Google Wallpaper and stock Themes Lock Screen Interaction - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hello.
I have been attempting to use the super wallpapers ported from MIUI 12 since, as far as I know, the Note 7 does not support this feature.
I followed the instructions and downloaded the apks, installing them and then applying them through the Google Wallpapers app. While this does apply the super wallpaper to the home screen, the lock screen is left untouched, continuing to show whatever wallpaper was added using the stock Themes or Gallery apps. I did a bit of googling and tried to use an older tactic that seemed to work for some users on MIUI 11: set a video wallpaper from the stock Gallery app, and whatever live wallpaper that was added on top of it from Google Wallpapers would appear to overlay on top of the non-renderable video. This unfortunately did not work due to me having a system wallpaper installed, which appears to continue to exist under the gallery-applied wallpaper. This applies for any wallpaper added from the Themes app.
I decided to uninstall the Themes and Themes Module system apps using Termux and Debloater (Terminal Emulator) from Magisk. This seemed to leave the last-installed wallpaper from the Themes and/or Gallery app stuck on the lock screen, with no viable way to change it. After reinstalling the two system apps, the Themes app can no longer connect to servers, giving an error when trying to load wallpapers and crashing when selecting themes from My Page. I am essentially blocked from changing my lock screen wallpaper from the Themes app, and setting a wallpaper from Gallery also gives an error "cannot load wallpaper."
Aside from this, there are no other issues with my device. Any suggestions? Thank you.
My device has stable MIUI Global 12.0.1 and Orangefox Recovery.

Help! Live Wallpaper Picker cannot be launched - stock ROM

After a reboot I could no longer select any live wallpaper anymore all of a sudden. I have tried clearing cache and removing all data associated with the Live Wallpaper Picker but nothing has worked! Every time I am getting "Unfortunately the Live Wallpaper picker has stopped" when picking a previously installed live paper. This is VERY frustrating. I am running stock ROM rooted and have re-enabled all previously disabled apps and have unstalled greenify as well just in case. Have rebooted a few times and has not worked.
What I could remember doing was trying to clear all icons from the stock Touchwiz launcher as I am trialling other launchers. Would I have accidentally deleted some vital shortcuts? Removing the shortcuts does not remove the apps themselves, however.
I'm at a lost at what to do and really would prefer having to do a hard reset if possible. It has taken me 2 weeks to set up my Note 3 almost perfectly .....
UPDATE: I just found that I could still load Live Wallpapers IF I return back to touchwiz and set wallpaper via the menu (left) button. However I am still unable to set Live Wallpapers normally via the settings menu - the picker always crashes....
Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

you could try this go to google play download any live wallpaper ,when downloaded press open and see what happens
tried already. The wallpaper picker will crash just like before. The only way is to get back to Touchwiz interface and use the menu button to set wallpaper. That way I can still select the custom wallpaper. This only occurred AFTER I went to Touchwiz and cleared up all the useless icons from the apps....I must have stuffed up something in TW...

I am too scared to replace the stock apk if its still working via touchwiz. At least it still works. I have probably broken something when i deleted off all the shortcuts in the TW desktop.

This happened to me when I had too many live wallpapers installed, it couldn't load the list. (about 30). Don't suppose that could be it?

Did you ever get a solution to the live wallpaper crashing problem? I have the same exact problem.

I get this as well, in Nova, LWP crashes. If I load Touchwiz Home, it works fine. Kind of irritating to swap launchers just to change the LWP settings.

Thanks for posting this, hadn't thought to try setting the live wallpaper from tw home. I had touchwiz home frozen with TB. Unfroze it, set the live wallpaper from tw home, and live wallpaper is back in Nova. It wasn't enough to merely unfreeze tw home, I had to set the live wallpaper from there too.

I have touchwiz running, simple and easy and I swapped between them, but the live wallpaper still crashes. Even after putting the .apk in the system/app folder and changing the permissions, etc. I'm running Sacs rom on an S4.
Unfortunately Live Wallpaper Picker has stopped - Fix
1. Backup and Uninstall the system
[Live Wallaper Picker]
{livewallpaperspicker.apk}
ONLY (NOT livewallpapers.apk) with [Lucky Patcher](you need to enable system files in Lucky Patcher) or some other App like that (you don't need to uninstall any already installed live wallpapers).
2. Download many livewallpaperspicker.apk you can find all over the internet for different Android versions(doesn't matter even if the version is not specified, download anything you can). (btw, I am using a LiveWallpapersPicker.apk by cycloneblast which I found in another thread. I've no idea what version it targets)
3. Install the livewallpaperspicker.apk for the Android version you are running.
4. If it still says unfortunately live wallpaper picker... then Install other versions and test them(you don't need to restart your device).
5. If still not working, then remove odex file of the Live Wallpaper Picker with Lucky Patcher and then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. If STILL not working then remove corpses with [SD Maid](you need to enable system files in it's settings first which is usually turned off when you install it). WARNING: Use at your own RISK.
Hi. I have outlined the fix for this in my video on youtube here: youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=7DlTBr8r2Ws

Question about the Nougat update.

