Seemingly unable to install from within apps (Titanium, Vanced, Magisk) - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I am on my second V20, H990DS this time and I am running Superv20 which I have been using the past few days and is a dream, bar these issues I have run into which seem to be related to each other.
I have been unable to get youtube vanced to install on this V20, and it returns with
'Installation failed for unkown reasons'
then in advanced
'java.io.FileNotFoundException: No such file or directory'
I was also restoring a backup with Titanium Backup from my other phone to get around snapchats root detection as magisk hide did not work. On restoring the app+data I am hit with a generic 'App not installed.' message, and then titanium hangs on the screen indefinitely until rebooting the phone (did manage to restore just Data after installing stock snapchat).
Then I remembered the first few times I attempted to setup the phone and update magisk and magisk manager. After updating magisk, the next time the phone was booted I got a simple grey background and small white writing filling half the screen with the first line stating something similar to
'Crash on the LK!' (might not be exact, didn't have my other phone to take a photo) and I had to reinstall the rom. I did this twice to test just in case it was a random issue.
My assumption is that it is related to storage somehow and I did manage to find one thread with a similar issue so I checked if internal was not the default install location, but pm get-install-location returns with
1[internal]
but also I have tried setting the storage to auto and external and neither worked (for vanced at least)
Unsure what to try next as my troubleshooting and searching for similar issues has run dry.
Help much appreciated and thanks in advance <3

Android Market: instant 'Download unsuccessful' message

Hi everyone,
I'm positing because I have a peculiar issue. I cannot download from the Android Market....and I have tried the solutions on the internet from clearing data/cache to trying to sync my google account in different ways...
Here is the background:
- Bought used Vibrant on craigslist
- rooted, unlocked, then unrooted, then hard reset
- no external SD card
After every hard reset, in two instances now, I have been able to download from Android market SUCCESFULLY for about a ~30 min window. After this time window, any download from Market does NOT work, and after clicking 'Install' immediately goes to the red triangle status 'Download unsuccessful.'
At all times, my internet still works fine, both on 2G/3G/wifi.
Android market website does NOT show my device (is this because the device only works with the very first sync when the phone was purchased??)
Something is locking me out from downloading. It's come to such a stupid workaround that since I know Market WILL work after a hard reset, I do a mass download of my app essentials in the ~30 minutes that I have.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Clear market cache
also, setting proper permissions on /data/ and /data/app might help (with a program like root explorer)
Do you use titanium backup? Restoring any setting? I got similar problem when I freeze "media container" in titanium backup.
Had this problem when z4mod was setting incorrect permissions on /system partition
All,
To avoid the issues with any roms/rooting, I unrooted the phone, as stated in the first post.
I basically got the phone back to 'stock' settings, and I have this issue. Any additional help would be great...this is my first experience with Android and it has only been headaches....
getting nostalgic with my old E71. haha
So, did you use odin to go to jfd?
I'm really interested and willing to help, just santo make sure I understand everything that you've done.
How did you root?
Why no external?

[Troubleshooting] Ghost Apps/ App install + compatibility isdues

I did a system+data wipe recently and reflashed CM10 + v4.zip...
Flashed minimal gapps (tejus.k.v's updated ones)
Wiped cache+dalvik.
Then I restored data from the backup I'd made before the wipe.
After booting, I noticed some apps were missing.
So I opened up Titanium Backup and selected 'Restore missing apps with data'.
Titanium Backup got stuck at restoring Viber (one of the missing apps) for 8 hours.
When I woke up and saw that the restore wasn't done after 8 hours, I force stopped Titanium Backup and tried installing the missing apps from Play Store.
>
On opening in Play Store, I get the message that these apps are not compatible with my phone. But I know that they are, as I'd installed them before.
I've just talked about Viber, but other apps like Runtastic, Runkeeper and Justdial are also giving me the same error.
>
I opened up Application Settings/ Installed Apps, and there I found these weird installs 'com.voip.viber' and such. Opening these installs didn't work, and even their icon images were missing. Some even had 0 bytes size, while some still have their original size.
So I uninstalled those nonfunctional app artifacts, thinking that this would solve my problem.
It didn't.
I still can't install the apps from market. Or from 3rd party apks. Viber troubleshooting provides an apk for people who can't install from market. Even that didn't work.
>
In case someone suggests that I reflash the sbf, I'd like to say that I've also done two full sbf flashes in the whole process.
After the first flashing of sbf and rooting, I installed multiboot 0.8, but I found it had only 3 vsels/freqs and no TLS/TWRP support, so I had to reflash the sbf again, coz I had no working recovery and 2ndboot wasn't working properly on multiboot 0.8.
>
I'm attaching relevant screenshots in case someone wants to take a look.

