Any way to disable "google assistant" icon from search bar? - Google Pixel 4 Questions & Answers

Hello, I use the Pixel 4a with Android 11.
I have disabled the corner lines and assistant from main page, the only thing that bothers me is the small assistant icon on the search bar (right side).
Can this be hidden some way?
Note:
With disabled assistant the icon is still there and if I click it accidently, the assistant starts and crashes (sure it does while its deactivated) like when I uninstall it over "adb shell" and run "pm uninstall" command.
Hope someone have found a way.
Thank you

"tap to Clear notifications" feature is disable

I just installed an application to monitor my phones and its works flawless, but leave the application icon on the notification bar and disable (don’t matter what application icon) the "tap to Clear notifications". The intent is to run the app stealth! There is any way to go around this or an app that can either turn-on the “tap to Clear notifications” or allow me to manage what icons will be displayed
Thanks for any help

"Couldn't add widget"

In the recent menu/ app switcher, I get this "couldn't add widget" display at the top. Phone works nicely, but this widget error display is annoying for me. I have the moto rooted with twrp. Anyone having the same issue? I tried rebooting, clearing cache, clearing data from google search app with no solution.
Thanks in advance
Do you have Xposed installed with any modules set to "Hide search bar in recents"?
I remember I had that on my M8 when I hid the search bar in the recents..... It was eventually fixed in a ROM update, but I had to live with it for a while, or show the search bar.

No xposed, just stock rooted. Should have mentioned that, lol... any other ideas? thanks
SUCCESS!
So i booted into safe mode (while phone is on, hold power and long press "power off" and tap boot into safe mode), then launch the recent apps menu and the widget (google search) is there, then reboot phone like normal.
Hope this helps if anyone has the same thing.

Hide navigation bar for no root and hide navigation bar when typing

When I get a pixel 2 ,the first thing I want to do is hiding the navigation bar. After a long search,I finally find some great methods for no root and root.
No root:
1. get app Navigation Bar Hider from play store.
2. go to Setting-> System-> About phone, click Build Number for 5 times to enable Developer Mode.
3. go to Setting-> System->Developer options,enable USB debugging.
4. use usb to connect to your PC,and run
Code:
adb devices
to make sure your device is connected.
5. run
Code:
adb shell pm grant in.tsdo.elw android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
6. open app Navigation Bar Hider, choose apps you want to hide navigation bar.
!Notice: don't select all system apps,it will cause some problems, just choose what you want to hide.
or
without app installed, following this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/themes/how-to-enable-true-immersive-modes-t3554299
from now on,it seems pretty nice for hiding navigation bar. But,while I am typing, the navigation bar appear again!
The pixel2 already has a long chin, and one more navigation bar is too long for typing.
How to hide navigation bar for keyboard?
As we know,if a phone with physical keyboard, there is no navigation bar. So,there must be a key to disable navigation bar.I finally found the key,it's qemu.hw.mainkeys.
I don't know too much about adb shell. So I choose to change it by magisk module.Following shows steps:
1. you have to root your phone.
How to root pixel2?
Follow this videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFD9sa-WdUM
(You should download the file from googling it to get latest version.)
2. after you installed magisk following video.Just open magisk and choose menu->download,search "hide navigation bar",install it.
3. install pie control or other navigation app you like, unless you don't need navigation bar
no one reply??
You shouldn't edit the "qemu.hw.mainkeys"
You shouldn't edit the "qemu.hw.mainkeys", or you'll get an endless loop on reboot.
This is because Google Assistant will use the home key as it's trigger.
And the Google Assistant is a part of Google Service now.
Is there a way to actually do this without root? Including it not reappearing when you swipe from the bottom?
I use the Edge Gestures app, but the bottom triggers are useless since it brings up the navbar.
there is an app called hide nav bar thats just works + oneplus gestures = good experince

Oneplus gestures

https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...es-navigation-oneplus-5-5t-android-10-update/
This is present on the 8 Pro too, but back also trigger home in my case ?
Does anyone know why and how to fix?
Same for me love the old one plus gesture of swiping up from the corners to go back, and this edit using the app in the article brings that back, but correct when you swipe up from corner instead of taking you back to the previous page in an app etc ,it just takes you straight to home screen .
It seems both OP gestures and a10 gestures are on simultaneously. There should be a way to disable a10 ones
I got it fully working on my 8 Pro I just need the assistant disabled it keeps popping up when I go back. I asked on the other thread (themes and apps) of the 2 button gestures control got no reply it's been a fews days. If after you set it in the app to activate then in settings, and buttons and gestures you should just see the how to on the bottom of the screen with no option to pick it but there activated

I still have assistant it pops up every time I go back I need it disabled. I ask on how to disable it. just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I figured with the assistant disabled on the corner I can still use the hey Google hot word. If not oh well I don't use it much enough to miss it.

Disable assistant on settings
---------- Post added at 12:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 PM ----------
Settings>apps& notification>default apps>assist & voice input>assist app> none
I wasn't able to disable Assistant as I have no option other than Google in the Assist & Voice input.
I found a way to disable the Assistant with the following adb command:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure assistant 0
This will remove the assistant gesture completely.
The only problem, that the setting resets after restart.
Another possible solution is to install Tasker from the Play Store and start it up.
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps > Assist & voice input > Assist app. Select Tasker and click OK.
Perform the assistant gesture and click "Stop Reminding".
Open Tasker again and in the menu on the top right just select Disable Tasker.

You can disable it through settings. Unsure of exactly where the setting is, but in settings, search for default assist.
Is it just me that despite all this tricks still ends up home when swiping for back on the right hand side?
I manage to only go back, but for that to work I need to swipe aaaal the way to the right (like on the curved part), and still there it triggers the to lines coming in from the sides and meeting up in the middle. I think this is something like a animation for the assistant.
I didn't know I was able to disable it (Google Assistant). thank you very much. Done and back to stock OnePlus gestures control. ? Much appreciated

And this option (none) as it is shown on the picture isn't shown to me. There are only Google Assistant, Firefox and a third app to choose but the option"none"is not offered. So it seems I am unable to disable the Assistant to get back the OnePlus gestures. Someone has any advice how to get it disabled?
If you follow my post to change it via the command of just change it to use Tasker, it'll work.
I don't have to option to select nothing either, but with the ADB command, you can force it, until a restart and this method will disable the gesture completely. If you decide to use tasker, the gesture will stay there, so you'll see the lines going from the corners towards the middle, but no action to8 be performed.

Yeah I have the same problem in apps and notifications / default apps./ Assist. On previous devices this is where I disabled the assistant, but the option none isn't here. The one found if searching for "default assist" is somewhere else, I think somewhere in Google settings as the background color changes to a lighter one.
