Where do I find apps that require root access. Do I find them on the play store or somewhere else? Thank you.
The playstore has lots of apps that require root access, with lots of different features..
You really got plenty of choice!
Root Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 Android 5.0 - Secure method
I am looking for a safe, secure, foolproof method, from reliable source, from trusted person, with safe elements .
Without data leakage, IMEI theft, backdoors, viruses, ads, system modifications etc. Clean root.
Can you recommend something?
Best KNOX flag 0x0 and With the possibility of unroot.
Something simple and fast will also be an advantage - I am an amateur.
The only reason why I want to do a root of the phone is the security of my data and my privacy. A phone without a privacy manager like App Ops seems like a very dangerous solution. Firewall will also be useful.
Sorry for my English

Search and read about "cf-auto-root"
Rooting may prevent certain banking type apps working as they see it as insecure .
Thank you very much for the help and information.
Unfortunately, "cf-auto-root" switches the KNOX flag. But it is more important that it is a secure source. Thank you very much.
I did not know about problems with banking applications. Thank you for the information.
If you have any other suggestions, let me know.
I THINK there was a way to root without tripping knox but it required having JB. Now that you are on LL I doubt you will find a way to root without tripping it. Banking apps can be fooled using xposed modules or Magisk systemless root, but again, you'd be tripping knox. If knox is so important to you, I'd stick with stock.
The most important for me is the privacy and security of my data on the phone. Without root, applications use everything they want. I would like to have the Permission Manager to control access to my data on the phone. I would also like to use a normal firewall without VPN.
So I don't want to upgrade to android 7, ever. At this point I hit "No Thanks" on the upgrade notice and then FC Motorola Update Services, but you need to do that every reboot. Kinda annoying
I want to just remove the Motorola Update Services app from my device but you need to be rooted. Is there a way to get temp su access in a terminal shell to remove the app without having to root?
If not, can someone provide a link to the guide to root Marshmellow? All I can find are a zillion guides to root Android 7, not 6
Thanks
Why won't you upgrade to 7? 6, at this point, is deprecated and insecure.
Anyways, to root MM just flash Magisk.
I wouldn't recommend staying on Marshmallow for whatever reason, but this should help you remove those apps without rooting your phone. Simple manner of how it works - it doesn't remove the app from your memory, but removes it for that particular user. Effectively, you won't save up on space, but the app will be gone.
Does anyone know if magisk is successful at hiding root for all banking apps and other apps that do not allow root?
I have many banking apps that I need access to so don't want to root and break knox if I then have to unroot as I'm unable to use my apps.
I have already rooted my phone and have custom rom it's all great but the problem I'm facing is apps of Banks and payment don't work which I really want. So now I'm going to unroot but I have saved data via backup on titanium backup so I was wondering if after unrooting I could give root Access to titanium backup only through USB.
There's an app called greenify which has an method to give root Access via USB.
Like :
Accessibility service run-on-demand:
adb -d shell pm grant com.oasisfeng.greenify android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Did you try MagiskHide / Canary builds when you were rooted (I assume rooted through Magisk) to avoid root detection by banking apps ?