Please help me if you figure out a solution.

Lost internet afterwards instaling adaway/adblock

Hi, I wanted to block some ads both on my browser and within apps, since I was getting drained up of my data plan without me realizing it (can't say it's all about the ads).. but anyhow, I have both adaway and adblock+ apks hanging around which I installed on my ex s6 and installed without a hassle (I hadn't remember if they blocked ads within apps but I was to test it), so i went and installed both and it kept saying the server for retrieving the lists on adaway weren't found, so I thought it to be a problem with my data connection and waited to get back home and try on wifi (I didn't realized that I lost my internet access since then - had a busy day at work) and when I tried on wifi, I was able to download the list and then it ask me to reboot for changes to apply. After reboot it couldn't get access to download the list (it was set an update on start) so I uninstalled it.
Then I tried to configure adblock+ and I wasn't getting any connection either, so I uninstalled it too. Afterwards I realized I didn't have a connection at all (I could connect both to data and wifi but neither was passing through). So doing some research I realized both kept 'active' (the modified hosts file was still there) so I installed them both and disabled both, but I still had no internet). Then I disabled adaway again check on the hosts file content and saw there were too lines (localhost 127.0.0.1 and ::1 127.0.0.1) or the like. I restarted and had some whatsapp mesages come through but whenever I tried to access internet trough playstore, weather widget and so forth, I lost internet access again even por whatsapp. I kept trying to the other hosts files locations (those listed within the adaway app) to see if there was the problem but it said something about needing a create a link or so and I didn't accept and stayed on trying on the default one (data/system/hosts or so). Finally, after some more tries I couldn't get internet access but I'd got an error about samsungdevicesecutity service failed and went and freezed it on titanium and afterwards I had access to both whatsapp and playstore, so I went and uninstalled both adblock+ and adaway and rebooted so as to have a "clean start" (or so I thought) and I came up again without internet and haven't been able to reproduce what I had, no matter if I unfreeze the service, freeze it again, having it enabled and how many more times this service fails. Sorry about the long description, but I would believe that having a factory reset would solve this but since I didn't had the backup option enabled, I'm not sure if I would have to go through the process of installing / configuring everything again, so I wanted to make sure I could avoid the factory reset path.. anyone knows a way around this? Any help is appreciated.. thanks
I was freshly rooted with CF auto root (s7 edge international).
Best regards

I had crystal already installed and was using samsung's internet. But I was trying to block ads on apps and failed to do some research on more recent options like the ones you mention or adguard/netguard that I have seen being mentioned on other posts. Thanks for the suggestion and for the long reading..

Well, since I didn't had internet access I couldn't go through the factory reset path (I was asked my sam account to continue), but had to flash to stock first (doing this I recovered my internet access) but since it continued with the samsungdevicesecurity error I then proceeded with the factory reset (with the downside of having to reconfigure and reinstall everything). Thanks but I couldn't be that much time without internet access (work and all).

