So I decided to try a new rom for my tab. I had never rooted or unlocked a bootloader before.
I flashed TWRP and installed EvolutionX (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/rom-evolution-x-4-20-2-t4088469) for my tab, which is currently unmaintained.
Everything went fine, I even had 2 backups made. But when I made a backup of my EvolutionX install and rebooted into TWRP, I saw that my 2 backups were missing, just gone! However, I did my EvolutionX backup.
Now I want to go back to stock ROM, but I am confused
When I go to sammobile, or other websites to download stock rom, I see that there are multiple ones, even for the same android version my stock rom was (8.1) and same country (United States) and I am confused. I see stock for T58abcxyz, T580jklmno and stuff.
I was wondering if someone could like make a backup of their system partition and send it to me.
Thanks!
EDIT: Fixed by downloading firmware from Frija, and installing AP and CSC file through Odin in Download Mode

Hi, I have a N910F in the UK. I was on stock BOC5 rom loaded via OTA. I then rooted via cf root and loaded twrp all succesfully. I took a back up and stored on external sd card and internal. I then saw stock BOC5 deodex so thought i would try. Downloaded the file and it failed to flash. I then used my ext SD backup and that failed, so flashed internal, all was good.
Then the crap hit the fan. I then thought if I went official BOD2 from sammobile then flash the deodex maybe better. Downloaded BOD2 and went through odin, it failed saying the file was too large. i then did a search and found a Pit file, so used that in odin too and failed at the same. went to recovery, it booted into download mode saying to connect to kies. Tried that and my comp didn't recognise phone. Reflashed cf root and twrp, all worked but can only see ext SD. internal says 0mb. i get boot with both samsung logos but then says decrypt and to reset phone. i have since downloaded a couple of sammobile roms and a couple of roms flashable in twrp and no luck.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I know this is probably back to samsung repair.
quick update. downloaded newest version of odin< downloaded 3mobile uk version and went through odin with this pit file http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3135354&d=1422307712. this worked, rooted, installed trwp, installed my ext sd back up and all worked fine.
Ok, another update, I have lost efs. i used kies to go back to stock rom and used my twrp back up to restore efs. it passed in 1 sec but nothing in the efs folders.
i do however, have correct imei, connect to wifi, etc it does however have the wrong serial number showing. does anyone know why twrp isnt restoring EFS?

Hello,
I had not updated the ROM on my phone in quite some time so I recently decided to update everything. I flashed an updated modem thru ODIN and then updated to some Android 5.0.1 and 5.1 roms.
I ended up having some odd reboot issues so I decided I would flash completely stock rom and go from there. I downloaded the most recent stock rom for my phone from SamMobile and flashed it thru ODIN. ODIN says passed and everything looks to have worked.
The problem is my phone will start and boot up to the point where I set up Android (choosing language etc) and then the phone reboots. This happens everytime.
Any advice or suggestions? I thought flashing stock would fix my issue!
UPDATE:
I flashed Stock thru ODIN again and it seems to be working now. I will update the post again if anything changes!
Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section actually I'm a newbie
Hi all, I've updated my Note 3 SM-N900 to Cm 14 nougat 7.1.1 unofficial lonage os by ha_3g. Now i want to go back to my stock Twiz 5.0 lollipop, is it possible I've all my rom backedup by TWRP. Can i restore my backup without any problem?
Thanks in advance
nah, usually i just flash my firmware using odin without backup
Usually if you want to revert back to stock firmware, everything will be removed, including your custom recover(TWRP in this case), miscellaneous files and folders that were previously on your custom ROM. So, in summary, you won't be able to recover your backed up apps/data as TWRP will get wiped out as well, being replaced by the stock Samsung recovery.
Yep, wipe system, data, cache & dalvik then restore your backup.
Before updating I've backed up my stock Twiz rom via TWRP, now i just want to revert back to my Stock rom which was lollipop 5.0. I'm afraid bcz I've seen some where that we cannot install 5.0 (lower version) over 7.1 (greater) version it will brick the phone bcz of some bootloader issues, btw I've not messed up with bootloader, so plz advise me if it will be safe or not.
Lot of Thanks for the members of the forum who replied in no time & who r ready to help. Salute to all of u. you people r great
Only a stock firmware flashed with Odin can upgrade your bootloader.
And the latest official firmware for Note 3 is Lollipop 5.0.
So your bootloader still 5.0 even if you flashed a nougat rom.
Even more, custom roms don't touch bootloader or modem partitions, ever.
Go ahead
Hey bro. Just go to sammobile.com and download your rom and flash via Odin. Only Odin can downgrade your BL and Modem
Thanks alot for the clarification I'll go ahead now.
I can swap between 7.1 Nougat and 5.0 stock, with no issues, through my nandroids.
If you had a nandroid before, you shouldn't have any issue just using the TWRP function to restore your backup. It will be exactly as you had it before.
The only difference will be that you will still have TWRP installed, etc.
Anyways, you can swap back and forth as much as you like. You don't have to wipe anything, or use Odin, since you made a nandroid already.
Yes you can go back to lollipop . I have done that in my sm 900 exynos version. marshmallow and nougat drains battery
this phone is just for messing with so backup isn't needed. Unlocked, son did factory reset only twrp was left on it. D/L Magma rom, went into twrp clicked on zip, nadda. D/L different rom (forget the name) still no dice. D/L Odin, installed stock rom, phone works no issues etc, but twrp was gone. Re-loaded twrp with Odin, but still couldn't get either of the previous 2 roms to load. Searches have yielded inconsistent results. Some say you can load a rom over the stock with Odin, others say you can't. Tried to find a rom I could load via Odin that would work on the sm-n900t but the stock rom is all that comes up in my searches. Not really sure where to go from here, if someone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Currently reading about the apps on the playstore to see if they might work.
Usual is wrong TWRP for the custom rom.
This is not thenforum for your model .
You requre TMobile
- Samsung's stock firmwares must be flashed with Odin.
- Custom Roms using Aroma installer (like Magma) requires TWRP's version ≤ 3.0.1
- Oreo and Pie based Roms requires TWRP's version ≥ 3.2.1
Hi, I have an N910T running update LineageOS (TWRP), and I a couple of apps recently won't run on a rooted phone. So I have tried to restore the stock ROM. I downloaded from Sammobile (tried 4.4 and 5.1) but neither will load using ODIN (log shows failure before any .img files loaded).
Can anyone suggest how to go back in time on this phone?
Thanks for any help!

An updated bootloader, as I assume you already have, will NOT let you flash an older version of the stock rom.
When you have that (updated bootloader) , for security reasons you are no longer able to roll so much back as 4.4 or 5.1 roms.
Only 6(MM) and up roms are allowed anymore.
So , look here for the latest stock rom for your phone/model and flash it using odin
