If you want high battery life and stable just use stock samsung rom.
if you want speed and moderate battery than flash RR 7.1 rom
i use RR 7.1 my setup is as follows click highlight colour for download link
first clean storage formate system, data, cache from twrp then flash RR 7.1 stable than any Gapps you like (i use ARM 7.1 nano) flash it
flash this SmartPack kernel use his apps play store go to cpu underclock to 800mhz set it on boot then go to kernel setting set Delay to 0 second or instant. this way it won't heat
If you want more battery life use these francisco-franco pro app download naptime, servicely, francisco kernel manager(don't use smart kernel manager app if you use this) in this app you can go to cpu> max cpu 800mhz than voltage control> undervolt -25mv set on boot, phone will less heat now
edit: for music crack or laggy sound, delete Audiofx from sysytem>priv-app using root explorer and use viper4android

you already tripped knox, so most samsung apps will not work, and quite a lot of apps dropped support for android 5.0 now as a reminder.

Thank you brother, in this year 2022, i will try, i love my samsung s4

You Can Use Flyme OS Port For S4, I'm Using This ROM and I Felt This is The Only ROM Which Gives a Decent Battery Life for This Galaxy S4, Other ROMs Can't Give a Battery Life like this ROM. In Terms of UI, I've Using a Third Party Launcher Called Pear Launcher but it Lags Every time when I opened the App Drawer, so I Planned To Place all my Apps on Home Screen and other Pages then I Turned of Gestures to open app Drawer. If you Turned on Add Apps to Home Screen in Playstore, You'll Get Your New Apps automatically in Home Page. In terms of Performance All Apps Works Fine but Most of The Games Won't Work. Personally I'm Not interested to Play Games In This Device so It is Not A Bigger Issue for me. Finally in Terms of Multimedia Consumption, It is Same as Stock ROM no Issues in it. If anyone has Other Suggestions, Reply Me

Well currently I'm also using stock with some mods but the main issue is battery drain so which ROM can I use to reduce battery drain..
I got an increase in battery life an amazing one that is by doing the privacy guard thingy that is mentioned in the forum. You switch off wake up autostart and keep awake in advance options in the advance tab under privacy guard which is in the privacy tab and the battery increase was insane. Search the forum for a better tutorial. It will surely help

1- Do a Dalvik cache wipe.
2- Flash a custom kernel. [I'd suggest Sandy 1.3 CPUQuiet build]
3- Keep governor at interactive>>runnable [this is the default, optimized for more battery] or interactive>>load_stats [this should improve performance at higher loads]
4- Enable MSM Thermal [this should fix the heating problem]
5- use Greenify 2.6+ with Xposed, if you're not using it already [this should help in hibernation]
6- Use Recently [this should stop the infamous memory leak Lollipop is known for]
7- Use Amplify for controlling all device wakelocks [this should help maintaining the CPU activity]
8- You can access PrivacyGuard and close the wake up and keep awake switches for all apps you think are necessary [this should reduce the CPU idle usage]
^Do all these and I don't think you need to worry about your battery at all.
Also, can you tell me which app uses most of your battery?

1- MSM Thermal is actually a kernel feature. You may use Device Control to activate it.
1- Also you can use Temperature Throttle from TricksterMod.
2- Xposed for our device is a pain in the butt.
Try to find an xposed sdk21 arm64 zip. Normal arm builds won't work because we have an arm64 CPU. The zip is unstable though. Flash it and reboot.
Then find an apk file xposed 3 alpha 3
If you can't find them I will provide the links soon.
Then use the modules you want.
3- classic. The PrivacyGuard thing should help in this.
I'm being curious, but what kind of mods have you originally applied on your phone?

Better battery saving stock OS

Hi, I personally installed oxygen and hydrogen os on my opx.. After seeing the results i hv come to a conclusion to open this thread
Personally installed and checked
OOS- 2.2.2 2.2.3 3.1.1 3.1.3
H2OS- v2(6.0.1) v1.5(5.1.1)
Among these roms, the best battery friendly rom is h2os v2.
It is stable more user friendly and the main thing it is google free..
Personally i recommend this rom for ppl who expect better battery life.
Absence of google services and other gapps reduces massive battery drain
Store:
There are other store apps like xda apps, aptoide, mobistore etc
Install those stores to update ur apps.
My best suggestion is aptoide and xda
If you have better or best rom with u, share ur thoughts
Thanks for sharing
My suggestion is to add what are
1. Your typical usage
2. Settings including whether you flashed custom kernel
3. Screen on time and total battery life with screenshots
hi
H2os is multi language ?