Help needed with constant Cyanogenmod 11 crashes on S4 GT-I9505

Anyone? Still having severe issues...
----
I have very happily used Cyanogenmod 11 on a Samsung S4 GT-I9505 for many years. Now suddenly after an apparently harmless update of a few Apps (gmail, youtube, firefox and a few more small ones), apps on my phone keep crashing whenever it accesses some deeper app info. Sometimes they even reboot my phone.
Symptoms: With a SIM card, the phone will crash and reboot right after entering the PIN for the SIM card. Without a SIM card, I can get to the lock screen, enter my unlock gesture and then see many, many messages that Trebuchet has crashed. Leaving the phone turned on for a night will result in a working Trebuchet launcher from which I can run most apps, but accessing Settings > Apps, for example, will briefly show the Apps and then crash Settings. Titanium Backup will run for about a minute while "Building data freshness information..." and then crash TB, sometimes even reboot the phone. Dragging an app icon from the launcher onto "App Info" will briefly display the app info while computing disk space and then crash. So I cannot reset cache or app data on the phone itself (I can through adb, though).
What I tried so far: Installed three other launchers but they showed the same symptoms, one even directly rebooted the phone. I booted into recovery and reset the Dalvik cache and let CM rebuild the app details on restart with no apparent positive effect. I tried removing the SD card but did not see any positive effect either. Booting into Safe Mode did not help, I still see systemui and trebuchet crashing upon restart. Also clearing the app data for Trebuchet (through 'adb shell pm clear com.cyanogenmod.trebuchet') did not remove the crashes.
Some more details: I have about 300 apps installed. Internal storage has about 1GB free, the SD card has 400MB available. I can connect to the phone via adb, but 'adb backup' produces only an empty file. I can run Play Store, list my apps, install updates. This is a Samsung S4 GT-I9505 running Cyanogenmod 11.0 based on Android 4.4.4.
Any help would be much appreciated! Moving all my apps and their settings to a new phone or a new OS would be a very big effort which I very much would like to avoid.
Thank you very much in advance!
PS: What would be the best way to make a full backup of the phone before trying out a new ROM?

I guess problem might be with update package. As of best way of backup, I use titanium background and it's pretty good!
Everyone's requirements and usage is different so you might try something else as well.

As mentioned, Titanium Backup is one of those apps that crashes.
Any other suggestions what I could do to get rid of those crashes?
Just in case someone else reads this - after a lot of trial and error, I was able to identify a single app (ISS Detector) as the culprit. Uninstalling the app removed all the crashes. Re-installing it would crash-boot the phone immediately after the install was complete!
I have NO IDEA why a normal app would be able to crash the entire OS but I am glad to be able to use my phone again.

[BUG] Google Play Store no installed app after clearing cache+data | apps cost again

Hi everyone,
it seems the Play Store has got the same problem as years ago. After a clearing of cache and data, I have and empty installed app list and if I try to download apps bought time ago, they cost again.
I talked about the problem and it seemed to be related with detaching script on roms or apps like iytbp. No solutions found over the internet works (delete and readd the account, clearing cache partition, etc).
The only way to restore it was to restore back a previous titanium backup, data only, from a clean installation or from an uncleared play store.
It happened to me on XXX 9.1 but it's not rom related, 'cause it happened again on a clean installed stock Oreo 8.0 rom after installing iytbp with detach.plz method. But today a guy tried on a full stock Oneplus 5 and it happened the same (no root, no unlocked bootloader).
Can you please try if you have the same problem? After a Play Store backup, of course. I already sent a google feedback about that and, if you have the same problem, a google operator suggested to feedback them about that. Thanks in advance for the attention.
P.S. I tried the same on my Wiko Fever (full stock and updated) and it seems to have no problem at all. It also happended on Nougat, but I have not tested a lot.
Same issue here. I've also used the iYTBP detach script, you say it is caused by this? Have you found a solution? I'd rather not have to do a whole factory reset seeing as I don't have TB.
EDIT:
Found the solution to the problem for me. Not sure if this will fix it for good but for now Play store will update and installed apps show up. This solution requires root access. This is what I did:
1. Make full backup in TWRP.
2. Go to "system/priv-app/phonesky", cut the phonesky.apk (apk file for the Play store) file out of the directory to for example your documents folder.
3. Do a full (regular) reboot.
4. Copy the same apk you just move away form it's directory back to it's place (system/priv-app/phonesky).
5. Do another full reboot.
6. Wait about 30 seconds and the Play store should back on your device and functioning normally.
EDIT 2:
Issue where apps don't recognise that the user has purchased it still persists. After uninstalling the app and reinstalling it this issue got fixed.
