Other Roms - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I'm just wondering if there are any other roms other than Lineage OS with the latest version of Android? I know Lineage OS is good and all but having variety would also be great. Is GSI supported on LG V20 H918 or something?

Check out superior os and crdroid, both amazing roms with a great dev maintaining them, i've been running his roms for about 1 month and it is an amazing experience, stable af and performs vary well, and we have fixed the mic sensitivity issue, and are currently experimenting with V30 blobs. Both are based on android 11. His build of crdroid isn't posted on xda so join the telegram group to see that.

Which is better / less bug / more stable nougat rom?

There are currently 5 roms which are running 7.1

2. resurrection remix
3. Cypher Os

Try them out.
Without a doubt CM14.1 The majority of the other custom Roms appears to be based on this instead of AOSP in any case, so whatever CM does, the others follow suit. Not as many options as some of the others roms, and the roms themselves always seem to be quite large considering they don't really feature many additional extras, but they generally work, and that for me is somewhat important.

Do CM14 affect the camera resolution? I mean, when I installed a cm rom on my old Galaxy S3, camera and sound were worse than when I had the rom stock, in the moto x style/pure is the same?

Stable Rom: CM 13, CM 14.1 vs LineageOS

I currently have stock ROM with TWRP recovery. I would like some more features and used CM 12.1 on other phone. Is CM 13 stable on this phone? I don't understand what it means by "unofficial"? Is CM 14.1 or LineageOS more stable? I am looking for as few bugs as possible.
Cm13 is discontinued! And there is no more cm, it's lineage hereafter! So try flashing RR or lineage!

CM 13.1 is unfortunately discontinued.
Lineage OS is basically CM 14.1 with the name change plus additional new commits added from the original CM team.
'UNOFFICIAL' means it's not compilee by the original team but voluntarily by a separate individual/team. These MAY have bugs but purely depends on the dev team working on it. Any bugs can only be reported to the dev (if he's willing to provide support) and not to the original team.
For stability, in my order - first being most stable (as per my usage)
1. Resurrection Remix Nougat (minor cosmetic bugs that's it and literally the most customisable ROM right now + best battery life)
2. Lineage OMS - by Silesh.Nair (none encountered so far and has all implemented LOS features + minor useful additions+ full Substratum OMS support+great battery life)
3. AOSCP/AOSP- Extended - Very stable, Not a LOT of features (yet) and has really good developers actively improving it.
The rest are quite buggy in my opinion (only comparitively - but overall they are really nice)

aicp 13 or lineage os 14.1 for 6p

I'm debating on switching from lineage is to another rom to check out the Android 8.0 features in a custom rom. Lineage os for the 6p doesn't have an 8.0 or 15 build yet.
So I was wondering what do you all prefer? The lineage 14.1 build or the aicp Oreo build? Which is better or worse in your opinions.
Make a backup of your current setup and try it for yourself. "Best ROM" threads are discouraged on XDA. Also, questions belong in the Q&A section, not development...
Why you all are keep posting such things in development section lol?

I've tried out the unofficial lineage 15, aicp13 and superXE 8.1.
I went back to 14.1 because it's so damn smooth and stable.
Once an official 15 is released it'll be a no brainer

Since CrDroid seems to be the best which is better [8.1 Oreo] or [7.1.2 Nougat] ?

From all the Roms the best one or the most popular one is Crdroid when we are talking about continued support to this day.
I am not talking about discontinued ROMS or ROMS with older versions of Android .
If you want a good performance and an uptodate device CrDroid is the clear winner maybe next is Fulmics but it has older android version so let's not talk about it .
So what do you think, which is better ?
Currently crdroid is best for oreo because of its stability and it is also packed with features. But i think resurrection remix is best for nougat.
The 8.1 rom is still in alpha so bare that in mind. The only issue i had with the 7.1.2 is the random app minimising
For now, there isn't so much 8.1 rom to be compared other than crDroid.
For 7.12, I prefer AICP and RR to crDroid (w/ solid kernel) because they run smoother than crDroid.

I went back to 7.1.2 because there is not an official version of opengapps for 8.1.
I don't have another source other than this site to find 8.1 ROMs. You can see here https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development

regarding lineage os

Is lineage os 16 coming to s8 ?
Go to watch github
Into the dev github you can see a project lineage os 16 but i think they want to build an lineage os 15.1 for daily use after that they work on lineage 16
I THink
LineageOS 15.1 is still being developed, they want to make sure it's stable enough before moving to 16
But in short, yes, there will be LineageOS 16 as soon as everything is working fine

So this means the S8 is going to be officially supported or are you talking about an unofficial LineageOS 16?
Also another question, do you think it's worth it to buy the S8+ if I plan to keep it for 4 years? One of the things that keep me from buying the phone its the dev community which doesn't seem to be very active for this device, I am worried that there won't be any custom roms with the upcoming Android Q and I end up stuck on Pie for those 4 years. If you know the reason, could you tell my why the support for AOSP roms in the S8 is not very active like in previous phones? I read it was because of Treble but the previous galaxy phones don't have treble and they still get LineageOS and other AOSP roms.
