S8 bricked / stuck in recovery mode, what did I do? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
first of all: I'm a noob and I've got no idea what I did. I appreciate all of your help to get my phone back alive!
My phone (Samsung Galaxy S8, SM-G950F, stock ROM, Android 9.0, not rooted or anything else) is stuck in recovery mode. It doesn't react to any buttons (e.g. very-long-press power button) or connecting a USB cable, also my PC and Odin with all drivers installed won't recognise the device.
What I did: I went into download mode to check if I could find my RMM status (I didn't) and navigated to "view recovery logs". I entered /cache/recovery/last_log and scrolled through it until I reached "back". I confirmed with the power button and - then I can't really remember what was there on the screen - I got into a similar log screen. It took a while and I pressed the Vol-down key quickly numerous times.
Then it happened: there was a screen with some options to choose from (written in blue) but spamming the button I probably entered something. Another log (or whatever) showed up --> see photos. It took about 20-30 minutes to reach 100% and then went back to the Android recovery screen, where it's been stuck for about an hour now. I tried cancelling it numerous times times with long-pressing power button, but nothing happened.

(log) (log) (log at 100%) (the screen where it's stuck now, detailed pictures attached)
PLEASE help, is there anything I can do besides waiting for the battery to die and reboot?
Big thanks in advance!
---
Note: the device has been factory reset recently with no data on it, OEM unlocking and USB debugging were checked in developer options as I was about to flash TWRP.

1)Download stock firmware from sammobile or else (exact your device and model)
2) Download Odin
3)See video on youtube if noob(obviously ) to flash stock by going to download mode
After successful installation u will have your cell back
Cheers......

Thanks for the advice, but I found that pressing Power + Volume Down for 20+ sec. could eventually shut down the phone. After that it rebooted into recovery mode, even though it took ages.
Now I'm a happy owner of a LineageOS S8 btw
Entering download mode wouldn't have been possible at the stage I described in my first post, as the device didn't react to anything at all.

[Q] Unable to Root (Write Protection Enabled)

Hey there,
I got my Galaxy S4 and I wanted to install CWM and custom Roms. Because the phone is fresh there is no custom recovery to install zips with and I don't want to use strange rooting methods. I put the phone into download mode, started Odin, selected a CWM_<...>.tar as PDA and pressed Start. The flashing seemingly went well but I can't enter the recovery with power + home + volume up. The phone tries to launch it but then just shows the battery icon you see when charging it while its off.
I went back into download mode and noticed there was a message saying "Write Protection: Enable". Whats this supposed to mean? Can't I use Odin? Do I need to unlock the bootloader or something like that? Thats what I had to do on my HTC Desire but when I installed a custom recovery on my brothers Galaxy S3 I could just use Odin.
Here's a screenshot of the download mode.
At least my Knox is still on... yeah...

If you only try to flash the recovery:
Then uncheck auto-reboot before flashing.

[Q] Help / Stuck [D800] - Can't get computers to see phone in Download Mode

I've probably used the LG Flash Tool 10 times the past week on both my home and work computer with no problems. Last night I flashed the KK bootloader and a stock 5.0.2 ROM (after tot'ing back to 4.4.2, rooting, etc).
It hangs at the LG logo and that's where I'm stuck. I tried going into Download Mode, but suddenly both of my computers won't see the phone and give me an error in Device Manager. I've tried uninstalling / reinstalling the drivers as well. Why in the world would that happen unless somehow Download Mode was corrupted, possibly? But it goes into Download Mode fine, and appears to look right...
I've tried getting into recovery but can't. When it should load up TWRP (after telling the G2's "stock" recovery screen I do want to reset), I get the green spinning Android (not the red exclamation) for a second, then it tries to boot up.

Any advice would be appreciated as I've never run into this before.
So when the green Android popped up, I tried to hit a combination of the volume and power keys and WAS able to get into recovery. Unfortunately, it appears, somehow, TWRP was overwritten by the stock recovery. I have no idea how that could've happened. Or does stock recovery technically stay in place since this is "loki'd" and not actually unlocked? And if so, is there some way to get back to TWRP that I'm unaware of?
To add to the weirdness, when I plug it in to charge, it doesn't pull up the battery like it usually does when powered off, it just tries to boot up again...
If I could just get the computers to recognize it again...
Installing the LG PC Suite got my drivers to a point where it could recognize it while in Download Mode. MTP still didn't work, but that didn't matter for Download Mode. Not sure what happened, but at least I was able to flash it back again.

