Hello,
I'm trying to install TWRP on a Galaxy A5 SM-A510F.
What I did :
Activate developer options
In developer options, enable USB Debugging
In developer options, enable OEM Unlock
reboot in download mode
with heimdall, downloaded PIT in a510f.pit
with heimdall, flashed twrp with the command : heimdall flash --pit a510f.pit --RECOVERY twrp-3.5.0_9-0-a5xelte.img
Heimdall says flash is successful, but when I reboot the phone in recovery mode, I'm still on the original Android recovery. Here is the flash log : https://pastebin.com/GdDbTEgE
Another problem that may be related : when I want to reboot in bootloader/fastboot mode, either from android recovery or from adb, it restarts in a normal mode.
Am I missing something ?
Thanks

Due to a wrong firmware flash on my GT-I9505 LTE my fhone is stuck on the Kies recovery screen(yellow triangel with two screens) I can get into download mode but Odin dont see the phone because USB debugging is off.
When i connect to KIES and choose initialize and firmware upgrade and y type in Model: GT-I9505 +the correct S/N i get the error : CAN'T INITIALIZE.
Someone who has a solution on this?
If you can enter in recovery you can try to flash firmware from adb sideload.
If you have the Philz Touch recovery the command is this: "apply update from adb"
If you want help with adb answer this tread and ask me

Thanks,but can not enter recovery.
Odin recognized the phone on a Win7 notebook. Now downloading firmware from Sammobile for flashing with Odin.
I think it should be solved after that.
Usb debugging is unrelated to download mode.
Hello people.
So i got a custom recovery (TeamWin project) for my Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 [A510F] and disabled OEM Unlock on purpose, because i thought it wouldn't show the red line up in the bootscreen.
After trying to reboot, it wouldn't reboot, and i can't go into Recovery mode. I can't install any custom firmware too, because i've got the OEM Unlock set to "off"
Can someone please help, i can't find a topic similiar to my case, where i've bricked my phone and have no idea what to do.
Also fastboot doesn't recognize my device even though the right drivers are installed.
Have you tried Download mode ( vol - home button and power button) ?

Just download official firmware and flash with odin. (Make sure not to downgrade os version. )
go to downloadmode, be sure drivers are installed, COM must be green, flash firmware with odin "only PDA", return into bootlader after reboot, flash twrp, boot into recovery mode done
Same thing happened to me.
Don't search for any file, the solution is very simple: download Samsung Smart Switch (only Windows, Mac version didnt work for me).
On menu click "Others" then "Emergency software recovery". Write A510F and then your phone Serial Number. Wait 30/60 mins ?

TWRP custom recovery installs but shows "cannot boot normally" on recovery mode boot
Hi, my device is Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sm-n900k (korean). I tried to flash custom recovery (twrp). These are the steps I followed:
-> Went into developers mode and checked USB debugging.
-> Went to security and disabled reactivation lock.
-> Downloaded latest Odin (v3.13.1).
-> Downloaded latest TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-0-hlte.img.tar).
-> Flashed TWRP with odin and Odin showed Pass.(I put my device into download mode did everything suggested in a thread )
-> then I tried to boot in recovery mode but , a message at the top of the screen was displayed in red color : "cannot boot normally".
Please help. Did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Yes. I downloaded it from twrp site. I am not allowed to post a link so the page I downladed it from goes like this:
twrp site -> Searched Samsunge Galaxy Note 3 -> Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Americas, China, Europe & Korea) (hlte)
Try older twrp
Or read the identical threads .
https://twrp.me/samsung/samsunggalaxynote3qualcomm.html
Actually I have already tried about 8 older versions. Upto " twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.img.tar " because the official site mentioned they update to support newer devices, I even tried using older version of Odin, also hit many similar threads. But there is very little thread for sm-n900k and reagrding this problem of TWRP not booting even with successful installation. But thanks anyways.
Try Philz Recovery or CWM if installs you can flash twrp zip
As the title says, my device is a SM-J727T1 with J727T1UVS6BSI2 (TMK) Baseband version, and Android 8.1.0.
I tried to root my device with TWRP and Magisk, but during the Download Odin process it throws an error "secure check fail: (recovery)". I have the Samsung USB Drivers and USB Debugging activated, but I can't activate the "OEM Unlock", because that option is missing in the Developer Options. There are some guides that requires fastboot mode, but this device doesn't have fastboot mode, only the Download Mode.
Then, I suppose that the bootloader is still locked. But I can't unlock it. So I cannot root with recovery mode, nor with CF Auto Root via Odin. I also tried to root it with apps like Kingroot (Stuck at 1%), One Click Root (Doesn't have support for this device), and some others with similar results.
My objective is to root the device and flash the TWRP recovery with its official app, Flashify, Mobile Uncle Tools, or Safestrap app. After that, install a custom ROM. In the Resurrection Remix official page it gives a official version to the on7xelte device, which I think is Galaxy J7 Prime. Is my device compatible or not?
Try to flash u4 boot if its pass the you're able to root, otherwise don't waste your time
