Hi, i bougth my lg v20 years ago, love the damn phone, but the problem is that i cant seem to have the wifi (and the bluetooth if i install a rom with pie or up) working, i know that dirtysanta works, i can install custom roms but is always the same, on oreo i have no wifi, and anything up i lose wifi and bluetooth, everything else is working fine, i have tried everything, i have flash my phone like 100's of times with all i could find, once i unlock the bootloader with dirtysanta, install twrp and flash the kernel in the post (i need to install the kernel or i have static boot that cant be fixed) i lose wifi even if i dont install anything else, my model (H990T) never had an upgrade to OREO, just 2 .KDZ's of android 7, i have been flashing phones since ICS but i have never been to this kind of problem before.
i have tried:
Using other models .KDZ
Flashing all the roms i could find even if they are not for my model
Flashing all the kernels that i could find even in they are not for my model
Tried all the wifi fixes like misc or WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin with 0 luck
i have brick the phone and resurect it many times trying this, i love this phone and i want to keep it as my daily driver for many years more, but the throttle on the gpu and cpu is showing his age, if i could just change the thermal config so it could run at his fastest speed that would be cool, even if i have no root or newer android, if anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciated, i been tempted to learn how to make my own kernel and roms just to fix this, but i dont have the skills necessary for this, but with help i know i can make it.
i know i could just bought a new phone, but this little phone has been with me a long time, and thanks to him im now in the audiophile world.

Hey all! so.. my friend came from U.S and he got me a used Galaxy 4 from AT&T, and the Wifi is just stuck on a green grey situation, its not on or off
i tried any solution online that i could find. i don't know what to do anymore. nothing helping the things that are only helping was changing the router settings to a different encryption mode from WEP and then its worked but when i connected my gs4 to a different wifi connection the problem happened again
the wifi can work days if I'm not switching wifi spots.
my only solution by now was just to change to a whole new custom ROM
the problem is, that i have NO IDEA how to do it due the fact that i have a mac and i couldn't find a Proper noob guide from scratch to do that. please help me! i am a graphic designer and an artist with a MA in fine arts and i would love to help u guys too
Thank you so much!

This is what I used to get adb/fastboot on my iMac. I am on MDL build, early version phone.
You will need to find you build number first. Under Settings/About Device to determine how to flash roms on the phone--a screen of that page may help also--

hey thanks i added a photo but apparently i need 10 posts at least so just add www i58.tinypic.com/v41bue.png
the wifi is working cuz i restart it to manufacture settings again but soon as i will disconnect him and join a different connection he will go grey again
From the PM photo you are on NB1 build--
If you are going to root to flash a custom rom you will need the below two links--
Read Op page of first link, I think it depends on how the phone got to NB1 as which steps you need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
You will need SafeStrap in below link. So, read up on that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448925
These are if you are going to root to flash a rom. You can only flash Touch Wiz roms and no custom kernels or recovries.
If you want to get back to stock status you will need to flash the appropriare firmware and use Odin on a PC and Heimdall on Mac. Will have to research that.
What carrier are you on and where you are at?
Was the phone ever rooted--
I never returned to stock or used SafeStrap, so someone with hands on experience will have to help on that.
Hiii....I am also having the same problem. My phone was unlocked by a guy and everything was working fine then. From next day the i could not turn on WiFi(It would go grayish for some time and then return to normal).I tried searching for it online and found the following soln
1)Reboot and check(Didn't work)
2)Factory Reset:After doing this it worked for that initial scanning but again was back to normal once wifi was switched off
3)Factory reset and installed root browser(my phone is rooted as i was able to install root explorer) and tried renaming the wpa-supplant config file
.This was worked for me for like 4 days.
After that again the problem is back and its even worse. It is immediately turning off as opposed to delay in previous case. When i tried to follow the same procedure the config files are not present.I could not on wifi even after factory reset even once
As i am a new around here detailed help would be appreciated;

