I'm trying to unlock the bootloader (fastboot oem unlock) but I can't get any data connection over usb-c on my TB-X704F (Tab4 10 plus).
It seems to be charging when connected but no data.
I've tried:
usb debugging (enabled & disabled)
multiple cables that work with a usb-c phone just fine
Factory reset
Won't connect in any mode: normal boot, adb, or bootloader/fastboot mode
I'm assuming faulty usb-c port, but is there anything else I can try?
Thanks!

I am able to get into bootloader. however, the problem is that whenever the USB cable is plugged in, the buttons don't navigate through the options. whenever the USB cable is NOT plugged in (and reboot bootloader) the button work just fine.
I don't have a recovery currently installed.
the issue is not with drivers on the computer or the usb cable...
happens while USB plugged in windows, linux or simply just plugged into a wall outlet to charge.
I need to get into fastboot but i'm having this issue with the bootloader (corrupted?).
any help would be appreciated.
bootloader version 3.34
nexus 7 (grouper)
It should work with the original cable, but other cables may or may not work. If you are using the original, try a different usb cable. Also, try other usb ports or another computer.
I updated my Nexus Player to MMB29U and rooted it using NRT 2.1.4. Now the USB port of the Nexus Player does not work after a full boot into Android. The only way that I can get the USB port to be recognized is by booting the NP into bootloader mode. In bootloader mode my Windows computer Device Manager recognizes the NP as an Android Device->Android Bootloader Interface. From this mode I have re-flashed MMB29U and I have also gone back to MMB29T and rebooted the NP, but once Android boots the USB port does not work. Before the update when I connected my USB Hub to the NP after it booted, the LED of the USB Hub would come on... now it doesn't. I suspect there's an issue with the NP USB driver not loading correctly. I have flashed in full wipe mode and have factory reset the NP several times. Any idea as to what might be causing this issue?
Fix it by going back to the factory installed image Android 5.0 LRX21V (full wipe) and then flashing 6.0.1 MMB229U (full wipe) and rooting. The issue with the USB hub might have been caused by flaky USB OTG cables. I have 3 OTG cables and only one of them works consistently with the NP.
My issue is that there doesn't seem to be any data over USB. So I can charge my phone, but i cannot access it via adb or fastboot.
I tried to factory reset the phone, various cables and computers, but no luck. I do have adb over WiFi.
So my question would be, is this a faulty pin on the USB connection (the USB port is broken) or is this some sort of kinky software thing?
I'm using the TWRP 3.0.0-1 recovery, and running a stock Google ROM build MHC19I.
Hey guys i'm trying to unlock bootloader and flash the latest version but my devices is not recognised in fastboot. I do have the Android Bootloader Interface show up in drivers but when I use the command /adb devices, nothing show up in the list. In fastboot I have "Connect USB Data Cable" text but no matter how many times I had it replug or switch USB, the same error. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the cable because I can use it in normal mode.
