That has not been fixed yet
Thank you very much for your great work, I will look forward to the fix of the brightness when using the footprint.
A suggestion
1- they can put the option to hide the notch drop,
2- double tap to lock screen please
i think my storage is encrypted? i cant copy things onto the phone
Thank you @AndroidHQ254. I installed the rom and it runs very smooth. FOD and face unlock works quite well.
I use NikGapps macro from 12/14/20 and it runs very well.
A part of my storage is still encripted, but no idea how to fix. Maybe someone can share his experience.

See added screenshots.
1. error message if you wipe dalvik cache.
2. if you install from twrp recovery from internal storage
3. system is not encrypted only internal storage (sdcard)
My system run very well every think works and I followed your Flashing Instructions .
Maybe it make sense to use the no-vertiy-opt-encrypt script if you install the rom first time?
Works great! Only some issues / wishes:
Sometimes the screen wont wake (if i get a phone call, or unlock with FOD, the screen can sometimes stay all black with no other possibilty than to reboot trough the power menu.
No Home controls on power menu
SELinux is set to permissive. Im using SELinuxModeChanger to automatically set it to enforced every boot so i can use Google Pay.
FOD icon stays on top of first pin lock input on boot.
To flash and root i had to use different recoveries. PBRP for the rom, then TWRP for Magisk.
Other than what is mentioned above, everything seems to work great!

Very interested in this rom. Used a nexus 6p for 2 or 3 years and the last rom I used for it was crdroid rom. It was excellent for that device, but the device showed its age and I had to replace it. I quite like this device and I'm willing to depart from the stock rom. But I'm going to wait for a while until all the bugs are fixed as I use it for work too, so I need it to be stable as possible.
I used that rom the last 4 weeks without any problem. FOD and face unlock works quite well. Any update planned to CrDroid 7.2?
@AndroidHQ254 What is the status of this rom, have there been any updates? Unfortunately, there is no official support for this phone on crdriod site. I'm not sure where to track any progress if there is one.

About missing features - That is a rom side thing
Selinux - For now we are permissive
About FOD - I have not encountered that. Plus I do not think you keep rebooting your phone

Thanks for it
recovery update
The exploit have two parts
One part change recovery and root and the other bootloader
I manage to extract a modded recovery but i can not change bootloader
Now you do not pwn at every boot
So new recovery defeat sod only if reboot from rom the reason is how bootloader read partition
But if reboot the 3G does not work
So if using 3G must use wakelock and boot normal
and when using wifi to reboot from rom and deactivate wakelock
I have update link download everything from begin
The new recovery is bigger so has to nvflash again with new partition
Sorry guys my mistake
I forgot to t paste new rom to the link
Download rom
Just update if you has nv flash new recovery
One mind burned .....long time ago
And post do not send message so everybody know the result
I have test many times before post and just forgot to update link with correct rom
Sorry

I have a neura. I get SODs on both, and doesn't matter if auto-sleep or I push the button.
I didn't got any for a almost a week at first. I'm thinking this is coupled with something eating away the CPU cause the tablet becomes kinda hot on the backside.
Thanks for your answer and work!

No go. I intend to start over from nvflash and not install any app for at least 2 days, just to see if it appears agean and if any app is causing this.
Scratch that.
I no longer have SODs. But, being the impatient guy I am I did multiple things:
1. Wiped everything and started over
2. Updated gapps
3. Power up + 1 reboot afterwards.
I have a full day without any SOD, so I'm a happy camper now
Thanks geowolf!

Yeah I noticed, but so far only Chrome has acted up. I'm not too bothered as I mostly read and rarely write.
But, if you have the said apk or can point me at one, I'd be grateful. Thanks again.
Edit: Installed Hacker's Keyboard, will see if this works and report back.
Edit2: Hacker's keyboard is solid as a rock.
Ok, so I have no more SODs, everything is working great.
What I don't understand is how do I switch the UI between tablet/phablet as per descriptions.
Is it just the position of the status bar top/bottom? Or are there more differences?

Tablet has nav keys left corner and one compact notification panel fully customize and always visible to the right corner
This ROM has fullscreen mode if you want to hide it
Phablet has dual notification panel without Nav keys and different settings each other
Go settings/system/status bar/tablet tweaks/tablet statusbar
User interface is how view settings panel
Go settings/system/ user interface and choose your customization
@shiftear can you please tell me exactly the steps that you followed in order to get rid of SOD?

Either way thank you for your effort.

