About a year ago, I resurrected my nexus 10 with a new battery. After a few oddities, I had to flash the latest available manta (I used Wug's NRT...). I did a factory reset once or twice in the intervening time (after an app backup etc.) Now I'm in trouble....
I'm not sure quite what went wrong but I had just finished charging the device and I knew it was turned on (the notification light was blinking) but I could not get the screen to come to life so I long-pressed it into a reboot... and it started bootlooping on the swirling dots. I re-flashed the OS multiple times... I tried a factory reset multiple times, each time I factory reset the thing would sit on "formatting data" ... at least once I let it sit that way overnight... no dice.
I messed with the NRT several times, tried to do a factory reset or backup after booting into twrp from the NRT (it's all stock allegedly on the device). Not sure what I did but all of a sudden the bootlooping on the swirling dots stopped... I got the "android" logo and then it says: "starting apps"... the circling indiccator goes for about 15-20 seconds then wham... reboots... and that's where I'm stuck...
Factory reset still hangs... and it bootloops just further down the process... starting apps.
What can I do? Does anyone out there have an idea?

Have a standard Nexus 7(2012), 18m old. OTA upped to Android 4.4.4. a month+ ago. Never rooted. From then on it has lasted a week or less before freezes/reboots while using apps or even nothing at all.
Have undertaken boots to fastboot mode (android on its back, door open but no red triangle) and then entered recovery mode to wipe system cache and then do a factory reset. This sometimes progresses thru startup restoring apps ok. Sometimes it crashes part way thru. Often get background Chrome and Maps crashes of late as it redownloads my old apps.
Google HW support line recommended this course of action until last time when desperate Indian woman out of her depth tried to say it was a hardware fault and palmed me off on Ausus(uk) saying they did a 2yr warranty... which I think they don't. Still to investigate that one.
The reboots kicked off again today. So did the usual: did a cache clear then factory reset and it restarted. Now it crashed while the Android coloured balls still rotating! And forcing into fast mode to do a 2nd factory reset failed as when I select Recovery Mode it now says "Booting failed" in small letters at the top and dumps u back in Recovery mode, though less the Android logo on its back. Cannot restart bootloader either, same error. Rebooting just freezes with "Google" displayed.
Have I "bricked it" somehow. How to I get past this?
As a novice, I have got Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.5and tried to reflash to stock 4.4.4 rom on it. But bootloader is locked, as it is delivered, and it will not unlock it. (read from The Definitive Guide on How to Restore Your Nexus 7 Tablet (Even if You've Bricked It from nexus7 wonderhowto site)
Anyone got any info on what to do here? Better reflash tool/instructions? Is it hardware problem? Do Asus uk do a 2yr warranty that I need after 18months? Is this tablet permanently a dead parrot?
Any help, I am desperate here. Thanks
I am have been facing some kind of weird issue from past few days. It made me reset my phone for bringing it's life back.(HELL)
I am on stock CM12 with stock kernel.(Didn't root)
Issue:
♦After regular usage(hardly 10-20 apps other than stock), kept it aside. When I tried to access mobile later, I unlocked the mobile, the capacitive lights at the bottom (Key guard) lighten up but screen was not awake.I waited for some time, but the problem persisted.
♦I pressed the power button for few minutes and mobile restarted. The screen worked until Cyanogen boot logo, the OS booted up, screen was kind of on for 5 seconds and the problem started again. I made many restarts but couldn't get rid of it.
♦Later I booted into recovery, wiped cache hoping it could rectify the problem but it made things worsen. After rebooting from recovery, the OS was now stuck on Cyanogen boot logo.
♦It forced me to wipe data/factory reset mobile from recovery which made the mobile work but with it's sole lost(Data).
It's quite frustrating issue as I faced it for the second time today in few days.
Please help if anyone knows whats the problem.
Hey all,
Just some details before the background.
I was running a stock with a unlocked bootloader for a while now. I basically only use my nexus now to watch netflixs and HBOgo. Got the tablet over four years ago.
This morning after it's nightly charge I went to unlock it and it froze up. I rebooted it, noticed the date was off (Jan 1st) and froze after I unlocked it. Reboot again, it made it to the screen where it was optimizing my apps but the screen starting flickering and having artifacts, and powered off. Now it will power itself off 5 or so seconds into the boot animation.
I've tried going into recovery via the bootloader but when I select it and hit the power button it just turns it self off. I then used the nexus toolbox to reflash a stock rom (along with a factory reset), and TWRP. I tried booting up again and same thing. I then went into TWRP and start troubleshooting, but the screen is starting to flicker and have artifacts, then powers off.
Is the hardware dead on this?
Sorry for the jumbled mess of details, i've been bouncing around trying to troubleshoot/fix this.
PIT files
PIT files
My nexus 10 has the boot loop problem and I think I have been left with the only option of Re-Partition but I need the PIT file. Can anybody help or provide this file?
I have tried everything else (fastboot, adb, temporary custom recoveries, Nexus Root Toolkit) with no success.
Is the battery original? If so, it's possible the battery could be reaching its end.

ok so first off this phone was brand new when i got it 6 months ago. no matter what rom i flash or kernel combo, my phone always ends up 'freezing' up on me. after sitting there staring at the unresponsive phone i will either yank the battery or keycombo reboot. upon trying to boot again it doesnt get past the red and blue writing about enforcing whatever just sits there. so i boot to twrp but it hangs at splash screen if i wait a long time it will eventually go but im talking like 30 mins. weird right? when i do get back in i can restore a backup or wipe, clearing cache and dalvik does nothing it just sits at boot logo. and flashing kernels does nothing. what could be doing this?
Starting from the beginning: My phone crashed restarted several times and then black screen with blue led. Then I had t wait for the battery to die because none of the home power vol, power vol keys worked. Eventually got it into recovery mode selected wipe cache restarted same problem.
Now the phone even boot into recovery. It just stays on the blue screen saying "Installing system update" . The little recycling loading icon spins a couple times then its just stuck. Resorted to losing everything and installed smart switch and did emergency restore. Flashed a few times still no joy. Took it to shops they charged it turned it on and its reset to factory. Got it running again, only for it to go into a boot loop. Curious if it was actually fixed, i booted into recovery mode same issue and now back to square one. (I did let the battery die and started it up, came to the home screen and it started rebooting again to black screen and blue LED again.)
I do intend on sending it back but I am wondering could be that the recovery partition is corrupted?
