Games Crashing on Root! Unroot my S8+ G955FD - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Ever since I rooted my S8+ (G955FD) I'm facing issues with games like Pubg, FreeFire, COD crashes to home screen without any error or warning message. Free Fire crashes are not that frequent as compared to Pubg or COD where I can't even finish a game. Crashes are random mostly at gameplay and sometimes right from game menu to home screen crash.
Tried many solutions clearing app data and cache, uninstall and reinstalling, wipe cache partition. I have about 45% free space so no space issue.
As a last resort I'm going to unroot my phone.
I have Rooted my phone using Magisk.
Could you guys please point me to the latest official stock firmware and stock recovery for the device.
Is this right for me:
Download Galaxy S8+ SM-G955FD (PAK) G955FXXSBDTJ1 in Samfw - Samsung firmware download
Galaxy S8+ SM-G955FD (PAK - Pakistan) G955FXXSBDTJ1 Pie(Android 9) samsung firmware download all model, lastest, fast update, completely free and fast speed in Samfw.com ✅
samfw.com
Smart switch shows an update too. Will this help if I update it using Smart Switch? Will this remove the root and TWRP?

Hello, it actually doesn't seem your phone is the issue. Nor would root be, but have you tried magisk hide on Google play store, google play services / ar services, and cod?
I didn't have root, cod would crash mid game, at launch or in the menu. I rooted and all, still crashes. I googled:"COD Mobile crashing on galaxy" and people have the problem with an s8, and a note. Its not you, it might just be cod, it gets my phone hot, maybe it overheats too fast. I'd check your logcat when it crashes. Download the logcat from play store to track it.

Well, it's not just COD. Same problem with PUBG and Garena Free Fire (although here it isn't that frequent).
Nevertheless, I had gone stock and it didn't helped. I'm still having same issue.

Yes pubg did it to me also. And as for upgrading it's always worth a try. You must do it this way if you are rooted to prevent boot loop. ota updates are a no no on root
[GUIDE] Easy way to update a rooted phone without losing data using FlashFire
Hello! A lot of us have already rooted our phone however when it comes to then updating firmware it can be a pain where you have to re-root your device and maybe lose your settings and data. However, I found a way through Chainfire’s brilliant...
forum.xda-developers.com

@tahirk also please look at the results here from others with the same phone and same issue recently. Maybe someone found a solution there.
Give it a look- https://www.google.com/search?clien...GYAQCgAQHIAQjAAQE&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp

Had the same issue -> COD randomly crashing
conf :
- havoc 3.12
- RZ Kernel 20200822
- Magisk 21.4
- Magisk hide 5.4
- COD Mobile 1.0.19
Solution :
1) Close COD & clear COD's cache
2) Close & clear Google play's cache
3) Magisk hide -> check COD & Google play & maybe Google play services (was already checked for Google pay)
Now I'm playing without issues.
Maybe u still have the issue on stock because your knox is tripped :
I tried with a work profil :
- OneUI rom Horizon 4.9 -> Device policy verification KO
- Stock samsung with tripped knox 0x1 -> Device policy verification KO
- AOSP rom Havoc 3.12 -> Device policy verification OK

Google chrome forced update w/o permission

I am on a rooted galaxy tab 4, t330, wifi only model running android 4.4.2 stock rom. I had this a while now and just the other day chrome has been updating all on its own despite my every attempt to stop this. I have done the following.
Ensured that any option to auto update was de-selected.
Cleared data and cache of all google related app. (i.e. play store, download manager ect.)
Used titanium backup to restore back to previous version and detached from play store.
None of this has helped and I am forced to keep getting an update I don't want. Seems almost like a virus as it does this in the background without any input or warning. Also when I do catch it updating and click on it it will not let me cancel the download from play store.
Anyways. Now I'm here. Asking for help to stop this. Is there a file that can be modified or folder that can be deleted. Any input is greatly appreciated!
Flash a cyanogenmod rom without flashing Gapps. Why are you so adamant chrome not update itself??

