I've been attempting to re-load factory firmware on this device, but when I hold volume-up and plug in a USB cable, it would flash the "download" screen for a part of a second then jump to the "Cannot verify the firmware" screen, then go straight to twrp rather than download mode.
So, I rebooted to fastboot mode, and did a "fastboot flashing lock" hoping that it would stop trying to verify the firmware and just get straight into download mode for LGUP. This seems to be where my biggest mistake was.
So, now, I get a quick flash of download mode, then straight into "Your device is corrupt." How can I prevent the "Your device is corrupt" and get back to the "Download" mode where LGUP will actually see it and work with it?
Thanks!
Got into fastboot. Unfortunately, I haven't checked "Enable OEM Unlock" in Developer options, and it won't boot to anything anymore.

US version here - Phone gets stuck on "can't check bootloader screen" when booting up
I use the b19 version. But anytime I try to flash superuser(I've tried new and older versions of both TWRP and SU.zip), it gets stuck on the "your device can't be checked. Please lock the bootloader" screen. I've let it go for 5 minutes and it stays here. I then have to use Miflash and EDL mode to flash the B19 file for it to boot up, but there's no root.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: I'm a moron and wasn't doing it right. Sleep deprivation! Mods, please delete/lock if you can. I don't know how. Thanks!
Greetings all,
I recently got a P9 Lite but I bricked it trying to install a newer firmware on it (tried to go from 6.0 to 7.0). I've read various unbricking guides over the past two days but to no avail. I'd like to know what my options are at this point and if it is possible to unbrick it and bring it back to a usable state even if on a different rom.
How I got here:
The firmware that came with my phone was L23C605B120. I tried to update it to L23C605B362 and downloaded 2 zips (update.zip and update_data_full_VNS-L23_hw_la.zip). I unzipped update.zip into the dload folder of my sdcard and updated it via the dialer. The update installed and my device rebooted but now to this bootloop state.
What I can do:
If booting up normally, I end up in Huawei's erecovery. I can also boot to recovery mode where I can either "Wipe data/factory reset" or "Wipe cache partition". I can boot to fastboot & rescue mode but it says my phone and frp are locked. When pushing all three buttons I can boot to where the phone will attempt to update with the dload folder in the sd card again.
Stuff I have tried:
In erecovery when I select "download latest version and recovery", I can connect to my wifi but it always fails at "Getting package info failed". In recovery mode the factory reset fails and I don't think wiping the cache partition did anything meaningful. In fastboot & rescue mode it tells me to open HiSuite where there is a recover option but clicking it says "Your device is not supported for system recovery". I can see my device using fastboot on my computer but it seems almost useless here since its useful commands fail with "command not allowed" probably because my bootloader is locked. On my computer I installed the USB drivers adb needs and rebooted but adb cannot see my device presumably because I hadn't enabled USB debugging prior to getting bricked. At this point I'm downloading different roms to my sdcard and trying to flash with the 3 buttons method but pretty much all of them fail at 5% or 7% including the rom with the same version that my phone came with. The only one that doesn't fail at 5% or 7% is the rom I tried to flash that bricked my phone which fails at 99%.
So I cannot flash TWRP because my bootloader is locked, I cannot unlock my bootloader because adb cannot see my device, adb cannot see my device because I probably never enabled USB debugging and I cannot enable USB debugging because I cannot boot to the OS. At this point my only option seems to be trying to flash a working rom with my sdcard but I have yet to find one that works.
Where should I go from here and what are my options at this point? Is there a specific rom I should be looking for? Is there some intermediate downgrade rom I have to flash or is there a way to undo the update I just did? Is there a way to somehow enable USB debugging or to unlock my bootloader without it (perhaps via an exploit)?
Any help would be much appreciated!
TL;DR: title
1.-Well, i cant access to my phone because it says "encryption unsuccessful"
2.-When i enter to fastboot mode it says "PHONE Relocked" and "FRP Lock"
3.-I cant access to recovery mode (3 button mode) because it start to download something and then it says "Software install failed"
4.-When i try to unlock fastboot it says "Failed Remote:Comand not allowed" and it happens with Relock and lock too
5.-I cant even install stock rom because i cant unlock fastboot
How it happened:
I was watching a tutorial of reset your phone to factory, it says to active "Oem unlock" from settings, and then turn off my phone, enter to fastboot mode and when you are in ADB lock the fastboot with the code, after i did it all happened like i said.
I dont know what to do help plz
PD: Sorry for my english. I tried my best
Hi, so a friend give me this phone with this problem and I'm trying to solve it. The fastboot menu works, bootloader is locked, and the options there are start, factory mode, meta mode and recovery mode. The only one that works is recovery mode, the other 3 get stuck in the m logo and at the bottom says powered by android (no animation or anything). Recovery mode says no command, but by pressing power+vol. up you can acces it. However, when i do that, it only shows at the bottom "supported api: 3". No options or menu, so i don't know what to do. It has usb debugging off and oem locked, and when connected to the pc, fastboot devices and adb devices commands don't recognised the phone.
Any suggestions?

Sorry if this in the wrong forum. I'm trying to flash Lineage onto this S8 (G950FXX, dreamltexx). I turned on the Developer options and OEM unlock is toggled on. Underneath it says "Bootloader is already unlocked". USB debugging is toggled on. I used Odin 3.14.1 load twerp-3.4.0-0-dreamlte.img.tar and got a "PASS". I put a copy of SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502.zip in the Download folder on the phone. I disconnected the S8 from my PC turned it off and attempted to boot into TWERP by holding down Vol_Up+Home+Power. It fails every time and I get the collapsed android with the exclamation mark and "No Command", then after a few seconds the Android Recovery screen appears with its 10 options. At the bottom of this screen the last error message says "#fail to open recovery_cause(No such file or directory)# I haven't installed any new drivers for the S8. I just plugged it into the Win10 PC and it seemed to find it. I don't know where to look for drivers if that is the problem.
I tried using adb and fastboot "./adb devices" seems to find the phone and report its ID number followed by the word "device". "./adb reboot-recovery" doesn't boot into TWERP I just get a reboot into Android. "./fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-0-dreamlte.img" just gives <waiting for any device >. I'm at a loss. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
