Lock button in navigation bar?

My previous phone was a HTC One (M8) and the HTC software gave me the option to add a lock button in the navigation bar. I've grown very used to having one right there and I miss it this handy feature with my new LG G6, particularly because the hardware lock button is less accessible.
Is there an easy way of doing this without rooting and going the ROM root? I've tried installing the SystemUI Tuner but it does not have an option to add a new button to the navigation bar.
For what you need exactly, i think is hard.
But why do you need it? Just double tap in the status/notifications bar. Also, in Home and if using a custom laucher, double tap also should work.
For now just using knock on and knock on and off by double tapping status bar is what I do.
Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize you can knock the status bar to lock.
It's definitely a good temporary measure that I'll be using for now. Unfortunately, my hands can't comfortably reach the status bar to knock it, so I'll still be on the look out for a way to add a lock button to the navigation bar.

Question about gestures

Hi guys,
I have a Pixel 3 and really like One Plus gestures as you can use the phone without nav bar and get more screen state.
I have been trying some apps but I have a question and would like to know if it is the stock behavior.
Apps I have been trying are:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.oneplusgestures
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xda.nobar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid&hl=en_US
I think they all work fine, but they all have a "activation area" which is just a bar (around 60px height) in the botton of the screen, where the gestures are detected.
But I cannot click anything under that area, I mean if there is something "under" that small area I have to swipe so it goes up and I can click it.
Is that behavior normal in the one plus? I dont think so.
Best regards
I just checked on the native gesture behavior and as far as I can tell, there is no reserved activation area for the OP6T gestures and anything around the bottom-most part of the screen can still be tapped. Each requires the swipe to actually activate.

Is there a way (Root or NonRoot) to permanently show the Navbar on Galaxy S8 Oreo?

Hi there,
I'm on Oreo stock ROM S8 with Magisk root.
Is there a way to make the navbar always visible?
I want the navbar to never disappear in full screen apps and pictures and videos, as if it was not part of the screen. It should never be hidden behind a picture etc. I hate to have to swipe up to reach the navbar. Drives me crazy.
Immersive mode is the most annoying thing I can think of. Hitting buttons in apps near the top accidentally activates the status bar etc. Perhaps there is even a way to disable full screen for all apps?

guestures(hidden) issue cant press home back or navigation, sometimes

recently flashed my s10+ to remove carrier branding and now sometimes i find that the navigation bar when completly hidden, swipe from bottom. sometimes locks its self and wont work at all i have to go to settings and change the navigation bar.
Using nova launcher but hasn't seemed like an issue before, but could also be from the january update? does anyone else have this similar issue when using the navigation bar as guestures swiping from the bottom of the screen?

Any way to move Navigation Bar to top of screen?

I have a 2019 model Tab A, running Android v9. I use the tablet in a stand which makes it difficult to access the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. Is there any way to move this to the top of the screen (or even to one of the sides)?
Me too, disaponting that no one could come up with a solution.