(SM-G903F S5 Neo) Some general questions after upgrading from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1

Hi,
I had some problems with my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, then finally there was Marshmallow 6.0.1 released and since then it's really running smoother (because a lot of people had problems with APA2 Lollipop Version). Now its base band G903FXXU1BPD3 and I also recognized much better battery life (no more high "android system" battery use).
On Lollipop i rooted my device with cf-autoroot and installed team win recovery to backup the system.. got it to work after a while. KNOX is 0x1 but no problem and OTA update was not working but i'm glad i could update to MM with SmartSwith PC Software.
I'm also waiting for Chainfires g903F -6.0.1- root file then I try again.. need it mainly for Apps2SD app to link big data to my 128gb sandisk microsd. By the way, is it o.k. to first install TWRP again to backup the system data, and after that root and TWRP will stay?
Now the remaining problems:
- Device Lag on Lollipop (had to reboot every morning to clear RAM): hope its better with 6.0.1 now.
- Sound issues: 1-2 apps stutter when bluetooth headset or bluetooth sound box is connected; without bluetooth it's working fine. Already tried to clear data/cache for system sound apps like AdaptSound, SoundAlive and also BluetoothService etc. ... by the way my stock music app is lost, can i reinstall it after rooting again with a .apk file ?
- I have CM Locker installed and now, on MM, I don't know which app data/cache i have to clear to reset the standard lockscreen which always starts after reboot (swipe) shortly before CM locker shows up.
- Is it safe to clear data of Google App or will my connected accounts, apps etc. be removed ?
I don't want a factory reset because i've got too much apps to configure again, maybe clearing dalvik-cache on MM after rooting will solve some things...
Thanks for answers..
You can already root your phone you must flash the cf auto root for g-903m. It also works for 903f. Look at the g-903f marshmallow theard. And after you flash cf auto root you have to flash twrp again because cf auto root deletes twrp

Google play services isn't compatible with your device?

Hi,
I have Note 3 SM-N9005 International Qualcomm.
Long ago my phone has updated to Android Lolipop 5.0 (from KitKat 4.4) - OTA update with stock
Used my phone for year and a half, and few weeks ago phone gets lag from time to time.
I decide to go to FACTORY RESET (firstly try backup and reset). All go well. Phone goes like new. No lag. Good performance
BUT: one thing, one little error broke my all google apps
When android goes to automatically update google apps like GMAIL, Google Now(google), hangouts, maps and many others, system says that first have to update google play services and then this ERROR :
Google play services isn't compatible with your device
I try to reset phone without backup. Same thing
Then I go very angry and decide to read more about custom ROMS and how they install
I installed TWRP 2.8.4 first. Then I download AryaMod V8.3 TW Lollipop Official BOJ6 and follow all steps to intallation (A) : Coming from any official TW 5.0
All installation goes well and the ROM work perfect.
There is no hangouts app(I know that is old and bla bla), gmail work properly, but google(now) and other software (like STRAVA) wants to update and still wants google play services to update first. AND SAME ERROR :
Google play services isn't compatible with your device
Tried to go application manager> google play store> uninstall updates
application manager>google play services> clear cache
remove google account and re-login
same error !!!
PLEASE HELP
and sorry for my ENGLISH
Download Google play services APK from apkmirror and install through it, same happened to me yesterday and it worked like a charm.

Hi !
I have the same problem as OP. I was on AryMod MM 6.0 v6 but GPS was a little problematic so I decided to go back to a stock rom. After a successful restore I couldn't access my google apps after update. I tried another stock firmware but got the same results. Older apks with .438 install correctly but the problem persists. I tried installing the latest apk from apkmirror but I get an error.
There are 27 variants of app on apkmirror, which one to download for n9005?

Galaxy S5, rooted has several issues now:

So my S5 (verizon) is rooted, running the deodexed stock BOK3 ROM with xposed installed but otherwise not much added is having a few issues.
1. Everytime I reboot, I get "Google Play Services has stopped" pop ups excessively. And error codes that "Maps won't run unless Play Services is updated" . Even when updated, if I immediately reboot, I get the same errors. This happens on every reboot.
2. WiFi does not seem to allow data transmission. It says it's connected to the network, but there is no internet activity. This is relatively new.
3 . Snapchat won't log on. Neither with mobile data nor Wifi (which doesn't seem to work).
Any suggestions on what is up with this?
Can I just back up all the systen/data in SS, then factory reset and re-install the ROM from the SD card?
getting the same problem with the Google Play Store not working, android.process.media keeps crashing as well.
The S5 looks to be coming to an end. Loved this phone, but I think I'm going to upgrade to the S8 and switch to the new unlimited plan--now allows hotspot. I get to use the faster LTE Advanced and won't have to go the rooted route.
Hi, I'm new here so be patient please. I have heard nothing but good things about XDA Developers website. May I test this "theory"? My question is I rooted my s5 a few months ago, but when I unrooted root checker said "not rooted" but some apps still think I'm rooted. ?? Help.

