My 501CG is in a bootloop and can't go to recovery.
The device can be detected by adb but I can't sideload anything. I've tried everything I know but couldn't fix it.
I tried to post a screenshot but the forum won't allow me and I can't explain what the problem looks like so I don't know what to do now...
Please help me. Thank you.

Can you go to fastboot? Adb still reconize it then go to ADB and type adb reboot bootloader then try to flash the recovery and factory reset. If the problem still exist after factory reset you will need to look up for system.imgs files for the zenfone 5 and flash the system imgs from fastboot

Thank you so much for helping me.
When I type adb reboot bootloader, it says <waiting for device> and stays that way.
I have a screenshot of the error but I can't post the proper link. Here's a modified version of the link, just replace the <dot> with a period I guess if that would work. That's the only way I can show what happens to the phone.

Sorry, I'm also not very familiar with how adb, fastboot, and whatever else works, but I learn fast and can follow commands.
Well the mmcblk1 partition i think is messed up @dgadelha can you help us with this?
Hey there!
Thanks @ChristopherXI for noticing me.
@Teks0427, can you please try this guide? It will rebuild your partition table and install Android 4.3.
Hope it helps!

Well. Did it work? Have any luck?
I'm so sorry for disappearing all of a sudden like that. I had to attend to a LOT of things and I totally forgot about the phone.
I'm gonna give it a go tonight and post whatever happens here right away.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate the help...
Hi! The phone won't go to droidboot mode. PressingPOWER + VOLUME UP brings me to the Asus bootup screen (sometimes with a black background and sometimes with a blue one) and the words
CSC Mode
long press power key to restart system
And sometimes it's just the normal Asus bootup screen (and gets stuck there). On that CSC mode screen, plugging in the USB and typing "fastboot devices" does nothing
D:\501KL>fastboot devices
Booting up in recovery mode works, and when in the recovery mode menu page, typing "fastboot devices" still does nothing but typing adb devices gets this response:
D:\501KL>adb devices
List of devices attached
051c7013 recovery
D:\501KL>
Running (as administrator) the file sec_offline_update_image.cmd from the recovery menu page gets this response:
D:\501KL>fastboot oem backup_config
< waiting for device >
And it stops there.
Also, when plugging the USB cable to the phone, it starts installing an "MTP USB Device" but always fails after a few minutes.
I already tried bringing the phone to the accredited Asus Zenfone repair center here in the Philippines but they said they don't have the firmware to flash this model. They didn't give any explanation nor did they refer me to anyone else who might know how to fix this thing.

Read his problem carefully.
He has a 500KL not a 500CG.
That guide will not work
Apologies for saying thus but if there are no RAW firmware of the LTE model. It's pretty hopeless

The sec_offline_update_image is for A500CG/A501CG only.
I'm sorry but I do not own an A501KL so I can't help you with that.
And if ASUS can't help you, sue them for that.
Bro You Should change your """Title:501CG Can't mount /cache/recovery/log ... etc"""
Yes, I'm so sorry. I noticed the error in the title just now. I got confused with my 2 Asus phones that I put the wrong model in the title. Stupid stupid me...
I'm so sorry for the mess.

Please help, I need proffessional help.
Android Phone: ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 (ROOTED)
Android Firmware: 5.0.2 Lollipop
Aim: To enter into Fastboot mode and Recovery Mode without problems
Situation: Recently installed TWRP Recovery in-app and through software, but when I try to enter in Fastboot Mode (HOLD POWER & VOLUMEUP) or even Recovery Mode (HOLD POWER & VOLUMEDOWN), I just end up in a hanged out ASUS Logo. I can't do anything except pulling out the battery myself and putting it back then booting the device through power button to boot it normally. I don't know if it's the problem with the model, or the phone's system itself, or it's just a bug, or a problem when I rooted my device through ADB.
(Note: When I rooted the device, I wasn't even able to see the blue "FASTBOOT MODE" when I tried it, I only saw the ASUS logo as well.)
For anyone who has any idea on what's going on with my device, please reply and help me. I really want to have the benefits of a rooted phone completly and I'm a new root user so I need assistance.
For anyone who has an idea on what I've done or on what should I do, please help me. Someone told me that I flashed the recovery and locked the bootloader, so it got damaged. If so, would Unlocking the Bootloader (from Wiki.CyanogenMod's Site) help my case?

