Appy geek reporting Motorola pushing out kit kat 4.4.2 Today For Moto G nothing so far on my 8GB simfree UK t-mob
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
Now itâs important to note that while the update is for both the global and US GSM variants of the Moto G, the rollout is more than likely to occur in various stages. In other words, it could take some time before it reaches all Moto G owners.

Firstly US, people who ordered from motorola.com
Only for phones in the US so far, there's no indication when the rest of the world will follow. All they say is 'soon'. But who knows how long that is...

For those with 4.4.2 update, is the ART option available? If so, how does it compare to dalvik?

as far as i know, motorola in my country announced that our operators already have the new android version for our device, but they have to wait (until something happens, don't remember what, but they didn't mention a specific date) for the release

Patience, guys. The rollout is happening in phases, and for now only 1% of two specific sales channels get the update. They are the guinea pigs, so to speak. Once everything is fine, the update will be approved for more users.

That article is talking about the Google OTA process, there's no way of telling if motorola uses something similar. But posting "I haven't got the ota" doesn't help much either, I guess. So yes. Patience.
ps: i don't have it yet either

I need flash to work with firefox so will not be applying this update when it arrives.
If Dolphin browser had the ability to block apps then I wouldn't have a problem updating to 4.4.2 as I know you can get flash to work with Dolphin, so it's 4.3 for me.

I am starting this thread for the G920I model of the S6. Codenamed "Zerofltedv".
Where is G920I Available?
- Singapore
- India
- Australia
- USA
- Latin American countries
- North America
The S6 comes with regional locks for particular countries, And need to be activated with a sim specific for that region.
What is this thread about?
- For discussion.
- Online and local availability.
- Isssue discussion.
- Custom ROM development specific for this variant.
- Pricing
- Accessories
Curious to see which country with the G920I model gets updates first so I can flash that region's firmware in Odin. Australia will obviously be last as usual so I'm keen to get off this firmware ASAP and get onto one that doesn't block auto-rotate in the Gallery app

Interesting, are you on Indian firmware?
And regarding the auto rotate, it's been an issue on Samsung phones in Australia for years due to some lawsuit with Apple.

Can you advise your software details as the Australian variant hasn't had an update and I'd be interested to see the difference in software.

No details on the changes, but it looks like Indian firmware has a build date of 31 March while everyone else is still the 7th of March.

They have'nt specified anything specific to be non functional, so it will work on all 4G networks.

Yes, I am on the Indian firmware, which came right out of the box, got a small update yesterday thou. If our models are G920I then we should be able to flash any firmware for the same. My question is what is up with the regional locks? will that be a problem?
IS anyone here having the flash always on problem? mine is very dimly lit if you see it in the dark. very very dim, I have to try hard to observe it. Is it a major issue? are your devices doing the same?
am on a singapore version and i dont have the flash always on problem. battery life sucks though, coming from a OPO.

It's because of the crappy samsung apps running in the background .. Knox and ****. My flash is not that lit that it is noticeable... I have to look really hard. Very hard to see.. But it is glowing.. The technology must be this way I think

Apparently it is not a normal feature and samsung has been made aware of this issue and they are working on it. Saw this today on the xda channel.
Whew, just got this today.
Are there any custom ROMs for the S6 that are in development?

Nothing yet. Just the root. No roms.. Should take a month plus for proper custom rom support.

How did that happen! That is very sad to hear.. I haven't rooted my device will root when custom roms are available.
So Huawei devices have been having a lot of problems with Android Auto, the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro inclusive. They cannot connect and leave the screen in the car black after a connection attempt has been made.
Huawei is working on this and it should be fixed in OTAs, which some users of other devices reported to be the case for them.
Since I'm stuck on the European version C432, I haven't gotten any OTAs since B156. Is anybody on newer firmwares able to test if the problem has been solved for them?

Yeah, it's great news. Doesn't seem to work for the Mate 9 Pro yet, since it doesn't have a SD card. But there must be a way around this.
Hope updating to newer firmware will fix the problems with Android Auto, since this is my biggest concern with this phone.
Thanks for the answers

Really? Damn.. there doesn't seem to be any consistency to this.. what model do you have?
Which version of Android Auto are you using?
No problems whatsoever for me either. Mine works perfectly.
However, when I had my Note 4 I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to work. It took weeks of investigation and trial and error. It's simply a very inconsistent app. And from my experience, type of car and google services version play as much of a role as your phone's firmware does. Visit any other phone sub forum if you need proof of that. It gives problems on all phones.
Actually, once AA refused to connect. Only way to fix it was to redownload and reinstall Android Auto. Make sure you're on the latest version too.
It didn't leave the screen black though, just refused to connect.
Latest is 2.2.710804, and you should probably get the arm64 version.
I had to get it from apkmirror as it's not released in Sweden yet.
I guess it's worth a shot to reinstall/update.

Oh.. then it doesn't make sense.. might still be the case, as I have the Mate 9 Pro.
Any change? Just got a vw golf with android auto and am mega frustrated. Black screen because the phone keeps switching from USB data using mtp to USB charge only.
Mate 9 with uk firmware
EMUI 5.0.1

Check for updates says there isn't one.
You can and are supposed to use charge only for Android Auto, not mtp.

Wow, although not uncommon, that puts us at like #8 in OTA's/Updates, with 1 being more significant, prior to this one). Checking out the goods now, always pleased to see them improving the camera function, which is the feature that snagged-me years ago!!
Many thanks again, for sharing our good news!

Did this a few days ago and got One UI 3.1 right away. I had been having the same error for the last 2 weeks when checking for updates. I'm guessing that they just blocked updates for certain device variants so that they can roll out 3.1 slowly, but the update is on their server just waiting for us guys and it can be claimed early by using Smart Switch on PC.