S6 SM-G920P BoostMobile G920PVPU3BOL1 5.1.1 STOCK Root XposedFW Viper4A 2020

Stock out of box Samsung Galaxy S6 From Boost Mobile.
Disclaimer >>>Might Work With the Sprint S6, since Boost is just the prepay of Sprint, the same phone I think...
First to say this is a rare find (2015 Release) but if you can get your hands on this awesome handset it has, 8Cores, 32Gb of Memory, 16mp.Cam, and as far as i know the Last Samsung Galaxy With the iR Blaster. So I take No-Responsibility to any Malfunctions or Broken Devices. Personally Had Little to Zero Problems Achieving this I would say This is the Best, Most stable Rooted Device i'v ever owned.
Im Posting here expecting that everyone knows what ROOT, TWRP, CWM, SuperSU is, Developer Mode/How to activate, how to reboot to recovery/Download Mode, Flash via Odin, and use TWRP.
I'll try to put this whole thing in chronological order. so out of box... or anyone who can restore their device back to this build BOL1It Works Flawlessly, Very-Fast/ResponsiveSystem Wide Equalizer>V4A-starts on boot, Xposed FW, Xprivacy, Lightning Wall, and The Google PlayStore still works.
Take Phone out of box [UNACTIVATED/NOSIM/AIRPLANE] LoL... Turn on at home alone... DO NOT CONNECT TO WiFi/DATA it will force update BOL1. Dont sign in google Acc. or Samsung Acc. SET UP http://wakasoftware.com/app-freezer-setup/ Once Completed With Freezer App Set up Reboot and Freeze The following Apk.'s
Search (Update) in Freezer app. You should find [com.sec.android.fotaclient, com.wssyncmldm, com.sec.fwservice, com.sprint.ce.updater, and [NOT100%ON com.policydm] Disable them. Next search sprint in Freezer; Disable every apk. listed under sprint search [com.sprint.zone, com.sprint.psdg.sw, com.samsung.sprint.chameleon, com.sprint.w.installer, com.sprint.ce.updater, com.sprint.w.prefact, com.sprint.dsa, com.samsung.sprint.setupwizard, and com.sprint.voicemail]
You can probably leave voicemail enabled boost has theirs installed anyways. Not sure if sprint-Vmail works or not. Go ahead and freeze any bloat ware or apps you don't want. Disable at own risk. If something messes anything up, reboot to recovery, factory reset, then start over lol
THIS WILL TRIP KNOX
Alright now go developer options and turn on OEM unlocking (allow the Bootloader to be unlocked) Now im going to thank (spammy l) XDA Member for this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...ainfire-autoroot-stock-custom-kernel-t3294308
Follow That Root Method-Just USE THE LATEST SuperSU & TWRP instead. Im on [SU 2.82-SR3] & [twrp-3.3.1-0-zerofltespr] Once obtained Root, an have installed TWRP&BUSYBOX; Create a Custom Recovery backup-TWRP BEFORE you go on to install XposedFW.
You can connect to WiFi/Data, set up google, samsung accounts, and activate wireless services/put SiM Card Back/Disable-airplane-mode now that you have the sprint apps disabled. WARNING if you root this without sprint apps disabled sprint will detect root on the phone and try to force update and continuously restart the phone only 10seconds or so after bootup. I did not know this when i first activated my services. Even after i turned off wifi and pulled the sim card out it was still rebooting only 10seconds after bootup. Giving me only moments to navigate to freezer app and search ''sprint'' and freeze freeze freezze.... so thats why we freeze them first. Also by disabling the sprint Apk. s it Removed the Boost Mobile Boot Animation not sure which one but just FYI just see stock samsung boot.img cool still.
Next have to Thank (wanam Contributor/Developer) For Their Forum( https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960 ) on how to install XposedFW For [5.1/6.0]Lollipop/Marshmallow. Follow That to get Xposed Installed properly. Once flashed it dose take a few minuets to startup, it will boot cycle a couple times, be patient.
Last but my personal favorite piece of software to place in to the system, ViPER4Android-FX 2.5.0.5
My last shout-out goes to (kevintm78 Senior Member) for his method on installing V4A The Proper Way. Here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/themes-apps/how-to-viper4android-install-proper-t3691597) after all that you should make a new custom recovery point to save your work. Thanks to all just wanted to put all that into one place for this specific build of phone.
