebooted and brought up the blue "updating" screen, which very quickly changed to a "removing" screen, at which point the phone froze. When I tried to reboot, the screen went black and now.... nothing. No recovery, no download, no light to indicate that its charging... nothing. My computer doesn't register there is even a device attached.
I've done heaps of flashing and never seen anything like this!
Would greatly appreciate any advice or assistance!
same issue here accept i was just using odin like usual. anyone figure this out yet? the phone was not rooted or anything. i had flashed the g935u firmware and then decided to put it back to stock g935t firmware. then it started doing this.
reflash but this time it check nand erase all
NEVVER EVER CHECK NAND ERASE ALL, dont advise others what you don't know yourself. This is for manufacturer and is not intended for repairing, if you nand erase your phone its just a paper weight then, beyond recoverable. But this issue is caused by wrong partitioning i suppose, but still it must go in download mode, try plugging it in when smartswitch is open in pc while holding home+vol down+power , if it wont detect then i suppose its nand failure due to any reason. And motherboard replacement is required.

If it really did nand erased all, your phone wouldn't even boot, your phone working is a proof it isn't nand erased. What people don't understand is that nand isn't the internal memory, its the non volatile memory holding vital info about functioning of phone just like a bios of computer, so if it is erased you are beyond recoverable damage. Here , i must say i dont know if odin can really nand erase all, because if your phone is working, nand is definitely not erased. And as far as what fixed your issues, there must have been some other reason. But for everyone, leave that option empty just to be safe.

IHAVE FLASHED AND EVERYTIME used nanderase ...my phone feels brand new ..it jst repartitions the size of nand... also adding pit doesnt effect ...your problem is something other ... plug your phone to a good charger whole night.make sure charger is working...then try volume down and home and power into download mode..gudluck

Ofcourse it doesn't effect S7 edge, because it DOESNOT wipes the nand.. so its not working simply..
On older phones it will wipe nand totally and thats a dead brick..
First search what nand is.. its the non volatile memory.. or simply nand chip .. if you delete it.. your phone won't be a phone anymore.. its the non volatile memory that is equal to a bios of a computer.. delete non volatile memory and your phone is completely dead..
Thanks to the latest phones that don't erase non volatile memory and instead selecting nand erase with s7 edge simply deletes userdata before flashing.. which is equal to a normal hard reset ..