Hello!
This is my first post, but I have found this forum incredibly helpful, and I am hoping to provide a little help myself (and maybe get a little along the way)
I just unboxed a new Nexus 7 (Amazon order within the last 7 days). My purpose for this particular device was to be a dedicated Nethunter device so that I can perform some work related functions with it.
After fiddling for about 2 days with not being able to get the darn thing rooted, I figured out that the lastest/official TWRP builds DO NOT work with the brand new Nexus 7's! This essentially renders things like NRT useless unless you happen to know that you need a very specific custom recovery - (thanks to another thread here on this forum) I figured out that I had to flash a custom multi rom version of TWRP in order to get the device rooted. The intersting thing, this thread was full of people with BRAND new nexus devices . . . not older (by older I mean 3 months or more)
Well, the problems continued. Once I got Nethunter going I was not able to get any external wifi card enabled. More searching as revealed that alot of people are having this issue with lollipop and that the general recommendation is to downgrade to KitKat.
Ok Ok . . so I decided to say "screw lollipop, I'll flash back to 4.4.4"
Yeah . . .well . . . no luck there. No matter what version of bootloader I flashed, and no matter which version of KitKat I tried, I couldn't get any of them to boot past the google initial boot screen. With the recovery mode complaining about not being able to mount /cache /recovery . . .etc - I tried flashing them several different ways and ever from different computers. I even tried downloading the stock images multiple different times.
So . .that brings me to the point of this. It appears that Nexus devices ordered in the last 60 days must have some type of hardware revision change that is making things pretty complicated
I am curious if anyone else is seeing strange things like this?
I can get a rooted version of 5.1.1 going no problem, but I am "stuck" with this weird issue with the external cards, and the weird issue where I cant downgrade.
Thanks for listening
Also, just to add real quick, this device is a 16GB wifi model. The bootloader is claiming a Hardware version of "Rev_E"
I dont have another Nexus 7 to look at, but I wasn't sure if Rev_E was of importance.
Thanks
my first g6 had a broken screen last week. me being abusive to it. from frustration.
bought a used g6 as a backup very quickly but im not liking v9.0
id like to install the first 7.0 version it ever had available H870. I have 3 apps total installed more of a pro privacy advocate so no browser and would like to shut those annoying update popups which are extremely intrusive and come at the worst times. would like to block as much as possible to also have battery life
I dont understand what the roo does, what the bootloader does and I understand I need to flash a kdz rom. if I understand, I need to install 7.0 (not 7.1 or later) then use the root and bootloader to block updates notifications and to remove default apps in the phone.. basically tweak system things...is this correct?
I used to tinker with windows mobile back in the days but after years of fear of bricking and only have one phone, I had to suffer through annoyances in the OS they give. it is time to have a phone that doesnt annoy me and isnt intrusive. I really do need calmness after 18 months of hell with covid.
inevitably I will move to pinephone once it gets mature. for now using this g6. I dont run after the newest models.
any insight or experiences or tips you could throw at me would be appreciated as I think i may be mixing things up
stay afe
i have a used H870 here. Did the root+twrp, up to PIE and tryed/flashed many things, but wasn´t that happy at all. That was a few month ago. A week ago I replaced my battery and tada, sweet runner. So again I wanted more and bricked it to "no sim" after restoring from a kernel here. Since there isnt much for Pie, roms, deadlinks, broken twrp etc. the only tool which worked and helped me was LG bridge to restore to latest stock pie.
I would recommend u to root without recovery via magisk/fastboot method and go for some adaway, acc battery charger, lsposed + gravity, debloat and maybe a kernel manager + etc.
dont forget, when u have sporadic lags, go for the battery.
gl on ur way mate