[GUIDE]How To Get Awesome Battery Life (6 Hrs SOT With heavy Usage)in Le 2

I am creating this guide because only pure nexus has awesome battery life among all custom ROMs but main problem is flash and camera they are almost unusable.
By awesome i mean you can expect 6 Hrs of SOT with really heavy usage (1:40 hrs of clash of clans,3 hrs of tv show watching ,1 hrs call and always on 4G) and 8 to 10 hours with medium to light usage.
This guide is based on AKT(Advanced kernel Tweaks) profiles so you need EX Kernel Manager for this to work and interactive governor
Prerequisites
1)Official Lineage 13
Download Link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j8skdknt8mwxath/lineage-13.0-20170401-nightly-s2-signed.zip?dl=0
2)Supersu plugin for Lineage 13
Download Link
https://download.lineageos.org/extras
3)AKT profiles
We only need fairparkHE for this Guide
Download Link
Link
https://devs-base.com/viewtopic.php?t=205
Once you download all these save it to internal memory of your phone.
4)AndroModX kernel
This kernel provides snappy performance than stock Lineage kernel also you can boost color if you like
Link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-2/development/andromodx-kernel-t3529576
Installing ROM
flash Lineage 13 and Gapps once its done flash super SU for lineage.
Enabling Root
Enable developer option by tapping on build no. 7 times then enable root for apps
Flashing Andromodx Kernel
Flash this kernel then install system app remover and remove kernel auditor as the may cause conflict with Ex kernel manager
Setting Up Ex kernel Manger
Then you need to download Ex Kernel Manger from playstore once you download Ex kernel manager open it and grant root permission then go browse internal memory and look for elementalX folder get into this folder and create a folder with following name gov_profiles
Then download fairparkHE from the link i have mentioned above it should be named as fairparkHE.txt rename this file and remove txt extension once you do this copy this file to gov_profiles folder you created once you complete this step open Ex Kernel Manger and go to tools>CPU Governor>Load fairparkHE then set at boot option
Note:This profile needs a Interactive governor to work also don't change any settings related to CPU
Fixing VOLTE issue in Lineage 13
Download shortcut master lite form play store click on 3 dots then search then search for data browse through the list look for phone services click on it and create favorite once its done you have open shortcut master lite click on DataRoamingReenable to get VOLTE after each reboot

Mokee ROM

Hi all,
I'm not the developper of this ROM, but as some of you are searching for something stable, good and battery and performance, I wanted to share my experience, and start a thread on Mokee ROM : https://www.mokeedev.com/
Its characteristics :
OTA updates
Security patches
It's Open Source
You can have nightly builds or releases
For our phone (a6020), it's on Nougat 7.1.2, it's pretty close to LineageOS builds, and it seems nice and stable.
No more issues will Google Apps in the latest build.
If you test it, share your experience !

Hi, @adinechin. Just to confirm this mokee ROM is nice and stable. I'm on it right now. It's being a great experience. Here's a screenshot running with Lawnchair v2 (wallpaper tweaked by me).
By the way: Can be installed Dolby or it already has some audio mode built-in? Maybe one of the Dolby Magisk modules? Which one?

Hi, a little update on this subject :
the contact sync problem is still there
I've found a way to sync contacts from time to time, without reinstalling all !
Here is what I did :
Install the ROM with an "old" version of Gapps, like the one linked below
At first init, disable Google Play (the store) to block the update of Google Play Services
When you have synced all you want, you can enable Google Play again and update your apps
When you want to sync your contacts again :
Disconnect from all data or wifi
Disable Google Play
Disable Google Play Services (it will also uninstall all updates), and enable it again - you may have a warning to define a backup account, just click on it, and select your account
You can sync your contacts again (wait for some time or reboot your phone)

Hi, little question for those using Mokee : for me the battery duration is very low, do you have advice for an adapted kernel ?

