Custom kernels for g985f and g988b - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Guides, News

Very fast custom kernels

If you've got a custom kernel to share, please make sure to do so in the proper forum section. But of course, you might have to contribute a bit more to the community before you can post there...
Also, when you do open your development thread, provide proper download links and, since the Android kernel is released under GPL, the kernel source.
Closing this thread, but if you have any questions you are welcome to contact me through PM.

[Q] Requesting kernel development for aosp lollipop roms

Coming from Galaxy s3, the only thing I miss on my s4 is the lack of a good aosp kernel. It is sad to see that at present there are no aosp/cm kernels under development. On my s3 there was boeffla kernel available which had a lot of settings we could play with and get the most out of the phone. I hope someone can take up this herculean task and provide us with a super kernel. I know it is just too much to ask for but if someone could take the initiative, me and some of the users here would be more than willing to participate as beta testers and do our part.
Wrong thread.THIS IS ANDRIOD DEVOLOPMENT THREAD.and this post is actually useless as it is a request for ETA.Also persues kernel dev told that he will work on this when he get time.Totally unnessary .please do some research as one of members have same post in s4 QandA
Keep calm.Coz IPL 8 belongs to KKR
The time spent whining about no development would be better spent in learning how to do it yourself. Remember, this is XDA-DEVELOPERS, not XDA-USERS and the developers don't have to do anything if they don't want to.

[Request] Kernel 3.10.X request for mediatek mt6582 for Honor 3c (H30-u10)

Can any dev please build or patch a kernel version "3.10.x" for our this device? [Honor 3c (h30-u10)]
There are quite a lot of lollipop ROMs out there for this device mostly cm12.1 but they all use kernel 3.4.67. This makes the device not so good in lollipop. If anyone can help with this regard that would be very dope. Cheers!
First, questions and requests go in Q&A sections.
Second, this is a development site, not a place to ask people to create things for you. Keep checking in for development for your device, using the search tool.
Or, the quicker way would be to study up and do it yourself. Many resources here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android

Request for senior members

Hi all,
Iam actually interested in building ROM's, porting rom's and features to contribute to the community. But one of the major hurdle is finding right resources and right testing methods. So I would like to request senior members with some experience in porting ROM, multi rom, TWRP etc., to please create a tutorial or even provide few sources where a newbie can learn about ROM development. If not a tutorial, please just publish the methods you followed during the developments you have made. This would help the community by easing the pressure on currently limited good developers. Thanks in advance.:good:

Heyyo, actually a good guide would be to check out OmniROM wiki. They have a guide to porting ROMs from other ROMs to theirs. Otherwise? Please check the commit history of any rom that the LeEco Le Max 2 has been ported to.
https://github.com/omnirom/Docs/blob/master/Porting_Omni_To_Your_Device.md
Of course, every ROM is different so for other ROMs hopefully they have a guide otherwise you'd have to check commit history of other devices and see what they had to change.
You can also find a lot of the recent work the Le Max 2 community has done on here for device, kernel and vendor.

I can't recommend the omni way to build. It's harder for a newbie to build omni other then lineage. At least that's my opinion

Needing testers for Motorola Moto G22

Introducing Motorola Moto G22 (hawaiip) developer community, this is an initiative to bring testers under the same roof for the betterment of development for Hawaiip
I advise people with the device to come forth as testers, please take note that it is only with your support that development with flourish. Regardless of the number of developers, there's no point when there's no one to test.
Requirements to be added as a tester:
1. Must have the device with an unlocked bootloader.
2. Must be knowledgeable and experienced enough with custom ROMs flashing.
3. A reliable internet connection is recommended.
4. Access to a pc would be beneficial for obtaining logs, but isn't necessary.
5. Should be active. You will be removed if inactive for longer periods.
6. Should be loyal to the team. If found to be leaking builds or even mere screenshots, you will be removed.
{Mod edit} If you meet all the necessary requirements and are interested to volunteer as a tester. Answer this post

Hi , i would like to be a tester , i dont have much knowledge in flashing (but i have some basic knowledge and i alr flashed roms on other devices) other than that , i have everything required , where should i contact you? Over discord or in this thread?
Hi. I would like to be a tester. I have many years of basic custom-rom flashing experience on three mobile phones. Can follow any instructions for debugging/taking debug-logs.
Why they don't add our device into the devices list? There's the G20 but not out G22
i would like to be a tester , I have many years flashing roms whit moto g22 have 1 year and ready for give help if it possible
I would love to. I've got a spare hawaiip i'm not using at the moment, and feel quite comfortable with the task as I used to cook my own roms.