Hello everyone. I seem to have a bit of a problem regarding live wallpapers with the new 7.0 Nougat update. I am currently using the Galaxy Pack app from Play Store as my live wallpaper and I was using it on both my home screen and lock screen. Now here's the problem, after the update I tested out some stuff (including changing the wallpapers) and now I cannot put the live wallpaper back on the lock screen. On the home screen it works fine. When I try to select a static picture as my wallpaper, after I select it, it asks me (Do you want this on your home screen, lock screen, or both?), but when I select the Galaxy Pack wallpaper it just sends me on the app's menu where I click set wallpaper and only the home screen one applies. I have tried different launchers including Nova launcher (The one I currently use) and Google Now Launcher, but nothing lets me put the Galaxy Pack LW as a lock screen wallpaper. Please help.
Also on a side note, does anyone know how to set the settings, quick settings tab, etc. on dark(black) theme? I hate all the white of it. Is it possible to do this at all? (without rooting)
Just downloaded planety of live wallpapers. None of them is working on the lockscreen, nothing really can be done here. But changing theme to any other colour is simple, just open the Samsung themes app and set the dark one.

All right. Thank you for responding. I hope they fix the live wallpaper problem soon. And many thanks for the dark theme. Cheers.

Live Wallpaper Stopped Working

Suddenly Live wallpaper says that it is not installed. I have tried a soft reboot, safe mode, changing launchers, installing Google Wallpapers, stop process within Live Wallpaper. Nothing has worked which sucks for me because I use Nova launcher and KLWP with a live wallpaper I designed but no longer can use. Unrooted stock Note 4. Anyone please?

[MIUI] Remove Theme manager from lock screen

I got this device for my parents. So I'm not going through trouble of rooting and flashing custom roms.
So I thought to debloat all the miui stuff.
By far I've pretty much been successful, disabling apps through adb.
What I can't get around is the fact that there is a custom mechanism through which lock screen is being shown. This app called Theme manager (com.android.thememanager) is enabling something called wallpaper crousel.
Now I've disabled both, but doing so sets a default static wallpaper. I want it to be same as home screen (rotating Goohle wallpapers). But there seems no way to do it.
Any help would be appreciated, just want to get to stock lock screen or at least set same home screen / lock screen wallpapers.
I have a rick that worked. go themes than go to live wallpapers set any one live wallpaper from the themes app on both homescreen and lockscreen now go to google wallpaper app and set a wallpaper on homescreen and lockscreen this will work on recent miui 10 roms.

Sideloaded icons missing on 4k Max

Has anyone else noticed that the icons for any side-loaded apps on the new 4k max are display as a generic dark-colored icon and not the app's proper icon?
True, but not for all application. Some apps has icons, but display a simple icons. Like e.g. the droid robot, or other simple icons. But some apps icons OK, like AFRd.
This is a problem with FireOS7 not looking for icons in the standard folder that most nonFireOS apps use.
This is an explanation and way to fix. But you will have to redo this everytime you update the app. A bit of a hassle. You can use a costum launcher that hides the problem.
How to Fix Missing or Broken Icons for Sideloaded Apps on Amazon Fire TV
There appears to be a bug on select Amazon Fire TV devices that prevents the icon of some sideloaded apps to display correctly on the Home screen and Apps screen. Instead of the app icon appearing, a gray icon with a slash through it appears.

Does anyone know if using a different launcher, like Wolf launcher, will have all the proper icons displayed w/o having to modify each APK?

Yes Wolf Launcher (ATV Launcher), leanback, etc show the icons of sideloaded apps properly.
The custom launchers were created with Android in mind, and look for the icons in the standard folders.
The broken icons is just a quirk of how Amazon decided to build the FireLauncher for FireOS7.
Make sure to check the news about the newest FireOS update disabling custom launcher use. You'll need to disable updates if you want to use them.