Yes, if you're in Oreo mokee, you can use dragon elite 1.4 version, wich has hotplug feature added.. It's not enabled by default, though. Enable it by using The Raging Beast KA app. KA isn't able to do it. IDK ex kernel manager.

IDK Nougat, but yes on stock LP. hotplug is the feature that automatically turns the cores on/off according to the workload of the cpu. with it, you supposedly save more battery, because an offline core doesn't drain battery.
and DE 1.4 is only for Oreo. If you want to give it a try, let me know and I'll give you a properly instructions about how to enable that hotplug feature.

Are you kidding? hotplug is the way that LP stock kernel works.
Download and open Kernel Adiutor, check CPU section, and you'll see hotplug work in all its fullness.

Ok thanks for this answer. As I'm not a "kernel guru", I was not aware of that

Best Rom for Max Pro M1

Guys please suggest me a good bugless ROM be it Oreo or Pie.
I'm in stock ROM and I want more features. My requirements are
Good battery
Good performance
Edge gestures
Good Volte
Call quality
Good speaker output
No heating while charging and using.
Liquid Remix with Darkberry Kernel...
I don't think edge gestures work in any of the pie roms
Prefer Stock
Then wait ASUS release the Pie .
Maybe a years from now. Lol
Your requirements seems to lean more on the device usage actually and those are basic features that work best on stock rom.

Hope official pie rom released soon
There is no such thing as bugless! ?
As per your requirements it's best to stay on stock, root it & play around with magisk & if that seems insufficient then install Xposed Framework.
Xposed has some modules which you can check it out if you want more features.
GravityBox is the main one of course + xposed edge gestures (mindblowing)!
Disclaimer - Xposed trips safetynet, not that i care.
Performance and battery is great for me.
So, all your stuff covered expect the last one, haven't faced that issue.
All in OREO?

If u want all those features i think stock ROM would be best for u. However, if u want android pie then go for pixel experience rom or pixys os. They are the cleanest android pie roms out there.

Good battery - Battery idle drain & performance is based on Kernel, not on a custom rom.
Good performance - Whatever rom you use, performance is same. Bcaz it depends on the Processor speed in GHz.
Edge gestures, VoLTE - These are some of the reasons you are using a custom rom.
Call Quality - It's totally based on Cellular network & it's signal strength.
Speaker Output - By default, it's based on hardware, & speaker output from max pro m1 is satisfactory. To increase volume change RX values from 84 to somewhere 89 under mixer_paths.xml
I'm thinking of trying Aex pie rom
Is it any better than liquid remix or I'll be just wasting my data?

Busybox from magisk right? D/L the module, flash from magisk and reboot.
Also xposed from magisk rep which is systemless?
You gotta make sure now that whichever xposed framework you flashed is completely uninstalled.
For actual xposed use it's uninstaller.zip or for unity flash the module again from twrp.
Take backup, etc, and flash the systemless xposed module from twrp, wipe the cache and dalvik. Reboot.
Use the installer provided by our magisk prodigy from the repo which is for systemless xposed.
SDK V27 - 90.2 beta 3 (for framework).

I've to disagree with you on many things. First of all, all ROMs don't have same in call volume. Second, speaker output can vary in ROMs, performance can also differ

Whatever bro, it's truth. If possible, try out all the roms starting from lineage os, liquid remix os, crdroid, havoc os, etc. You'll notice there's no difference except all roms use their own custom system image & system apps.

Huh??!!
We all have 2 ears, one nose, one heart, 2 kidneys and 1 d*** but I do notice a lot of difference among them.
Don't simplify something too much just because you can't comprehend it and stop professing your own version of truth, BRO! ?
I am using havic os pie with azure kernel... I get 12+ hrs of SOT easily with 4g always on. The SOT will be even better if you use wifi.
Its got a load of customisations availablei
It has edge gestures.
I play pubg on it without any noticeable lag.
I think this is a great rom.
Also i use pixys os with stock kernel before this, that was a good rom too but it lacked customisations thats why i changed to havoc.