Deleted some apps and changed structure on screen. Updated most apps to actual version.
- Fingerprint sensor does not work (back to previous screen)
- Developer options does not work (I cannot enter to enable USB debugging or allow unknown applications)
- Advanced settings does not work either (I cannot allow connection to Hisuite for restore / backup)
- PIN for unlock screen not work, forced close settings. A security bug or error?
- Bluetooth not work
- Impossible to uninstall anything, crash and soft reboot
Solved (parcially)
An error during installation not installing /cust and other things.
Only bluetooth, NFC and notepad, calculator and other apps installation errors persists.
@NandoHerrera tell me what you did before flashing. Maybe i can Change the script in Next build.
Hi, i wan't to go back to stock rom. But if i try to install via sdcard, i get the error, that the firmware is up to date and it don't want to install. I think the problem is the build-number. How can i fix this problem?

Thanks again. I was playing around with eRecovery before this and but I never got it to work. It will connect to the house wifi but never did managed to download or restore. Using mobile data is the same. Nothing gets done.
Btw, with P9 Plus VIE-L29, when we use update.app, do we put the dload folder on the external sd card or on the phone's internal memory???
Currently everything works great. Definitely increased in sound volume. With the original rom, i always have the volume at 80-90%. With your rom, I have to set it to 40-50% or else it is too loud for my environment. Loving it so far...

eRecovery is working on European brands only with changing DNS in Router and register the exact Firmware.
dload isn't working with FullOTA-MF, as @dkionline mentioned.
For going back to Stock Firmware (for some reason in the future) you can use for VIE this method:

After about 3 years, I finally had the time to update this project. This project has been discontinued and download links will still be available. Please use it at your own risk and I will occasionally be online to check on comments in this thread but I might not be able to assist you on your problem.
Thank you.
Spoiler: Previous Announcements
These are my plans for the near future:
Current
- Support building for Oreo GSIs.
- They are more stable
- Better graphics performance
- Oreo is the starting point for Project Treble
- Most bugs are already busted and should be bug-free
No Plans
- Don't ask me to build Pie GSIs (I won't build Pie GSIs until this platform is REALLY stable)
- Less stable
- Poor graphics performance (I might be wrong)
- Initial development stage and just starting to rebase Pie's Treble from Oreo
- A lot of bugs to be resolved
Note: I use Project Treble based ROMs as a daily driver. Stability is the most important goal. Oreo = stable, Pie = less stable.
Anyways, stay tuned for more update!!
I was really waiting for Dirty Unicorns on this device. Thanks. I am currently using AEX oreo, how to flash this one?

When you flash this ROM, it will automatically replace system. You have to wipe data to prevent force close (No need to wipe Internal Storage). Just follow the instructions in the "Installation" section.
Remember to backup with Migrate - Custom ROM migration tool in Play Store before you flash.
Nice work man.

Thanks man
Man, thank you for the work, Install went flawlessly (well except when I flashed the first riva zip, I had to update TWRP for my device to get recognized) but now I'm stuck on the lock screen, prompted for a password - I had a gesture, but no text pass, what should I do now? Any way to get around this?
EDIT: Entered my google password, says some data corrupted and can't be recovered. I guess it tried to restore something that's not there. Gonna wipe user data again and I'll report back.
EDIT: Didn't help. It also says my vendor image doesn't match. Maybe the TWRP update mid-installation messed something up? I'm gonna flash again and come back.
EDIT: Nope, reflashed, still happening. Wiped data, still happening.
EDIT: Formatted data. Now started flawlessly. Thank you.
Now, any idea how do I fix the vendor image?

Thank you, man. A lovely ROM indeed. It's fast and stable. I found a few FCs in the settings app though. Opening Dual SIM settings or root management crashes the app. I don't need those settings, so I'm good, but others might. Otherwise everything is working smooth, thanks again <3

No problem and thanks for the report :good:
OK, got another minor thing to report. If you charge when the phone is off, it doesn't show the charging indicator on the screen, instead just loads the booting screen where it says "Unlocked", then after a few seconds restarts, loads the screen again and keeps looping. Again, not a major thing, but thought you'd want to know about it. Might apply to all your Treble builds, not sure.

Can we change status bar icons ? Like the cellular bar and Wifi and battery?
telegram notifications failed to group together after december update
I can't seem to get root back. I did my usual things. It boots up, but when I flash the latest magisk it gets stuck at the G for a bit, then reboots into recovery, where I try again.
I'm fastboot booting the latest twrp and flashing the latest magisk there.
When I say it boots up, I always check that it does before flashing anything.