I think I have "access" to TWRP recovery. However, I can only access it through booting it up from ADB. I used the command "adb reboot bootloader" to boot it to fastboot mode, however only the ASUS screen appears but I treated it as the fastboot mode itself. Then I checked if it was really on fastboot mode through "fastboot devices" and it showed my serial number. I can only enter into TWRP using "fastboot boot twrp.img" . I don't know if I already installed it because although I opened it, I can't do it from the phone (POWER+VOLUMEDOWN)
Ok now boot twrp and then flashamodified zip or cm13 and your phone should eork you dhould to have unlockrd bootloader
Hi to all, i'd re-open this 3d for the same problem. After months I'm trying to re-sleep my ZE500KL. It was in "can't load invalid boot image" loop. I tried to force recovery mode and (wrongly) force to update from update.zip the stock fw stored in the uSD.
Since this time I can't enter in recovery mode more but fastboot only. The problem is that, in spite of the USB drivers are installed, fastboot does not recognize any connected device.
I've run Win 10 pro with a zenbook ux333fn laptop and I remembered android 6 on the phone, the last time I saw it alive.
I've tried also to install twrp 3.1, with no positive results.
Anyone can suggest me any solving way?
Thanks to all

QFIL or AFT can be the solution.
I have a similar problem, a hard bricked Z00ED (ZE500KL) not able to get into fastboot or recovery.
after reading some thread here an there. that are Processor / Chipset specific flash tools that help flash bootloaders and repartition hard bricked device.
For mobiles with MediaTec devices, there is a tool called SP Flash Tool. I wasted a whole day with it. then understood that Z00ED (ZE500KL) has a Qualcomm Processor MSM8916
Therefore we need a Qualcomm Flasher here (QFIL )
But nos I am stuck with getting firmware for ZE500KL that can be used by QFIL tool, It should have a firehouse*.mbr file that is the programmer (dependent on CPU of the phone) and a rawprogram*.hex file that I don't know where to get from.
Thanks... It seems a bit less wild, but in any case no solving, yet

Hi everyone, i cant enter to EDL mode, i need it because my stock rom is unstable(All start with OTA update), after update it show me "unfortunately android.... has stopped " every 3-5 seconds. EDL works fine yesterday and i try to install fastboot rom, but since MiFlash get error when i install fastboot rom i cant reboot in EDL. Hope you can help me.
note: I try reboot trough fastboot and do same thing as the video.
youtube. com/watch?v=gPh1yE3or8g&feature=youtu. be
(Sorry for the video post, but i cant find something like this case in web and i really need help)
You can try load in fastboot, connect to pc and run edl.cmd from archive.
www28.zippyshare.com/v/sKankJGd/file.html
go to fastboot and type "Fastboot oem edl" then enter and you will find the device got into the EDL mode
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery is the best way
I have the same problem
Hi! I have the same problem! I can´t get to EDL mode, also I cant update with MiFlash anymore.
I´ve been searching for over a week for a solution but I can´t fix the phone.
I´ve done the following.
1. Bought the Redmi 3S phone from Gearbest, came with a rom with adware, I was unable to update the rom from the updater.
2. I downloaded an Official Fastboot ROM from the XIaomi website, then updated to latest version MIUI Official TeamVersion Stable ROM: V8.1.1.0.MALMIDI (MIUI8), without unlocking bootloader.
3. After succesfully updating the phone, Android starts but then I get a continuos error message and I cant do anything. Now I can only get to Fastboot Mode (EDL does not work anymore, even using Fastboot EDL mode). If I try to flash it again with Mi Flash I get Flash tz error.
4. I applied for unlocking, received the message after 48 hours but I am stuck on 50% with the error -current account is different from account info on the device xiaomi-
5. I am unable to update the firmware using fastboot mode, recovery mode or EDL mode, Unable to unlock the bootloader. Already tried several methods with no results.
Please help!
Thank you very much.
If your issue is just to go to EDL mode and get back Qualcomm 9008 port com why not to try the "cable trick" found for the redmi note3.
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads...-edl-no-fastboot-no-logo-no-led-solved.34113/
See post n°22 and it is no risk to try it. The cable would be reusable.
You have also many other posts on the subject, just goole it.
Here's a really easy way to make a deep flash cable http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-3s/help/help-bricked-phone-t3510277/post70029683#post70029683