[HELP] Bricked my phone while trying to root, can't load recovery only download mode

Hello there, I am very very new, so please forgive if I do a mistake.
So earlier today I was trying to root my S5(SM-G900H) and I was trying out this method: http://www.androidrootz.com/2014/04/how-to-root-galaxy-s5-recovery-root.html
Everything was going smooth, Odin showed me the "PASS!" too, but when I pressed the volume up, home and power button keys together, nothing happened and the phone was on the download mode, it didn't do anything. So I took out the battery and rebooted, and it rebooted normally and I was able to use it again. I tried the same method at least 10 times more but always failed. Then after some time I stumbled upon this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537
Followed all steps except one, didn't uncheck the "Auto Reboot" box and the "F. Reset Time" simply because Odin didn't let me, the boxes were dim and the mouse didn't respond on hovering over them. So, now my mistake, I pressed start anyway and Odin got to the blue box saying "RESET" or something and my phone restarted and the "Samsung Galaxy S5" logo and the "Powered by android" logo screen came up and it has been stuck there forever. I tried getting it into recovery a lot of times but recovery just won't come however it does load the download mode, so I tried the same "[SM-G900*] CF-Auto-Root" method, only this time I used a version of Odin that let me uncheck all the boxes, I tried several times but it just got stuck on the download mode like it happened in the first method, I rebooted and still stuck on the black and white samsung screen, yes that's right, not even the boot up animation. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP. I'M DYING
Here is a picture of what my problem looks like:

Download a stock firmware for your device model, and install it via Odin.
The best way to do it, is do it through kies3. Go:
tools > Firmware Upgrade And Initialisation, and follow the on screen steps. It will ask you for your serial number and model number, so have it handy. This is how I have saved my galaxy devices numerous times.

Issues returning to stock

Howdy everyone...
OnePlus 7t Pro McLaren edition (International Edition **NOT T-MOBILE**)
Model: HD1913
Current Software Build: Oxygen OS 10.0.5.HD01AA (OTA update when I first unboxed).
I am having issues trying to return to stock. I rooted the phone with a combination of a couple guides found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/10-0-3-patched-boot-image-oneplus-7t-pro-t3986351 and . I noticed after doing that I was missing the stock Oxygen apps and my build information was missing data. Not a huge deal, but I need to wipe the phone and start from scratch anyway, for other reasons. I decided to go back to stock if I have to redo everything anywhere.
First thing I tried, I got the stock firmwares (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/oneplus-7t-pro-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t4003455). And this is where my issues started. My software build is weird... I have the HD1913, however my software build is HD01AA. Per that post, I should have HD01BA. I grabbed both of them for giggles, put them on my storage and booted into TWRP. Tried to flash the HD01AA (since that was what I have now), and it failed. Tried the other one, same issue. I'm getting a bunch of errors while trying to mount the system ("System unable to mount: invalid argument").
Second thing I tried, was to use the built in software update that OnePlus says to use (through the system update). It wouldn't install them (surprise).
Third attempt... Using the MsmDownloadTool (https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/op7tpro-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-t4002909) I downloaded both versions cause I don't know which to use, and followed the instructions to get the phone into the mode. Turn the phone off, hold the vol up button and plug the cable in (very simple). It shows up connected in the software. Exactly 5 seconds later, the phone reboots and boots normally... I repeat this process aprox. 2.3 million more times. It does not matter what USB-C cable I use, the port on my computer, or how long I hold the buttons. The phone will boot into the download mode (or whatever it's called) show up as connected in MsmDownload and then reboot.
The phone works. I am still able to boot it up.... All I want to do is get this phone back to stock. I don't HAVE to, but now that it's fighting me, I have to beat it...

Okay - After sacrificing an iPhone to the Android God, I got it.
Instead of using the button combination to get into EDL Mode, I found an article that gave an adb command (adb reboot edl) to get to it. It did not reboot this time, and I was able to flash HD01BA to it, which matches what the phone should have...

Galaxy Tab S5e - in bootloop - help needed

Dear crowd, I need support with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e/SM T-725 (it is my first Samsung device).
I unlocked it and tried flashing it (with Odin3). This was not successful and now I do not manage to get the device to boot into the Download Mode anymore.
The device does not switch on anymore - only with charging cable connected. In this case it turns on and off eternally showing the below screenshot.
Connecting a USB-C cable while pressing combinations of Power+ any volume key combination does not lead to any result. Only pressing Power+VolumeUp+VolumeDown brings is for a little moment to the screen where I chose to unlock the device, bot after one secons it turns off again being in bootloop subsequently.
SmartSwitch as indicated on the screenshot below does not do anything as the device is constantly turning off again.
Does anyone have a clue how to convince the device to finally allow me flashing TWRP and a custom ROM in this situation?
Advice is more than welcome!.

This warning screen is still download mode. Try flash stock rom via Odin.
Chosse exact firmware, when start flashing you will see the white bar below that text.
Unfortunately, it does not work as the device switches off too quickly. Odin3 then just reports failure.
I wonder if there is a way to prevent the device from switching off so quickly.

so sorry, mine stuck at warning sreen so i can easy flash back.
If your tab fast switches off then maybe it got bootloader damaged, you need research flash by Qualcomn flash tool like QFIL, flashsing for Qualcomn chipset device when it in QDLoader 9008 mode.