ps just for info
the only working usb drivers where delivered via the LG bridge tool driver update for me, i tryed many..
Hello everyone,
I've flashed my phones for quite a few years, messed things up from time to time, but always found solutions. This time however, i don't really know where to start.
I kept my Zenfone Max Pro M1 in its original state for the time of warranty and only unlocked and flashed it a few months ago. I first got into problems with the storage (couldn't install apps) and in my attempt to fix it i kinda bricked my phone... i don't remember all the steps i took, but what ended up working was Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) with an Image i found online.
After that i flashed Spark OS and later Superior OS (both clean flashes), but with both i'm having problems with the internet connection. I only get EDGE which is really slow (WiFi, phone calls and everything else works fine). Tried out all possibly APNs and swapped SIM-cards with a friend to rule that out.
I'm suspecting some file needed for UMTS and up (specifically for european networks?) has been overwritten, but i haven't been able to find anything (great job by Microsoft renaming their browser also to Edge, doesn't make the search easier).
I recall having similar problems back then and flashing a certain radio.img fixed it, but i don't find anything about that either. Maybe something else baseband related? Do you think Asus could help me out? What to ask for?
Grateful for any input
Update: realized my serialnumber is displayed as C4ATAS000000 which is not that uncommon and might be the culprit. haven't found a working solution yet, but working on it
Could someone please point me in the direction of a custom ROM that will (or even might) work on Samsung j7 sky pro SM-272VL(GP)
Before anyone suggests, I have already read all of the information out there on rooting, ODIN, TWRP, etc for this phone. It sounds like several have tried, but no one has actually been able to gain root, although there may be hope for that due to security flaw https://www.exploit-db.com/exploits/45379 mentioned in this post #21
SM-S727VL Analysis, Partition Table, and Factory
-- UPDATE #1 (11/05/18) added So I've got myself a Tracfone Variant of the Samsung J7, The "Galaxy J7 Sky Pro" [SM-S727VL] CDMA. As far as I can tell, this variant is sold on both the Tracfone and StraightTalk carriers, and it seems to just run...
forum.xda-developers.com
I have also read all of the only other thread out there on this device on the subject of rooting, or anything really:
SM-S727VL Root and Recovery
I cannot for the life of me get this phone rooted or a recovery installed. Odin always fails and ADB doesn't recognize the device. Does anyone have any info on rooting this device? I really just want to at least be able to update this thing to...
forum.xda-developers.com
However not much was accomplished in these peoples attempts other than a bricked phone or 2, and most of the participants seem to have moved onto other devices.
I however do not have any issue with needing to root as I own the device, and as it is I can boot into a recovery ODIN mode that says that FRP Lock is off, and the screen is showing a "download in progress" background to a console, waiting for me to send the updated firmware/custom ROM/whatever from the USB cable. See attached image.
I run Linux and have for the last 20 years have used too many Distros to count, but can work with most any, but prefer debian based although I have much respect for Gentoo, and their compile everything package management, and have spent considerable time on it as well. l have unlocked and installed custom ROM's of of many types on many phones, and am working with the combined experience of myself, and my friend who has done the same, except even more on more different devices than myself. But neither of us has worked on such an obscure model as this one with so little information posted publicly on the internet for anyone to find as this one. But if there is a way to do it, I'm sure between the two of us, we can and will make it happen.
Can anyone be of any help? I would really like to get something out of the phone for the $100 that it cost me. Things I would like to run would be Kali Nethunter, and/or Andrax or Cyanogenmod/LineageOS or really any other AOSP that is not google f***ed. Basically any custom ROM (whichever, whatever type and version has the best chance of working on this phone, since there are none posted publicly that are specifically made for this device that we can find for this obscure, excessively undocumented model of phone. Just getting TWRP will be a good start, and I'm pretty sure we can handle that. However in the mentioned posts even the the TWRP file that is made for this phone, people are having troubles installing in their experiences, and bricking their phones in the process, so I definitelly would prefer not to have a repeat of what happened there.
Thank you in advanced for any and all information, hints, tips, tricks, etc. I would like to not brick this phone as the only other person who attempted to do anything with this phone unfortunately had done.