hello xda community
I made sure to try everything (or almost) before post here
my ZenFone 5 show a message that it cannot mount the cache partition and I am stuck on the Asus logo (I can access droidboot and recovery but I cannot replace them)
factory reset and cache wipe does not make any change (they return the same "can't mount cache" error.
I am trying to change the current droidboot and recovery to fastboot and TWRP but not matter how much I flash them, it does not take change (yes, I am unlocking the bootloader)
I am also executing a script to get the original partitions table back but when sec_offline_update_image.cmd executes the command "fastboot oem partition /tmp/partition.tbl" I get the error "FAILED(remote: GPT command failed)"
as this came out of thin air, I didnt have the chance to activate developer mode on my phone
I starting to get concerned .... any help?
thnk you very much in advance

ZenFone 5 - A501CG T00J
Serial # with 0123456789ABCDEF issue
Box info: A501CG2 / A501CG-1F589 / CPU Intel Clover Trail Plus + Dual Core 1.6 Ghz, Purple, 8GB RAM
I already checked basically all links on Google related to the above issues (4 days Googling it already).
I really don't know what to do anymore.
A little more context @dgadelha.
2 months ago, I unlocked my bootloader for the 1st time and installed BlueLight 3.24.40.87... after the installation I locked my bootloader again using the boot, recovery and droidboot images contained in UL-ASUS_T00F-TW-3.24.40.87-user (Asus' official).
BlueLight worked fine with minor bugs for 2 months until past week when it suddenly started to crash a LOT, get slow and overheat (I didn't had time to fix it).
Then suddenly, all Android services and apps on the phone crashed and the phone turned off entering in a bootloop (Asus logo) everytime I reboot.
Since then I am getting the "E:Failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)" issue when loading the recovery mode.
Since then I am also not being able to flash anything on my phone... no different recovery, no other fastboot and no other image... I get success messages on the flash process but nothing changes after restart (I can still access droidboot and recovery but nothing works there as the "Failed to mount /cache" error pops up for any action I try... recovery mode shows version 3.24.40.87_201).
When I try a system image via adb sideload I get error "Total xfer: 0.00x".
When I try "sec_offline_update_image.cmd" I get an error on the command "fastboot oem partition /tmp/partition.tbl"... the error is "FAILED(remote: GPT command failed)".
I have tried 2 different "partition.tbl" files... one that contains the "spare" partition and another one that contains "misc" instead... both failed.
I am now currently trying xFSTK (I don't even know what this does on my phone) and ASUS Flash Tool... ASUS Flash Tool returns "Flash image failure (FAILED (remote: GPT command failed))".
PS: I forgot to activate developer mode and other related options before the crash.
I hope that my phone is somehow alive... btw, thank you very much in advance!!!

Hi,
Did you have any kernel mods when using BlueLight?
Sorry but I don't know if it had a custom kernel, but a custom one could have lead a storage drive crash.
Also, xFSTK will just attempt to restore your droidboot and dnx/ifwi, not the partition table or w.e.
Maybe you could try extracting the Jelly Bean RAW file with 7-Zip, flash the droidboot signed image (should be like, fastboot flash fastboot file.img, or fastboot flash droidboot file.img), the droidboot signed image name might be something like droidboot.signed_POS.bin (it's an img file too, but with a bin extension).
After flashing that droidboot image, reboot your bootloader and try running the sec_offline_image_update.cmd again.
I wish I had Zenfone Assist active yet, but had to take down it.
Thanks
Hey jaabax, were you able to fix your device ?
Hi @vikrammarkiv.

Unfortunately I could not fix it and I ended up buying another phone.
Could you fix it?
Sorry again and hope you fixed it.

today , I unlocked the bootloader of my Real Me 2 Pro and everything was fine and after I tried to boot it back to system after flashing magisk and the decryption.zip , I got this message saying " The current boot / recovery image have been destroyed and can not boot. Please flash the correct image or contact customer service to fix it"
I can just flash the official firmware or any ohter ROM but the PC can't seem to detect the fastboot mode and neither am I able to boot into fastboot / recovery.
can someone please help.!

Dont worry you do have a unlocked device so u need a pc to do that download system.img, vendor.img for your device and just open cmd then type this fastboot flash system system.img then fastboot flash vendor vendor.img and reboot it second method if you dont have an pc not sure that it will work you need a second device with otg support download bugjaeger app from playstore and use the same commands which i mention in pc method
