Hi All,
I used to own a Pixel XL and still have the same Samsung tv. I used to be able to watch you Youtube on my phone and it didn't matter whether I was watching Youtube or Netflix or NowTv on my TV, I would be able to cast the video to my TV without any issues. This is without a chromecast and simply using whatever is built internally in the TV.
Now with my Oneplus 8 pro, I have to be on the Youtube app on the TV in order for the casting to work. So If I am watching Netflix and I want to cast my youtube video I can't simply cast it from the Youtube app on my phone, I must switch to the Youtube app on the TV first.
I have checked my TV and my phone is listed as an allowed device, I also tried using wifi direct on my phone and the TV is listed there, so it seems both are connected however there is an issue with casting from youtube on my phone.
Does this make sense? Does anyone else have this issue?

Im using a miracast dongle to mirror my s7 screen on my tv but games/videos are laggy and choppy.
Im sitting close to my miracast dongle so the distance isnt an issue.
Any ideas how to fix this? From what I read, with miracast I should be able to stream 1080p videos without an issue.
But I got this annoying delay on everything!

Maybe it's related to the fact that you are using a dongle. I am using screen mirroring on my smart-tv with miracast embedded natively and
videos run actually smoothly. I am watching all my shows this way with mx player or vlc.

Screen mirroring with my samsung tv also works perfect. But that doesnt mirror everything. I want to output everything on tv so I can play emulators etc on tv. Not just media files.
My note 4 supported hdmi out. But samsubg removed this feature on s7.
I am using kodi on my S7 edge and use smartview to watch it on my Samsung Smart TV. It connects fine but as soon as I turn my phone screen off the TV signal also goes. Is there any way around this. On my iPhone I used casting apps to cast videos, is this possible with kodi?
How can i connect my nexus 6p to tv?
As i read, my phone does not support the mhl, but if I use an adapter micro usb to type c , then can I use the mhl to hdmi to connect the phone to tv?
Thank you!

Unfortunately I don't think itll work--mhl not supported. Your only option is probably to get a chromecast, or I have a nexus player that performs the same function--mirror display, cast.
Both can be had for pretty cheap, especially if you go with a used one on ebay. More money than an adapter, but not unreasonably more. Plus you can stay seated instead of walking to the TV.
So my only choice is the chromecast, isn't it? I have some questions about it. Can I watch on tv everything which i am watching on my phone? For example if one webpage have a video (non in youtube) and i open it via bsplayer or video gallery or something else, can i watch it on full screen on tv?
Thank you for helping.

I dont own a chromecast, and I use fire tvs as my main streaming devices (lousy casting functionality except youtube & netflix). But I have played around with casting on nexus player. Id check to make sure it does what you want before buying but rule of thumb--if you see a cast icon in an android app/within the video box itll cast that video to the chromecast device. OR if you go into settings>display>cast --you can choose your chromecast device and itll mirror your phone screen to TV. Good luck

Yes you can I can confirm this. I have Chromecast, I just mirror my phone to the screen and everything I do on my phone it shows on the Chromecast connected to the TV
I just got my 6p,i have my oneplus 2 and nexus 7 which has no problem with casting on my tv.Unfortunately google has disabled to "enable wireless display" option. I heard you can enable it if you root you're phone but for now i dont want to root my phone yet.

I have a Samsung smart TV from about 5yrs ago, and it works for me.
Have you tried to force restart the TV?(hold power until the Samsung logo shows up, the standby led will blink like mad)
Other than that try reinstalling the YouTube app on the tv,
Also try using the YouTube URL to link to your account ( I think it's YouTube.com/linktv).
Hi Guys,
I try to clone Netflix be cause the mibox has a login stored (from people i don't see anymore) which i want to use on the philips tv.
Swift backup doesn't see netflix. I thought i'll backup Netflix whith Swift and restore it on the Philips TV.
If i'm correct i can't root the mibox without loosing 4k netflix quality.
Since you guys are the professionals i'm curious about your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.
Well this seems wrong. Why would you want to do something like that anyway.
Well, we have one dumb TV with the mibox for watching cable TV on that TV. The mibox needs to be hooked on that dumb TV to watch television. We bever watch netflix on that one.
The other TV is smart and in the main livingroom. Everytime we want to watch something on netflix (very rarely) we need to fysically move the mibox (just for that one time).
That 4 screen UHD netflix subscription is too expensive for the occasionally viewing