Is this possible? I'd love to know how?
Also, did anyone else have to flash magisk uninstaller for this update as is mentioned a few posts above by someone? That's not part of my standard procedure.
One more positive I noticed from the update. There's no longer a delay between returning to the homescreen and when you can open a folder. Previously I had to wait a split second for the homescreen animation to finish before I could open a folder.
Seems like 3rd party launchers are supported too? I just used Nova launcher with gesture navigation(not sure if this is new)

I thought I read somewhere it could be done.
Well, last month was the first time I was able to flash OTA and keep root. The procedure was to uninstall Magisk from Magisk Manager (not completely) install the OTA (DON'T REBOOT!) then re-install Magisk from the manager (the after OTA option), then reboot. Worked great.
This month, I tried this and I'm not able to boot up. Reboots a couple of times then goes to a stock recovery screen telling me it can't boot and the options are "try again" and the dreaded "factory reset".
I've tried booting in TWRP (using fastboot) to flash the latest magisk uninstall, and then flashing the full factory image (with the -w flag removed)... not luck so far, but I'll try again a few times as in the past when I've had trouble, re-flashing actually helps.
Anyone else had similar trouble?

Extract the boot.img from the factory image, put it on your phone and patch it via magisk manager. Then put the patched.img in your platform-tools folder, and fastboot it to both slots. It's also a good idea to disable all modules and substratum themes, and set your screen lock to swipe before you do monthly updates. It's what I do every month without issues for about the last 2 years :good:

About Team Win Recovery Project
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or TWRP3.x for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface so no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Working:
Boots
Restore function works
Backup works
Flashing works
Wiping works
Changing the settings works
Current Bugs [will hopefully be resolved soon]:
MTP does not work (use ADB push/pull)
TOUCH SCREEN LAG FIX: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-samsung-galaxy-j2-2016.4194407/post-84232565 [WARNING: THIS HAS A CHANCE TO DESTROY YOUR TOUCH SCREEN]
Installation Instructions:
There are two methods for the installation:
1: Flashing directly via ODIN.
2: Flashing from existing TWRP or PitchBlack Recovery Project.
Method one:
[MAKE SURE YOU HAVE OEM UNLOCK AND USB DEBUGGING ENABLED]
1: Download the tar file from my Github (link will be given below).
2: Put your Samsung device into Download Mode.
3: After doing that, open ODIN v3.10.7 inside of your PC.
4: Click on AP, and locate to the place where you have saved the TWRP tar file.
5: After doing that, connect your phone to the PC and hit START.
6: The phone should automatically reboot. Then turn it off again and reboot to recovery. Done!
Method two:
1: Download the img file and reboot to recovery of your choice.
2: Select "Install".
3: Press "Install Image".
4: Then search for the place where you saved the img.
5: Flash it and reboot to recovery again. Done!

Number 1: I don't port custom recoveries. I take my time to compile everything from source with my own tree (because ported TWRP laggy).
Number 2: I'm not listening to you. If you don't appreciate what a 13 year old does, I will just cancel my order of a Hard Disk that I bought specifically for compiling Android Oreo (and save my money)
Number 3: I have already fixed the touch problem, I forgot to put it in the thread. But because of people like you, I won't put it in ever again (Proof: https://mega.nz/file/NcRiHLbB#ly9jT1CPtign_-Di_Eq6ieRYljq-mn09TJm_fKPnEtw ).
Number 4: This phone WILL NOT run android 9, 10, 11 and even if it does, I won't release it because they will be unstable as ****
Na na na nullcode bro we appreciate your work hope u make android soon and amaze to know u are 13 yo and what does mtp means
And pls put touch fix bcz u can't keep it hidden due to some people who doesn't do anything rather than demotivating others
Touch Lag fix:Warning: This method is extremely dangerous because it has a 70% chance of trashing your Touch Screen. I bricked my touch screen panel after doing this (Display works, but the touch does not function). But after you get the display replaced, everything including TWRP works like a charm. However, there have been some cases where the touch screen does not die, and the users' phones were untouched. So, try at your own risk
Step 1: Flash full stock ROM through ODINStep 2: After flashing, setup your phone as quick as possibleStep 3: After doing this, go to the phone appStep 4: Type *#2663#[WARNING: NO GOING BACK AFTER YOU DO THIS. DON'T BLAME ME IF SOMETHING HAPPENS]Step 5: Press TSP Firmware Update (General)Step 6: DO NOT do anything, until it says "PASS"Step 7: Now, reboot your device.(If your touch screen works, WONDERFUL. Now try going to recovery mode to see if the bug is fixed)# This is only for if your TWRP touch screen still doesn't workStep 8: Go back to *#2663#Step 9: Press "TSP Softkey Update" or something (GUARANTEED DEATH)Step 10: After it says PASS, remove the battery from the phone and turn it back onStep 11: Your touchscreen should now be dead. Go to your nearest service center and get it replaced. After doing this, your touch screen inside TWRP will be fully functional. If you want poof, go to this website:

MTP means Media Transfer Protocol; it's basically an easier way to transfer files between your phone and your computer
