Quick one, when I use cpu-z my phone is stated as a G4 (athene) but is the athene the g4 plus? I am confused as I want to have a higher android version than 7 but I dont want to end up flashing the wrong rom and messing it up. Can g4 plus roms be flashed to g4 as long as it says Athene?
Thanks

IF your phone has a fingerprint sensor, its a G4 Plus, otherwise its a G4. and yes, you can flash G4 Plus ROMs on your G4.

Hello,
I booted into the fast boot/bootloader mode, and there instead of "athene", it displays "athene_f".
Variant - XT 1643
So, is it safe to flash the stock ROM(and other custom ROM's) which are available for XT1643(athene), on this device.
Cause I'm a bit confused, as to if "athene" and "athene _f" is the same thing, or has a bit different hardware.
~Thanks you.
The g4 regular is athene, the g4 plus is athene_f
Stock rom had to be for xt1643, but custom can be xt16xx

I know this was a few days ago, maybe you've already figured it out?
Assuming you've already unlocked your bootloader and installed TWRP (custom recovery), than you can definitely flash Resurrection Remix. Our device codename is "athene" (that includes all variants of the G4 and G4 Plus).
Check out the development section in the G4 Plus forums. There you will find RR for our device and the latest build is 04/26. I've recently updated the OP of the thread with updated links to GApps and such. Also, don't worry about needing to be on stock Nougat as your device doesn't have a fingerprint sensor anyway. Good luck and lemme know if you have any more questions!
nice i have another question
the rom from resurection remix is stable? wich bugs have the last version?

None, it's very stable! They're official builds if that tells you anything. All features work great, even the stock Motorola features like "chop chop" etc. Motorola Camera can be a little tricky as there is a few options, meaning it can be a little confusing for some I think to get installed and working correctly. If you want help with that, lemme know.
Just make sure you take a backup in TWRP before you do anything and you should be fine.
what about
what about battery life vs the stock rom? and i know if i change resoluction from 1080 to 720 i can get more battery life? and the other thing i dont know is wich gapps i should download cuz when i enter in the link there is a diferent version of gapps aroma , aroma 64 etc etc

Your mileage will vary as far as battery usage goes. I don't know about changing your devices resolution from 1080 to 720 (not sure that's possible, but you can change the overall dpi. There are a couple options for doing this within the rom). As far as GApps to choose, in the OP (original post) of the Resurrection Remix thread there are recommended GApps to use. Open GApps is fine too, but just make sure to choose at most the "Mini version" for ARM. Whether you choose an Aroma version is up to you.
Just a word of caution
I have an xt1625 as well and I've tried ressirection remix rom and it runs great....for about 8 hours. Then my cellular data connection dies. I can't figure it out. It happens every time. My cellular data only comes back if I wipe and reinstall. It woks fine on other roms like Invicta os. I have no clue what's up with resurrection.
Yeah, I need a Nougat ROM for my Moto E3.
All the ROMs I see are for the E3 Power, wondering if anyone can find one for the regular E3.
The phone is unlocked, it's the XT1700. I would prefer Lineage OS/CyanogenMod but I don't care what it is, as long as it's Nougat.

Flash the E3 power Lineage os rom.
E3 power roms work fine on my XT1700, all that happens after flashing a rom is your device will say E3 power in device settings.
Go try some, nougat works fine on my E3.
Hello folks,
Is there anyone who tried to install a rom with G7 or V40 on V35? Can you share whether it works at all or does the phone bootloop?
Latest g7/v40 roms needs the phone to be updated to android 10 first.. Also very likely the touchscreen wont work.. I didnt try this myself ::

I tried to force some V40 android roms to flash on my V35 a little while ago. All of the partitions are the wrong size. Screwed a lot of stuff up (nothing LGUP couldn't fix though). Maybe flashing to Korean android 10 stock rom, then reflashing with a V40 rom would work. Too risky for me, but if anyone already on the Korean version wants to give it shot, please let me know how it goes!
The phone with G7 rom turns on, the sound works, but the screen does not respond and is black. With the V40, the screen is lit, but the touch does not work, and so does the sound. The phone, however, turns on and if necessary you can return to the V35 rom. While I was flashing roms with g7 and v40, I had Korean android 10 (V30B).
