Galaxy Tab S5e - Security Pin - Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have configured my tablet to enter security pin and fingerprint to unlock my device. Usually when the tablet is powered on, I will be asked to enter my pin once, and any future unlocking (without powering down) will be done via fingerprint.
I also have a work profile on my tablet and have configured my tablet to have one security pin for accessing my tablet as well as work profile, and I would only need to enter one pin when the device is powered up. This was working fine for months.
However as of this week, when the tablet is powered on, I am asked to input one security pin to access the tablet and another for the work profile. This means I need to enter security pins twice when the tablet is powered on.
Can you assist me with having the tablet only ask me to enter one security pin while being powered on (as it used to work this way previously)?

WiFi will not save two security key numbers

Hi,
I am using the HD Mini with HTC Sense and Windows Mobile software.
I first used the wifi at work and entered their security key to get access to the internet without any problem.
When I got home I did the same, enter the security key number and got internet access.
I presumed that the device would save both sets of connection security keys, however when I went back to work the following day I had to enter the security key again.
The HD Mini does not seem to save the security key number. Nor does it save the home security key once I have typed in the office one.
Is there some way I can save both keys so it automatically connects up to the wifi?
Any apps that can do this on the Windows Mobile or HTC Sense system?
John
Hey, i doubt this is a common error as i am able to do this with no problem. After i type in the security code the first time the phone automatically signs me in. This is the case for using the wifi at my parent's house, my univerisity and the couple of friend's houses i have logged in at.
The thing with my university though is that the first time i had to manually establish a connection by going to adaptor and networks and then filling it my details. Whenever you fill in a security key it should automatically save the key for future access. However, your problem may actually not be the phone saving the key, it may be that the wifi source(your work) requires you to establish a new connection everytime, for security reasons.
Do some trial and error because as far as i know, i've never had difficulties with having to re-enter a security key.
Hi Kazmir,
Thanks for the suggestion. I entered the work wifi access manually, just as you suggested, and now it picks up each site automatically without having to re-enter the security keys.
Glad i could help.

Issue with Android Password and Wifi

I have been experiencing the problem below and I am wondering if this is a HoneyComb issues (which can be fixed in the next Android OS release) or Asus specific issues:
1). Wifi
Many times, when my Eee went into sleep mode and I turned it on, it will show that there is no Internet Connection. Going to the Wifi Settings shows that it's in "Scanning..." mode and the previously configured access point is shown as "Out of range". I had to turn OFF Wifi and turn it ON back again and it will immediately connect to the Access point. This will also happen for sure if I REBOOT my Asus
2). Password
I setup "Pattern" as the password to access the Android OS and set it for 5-minutes delay. Problem is, there is just NO DELAY. The moment I put the Eee into sleep mode and turn it ON again, the password prompt shows up.
So both problems relates to the Eee going to sleep mode. Anyone have these problems?
with rgds to wifi, have a read through this thread... it worked for me..

[Q] Accessing phone via ADB shell with broken touchscreen (can't authenticate)

So, the touchscreen on my Nexus 4 broke this weekend. I have a new device coming in, but in the meantime I need to be able to access the device to use a few different apps and send/receive some SMS messages from it.
I found a guide on reddit (Apparently I'm not allowed to post links, but it'll be the first result if you google "How I managed to use my Android device with a broken touch screen")
It's not exactly simple, but it should work.
Unfortunately, I discovered that in order to use ADB shell commands, a pop-up window should appear on the phone to allow/disallow USB debugging. (USB debugging is enabled already, but there appears to be an additional 'authentication' step)
Unfortunately, I can't use the phone's touchscreen, so I can't unlock it or tap the notification that will allow me to authenticate the phone.
Is there a way I can get around that authentication step?
The device is unlocked and rooted.

Samsung S8 wifi issues

I am not sure what the problem could be or whether I have to change some settings but my phones wifi as well as the Bluetooth don't work as expected.
I connect to the wifi at home, then if I go out i switch it off, when later in the evening I turn it on again, it doesn't auto connect (despite me clicking the auto-connect checkbox when putting the password) and I have to go back to settings click on the desired wifi and put the password again; this happens also when I restart my phone( it keeps asking me for my password)
The same goes with the bluetooth, on my s6 it would connect automatically to my car Bluetooth once I went through the initial settings, now even after the initial pair, it doesn't connect unless I put my bluetooth device on discovery mode again.
It's a rooted s8 with MAGISK,twrp installed on it.
I have tried to reset network and other setting, clear cache but no success.
any advice?

[Q] Mobile Hotspot only allows connections after I unlock phone

I've been using Tasker to turn on mobile hotspot automatically when I connect to my car's Bluetooth, so my headunit in the car can use the internet. Mobile Hotspot gets turned on fine, but nothing can connect to the hotspot until I unlock my S8. I will get "authentication errors" on anything I try to connect to the hotspot until the phone has been unlocked.
I can relock the phone afterwards and it still works, but it's obviously a pain having to take my phone out and unlock it every time (and kinda defeats the purpose of having Tasker turn the hotspot on). Is there some way around this?
I should add, this only seems to be a problem recently, since Oreo. Previously it worked without issue.
Go to settings - lock screen and security - secure lock settings - and uncheck the lock network and security. Should work, but I cannot test it since my phone is rooted. Good Luck
