Hi All,
O2 XDA Exec with SE HBH-300
I have done the registry tweak so MS Voice Command works when you press the button on my BT headset.
It's so I can keep the Exec safe in my bag and use Voice Command to dial.
Works fine when lid is open and when the screen is in PDA mode even works when in sleep mode, but when the lid is closed the Voice Command melody bleeps but it does nothing.
So the workaound is put the Exec screen into PDA mode before putting in the bag.
Another bug after using Voice Command (lid open or PDA mode) you have to press the button on the BT headset to end the BT connection,
Only a potential problem for non phone call use as if you are using the phone it's not a problem as when you press the button to end the call it closes the current BT connection as you would expect.
And finallly any fix for trigging Voice Command when using the button on the corded handsfree ?
Thanks,
Jonathan.
Sorry to sound stupid but..
What is PDA mode? I either turn it off with the off button, or just close the lid down? not sure which is which.
Also, don't you find voice command fills it with Bugs? I generally found it a pain in the ass and had to unistall. (killed Skype for instance)
PDA mode is when you have swiveled the screen so when the lid is closed the screen is facing out in like a tradditional Pocket PC PDA.
Has anyone any idea on how I can adjust the time required to hold the headset connect button in order to activate the voice command? Currently I need to hold this for far to long in order to activate it.
Maybe there's something in the manual, but I can't even anwer calls with that button. I think it's supposed to be short press to answer calls, and long press for voice command. Still not figured it out.
That's odd, I press the button for a brief moment , and voice-command is activated.....BT headset btw, but it works like a charm...
The handsfree wired headset that came with the Dopod is the one that takes quite a few seconds of holding to respond. I imagine that a bluetooth headset would work differentially as the time is probably controlled by the device itself rather than the HTC 3600.
Hi everyone,
I am trying to set my mobile to work with voice commands on my motorbike. The stumbling block so far is finding an application where I can “initiate” the command listening with another voice command. All the voice command apps I’ve looked at require that you press a button on the headset or on the phone before saying your command.
The problem is that I can’t press a button on the motorbike, and besides, the Bluetooth box is under the seat. What I’d like is some application that is always listening, and with which you could perhaps initiate the command by saying something like “voice command” out loud before issuing your command.
Is there an app that can do that, or perhaps a workaround of some sort?
Thanks
Anyone?
Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue. Whenever I have my Voyage Edge connected to my phone, if I go to enter text on a page using Google Voice Typing the microphone appears but then just hangs. If I disconnect the headset and press the mic on the keyboard again, the icon appears and starts taking my voice input.
Any ideas?
Note: This is on 4.4.2 (stock rooted)
Same thing here but I thought my trigger was that it was in my car dock (but to be fair, putting mine in the dock activates and connects my bluetooth).
Sometimes the first voice input (can be dialer, search, google now etc) will work, then any other attempt just hangs. Undocking allows me to do it but kind of defeats the point.
Hopefully someone can fix this one. I hate when updates take conveniences away (like the audio through usb dock cable issue that seemed to last forever).
Hello folks,
I've been a pretty happy owner of the 306SH for about 3 months. Of course, I'm very excited by the push for root on this device. Big "thank you" to all those working hard towards the cause from someone who both lacks and envies your skills.
I have an issue that I haven't seen brought up in this forum. I cannot seem to launch Voice Search (or Google Now) by long pressing the bluetooth headset button. Voice Search is launched properly through a wired headset, though.
What I've tried so far:
I thought that maybe some other app was saved as the default app, so I went through every app in Settings and tapped the "Clear defaults" button for every app possible. That didn't help.
I've also tried 2 different bluetooth headsets with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and they both launch Voice Search successfully when long pressing the button. The same 2 headsets will not launch Voice Search (or any other app) on the Sharp Aquos Crystal. Both headset work fine with the phone or listening to music. Even a single press will play/pause music or answer/end a call.
I tried both the headsets on my daily driver Sharp Aquos Crystal with update S4081 and I've tried both headsets with a fresh from the box Sharp Aqous Crystal with update SA300. The fresh not updated phone exhibits the same behavior as my daily driver in the previous paragraph.
Has anyone had success launching Voice Search by long pressing the bluetooth headset button? If anyone has advice, I would be grateful. Thanks for reading!
