I bricked my phone. no twrp, no download mode. - Samsung Galaxy A20 Questions & Answers

I was trying to install a custom rom. I had unlocked bootloader and twrp already set up then installed ultimate Q then installed Evolution X 4.0. everything went fine until i rebooted it. Now phone doesn't start if i hold the power button. only response if I hold "vol down + power" then the screen turns on. If i try to "vol up + power" it doesn't boot into twrp. Download mode doesn't work either (I cant get to it).
This video (youtub/watch?v=Rc1Lvihyp8c) shows the guy using some sort of usb attachment. Is there a software equvalent of that which i can use my pc to reset the phone?
Any way to get it to flash twrp again?

To go to download mode
Normal method
1. Turn off phone
2. Hold down both volume keys
3. Plug in computer
Bootlooping
1. Plug in to computer
2. Hold down both volume keys
For a difficult phone
1. Connect usb to computer but not to phone
2. Hold down all 3 keys
3. When it buzzes release power and quickly plug in usb to phone.
It might take a few times to get it right.
If it's REALLY BAD
1. Wait for the battery to completely run down and use normal method.

How to get into Download Mode

Samsung Vibrant Download Mode
Method 1 (without ADB):
1. Take out battery, put it back in. (to turn the phone fully off)
2. Don't turn it the phone on!
3. Plug the phone into your PC, do not hit the power button!
4. See if the phone shows anything on the screen (screen turns on when plugged in) EX: Shows a battery, shows error messages if bricked, etc. Shows anything.
IF the phone screen does 'turn on' after being plugged in without you hitting the power button, so far so good.
5. Now while it's on like this, hold both the volume up and volume down buttons.
6. Hold the power button as well as the volume buttons until the screen goes black.
7. As soon as the screen goes black, let go of the power button! But DON'T let go of the volume buttons!
This is how I got into download mode to fix my 'odd' brick.
Method 2 (with ADB):
1. Turn your phone on
2. Go to Settings -> Application Settings
3. Enable Debug Mode
4. Plug your phone into your PC
5. Install Android SDK
6. Open Command Prompt
7. Type: cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
8. Type: adb reboot download
Either of these methods *should* get you into Download mode. After that you should be able to use Odin to revert to stock, tar and instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
Or flash anything with Odin.
I am in a situation where I rooted my phone but never made a recovery and now I did a factory reset and I only get a force close loop when booting and cannot do anything. I am not able to get into debugging mode to use ADB and the hardware buttons are not working any suggestions on how I can fix this
The only thing i did was remove some bloatware which is why I did not do a recovery since I wasnt removing anything important. Phone worked fine until I tried to do the factory reset now everything just force closes and cannot do anything
I turned my phone on then removed battey. hold vol up and down together then plug the phone in via usb to pc, should enter download mode after a few seconds (don't press the power button at all)I use odin to flash back to stock.
THANKS!
This saved my ass lol I was lookin at it like wtf? cuz odin failed and then when i reloaded and tried again nothing happened so i unplugged. I don't know what I was thinking when I did it, but I did lol.
Thanks again bro

just Odin back to stock and start over there is realy no other way to fix fc
OP: what youre doing in your hardware button combinajtion method is lettinf it boot, then pressing the up+down vol and doing a hardware reset (by holding power key). You can cut oout a step by holding tthe up down keys when you plug in. It should boot to download automatically.
Also, you should mention in your post that the button combination is different for people who flashed gingerbread bootloaders..
Another thing, i believe the newer android sdk moved the adb package to C:/android-sdk/platform-tools/ ..
To tthe person with the force close issue, read the OP, go into download mode and use odin to flash to stock.

I just spent the afternoon recovering my phone after the OTA update.
I was able to get into download mode using the following:
With the phone powered off hold BOTH volume keys while simultaneously plugging the USB cable(that is already attached to your pc) into the phone.
Worked every time for me. Hope this helps.
Hi I have tried that and other buttons combination for the past 30 mins and found nothing. I have read into that any vibrant from the batch in august have been disabled for the download mode, is this true?
Pull the battery out first.
plug in usb
hold up, down and power buttons
reinsert battery with free hand.

That's how it works for me.
If I hold the power button while doing the above I only go into recovery mode.
i'm starting to get worry because i tried everything and nothing is happening. it is as if my phone has disable the recovery mode.
The volume up/down button thing never worked for me either. For me, the only thing that works is adb (the android debug bridge). Download/install the samsung drivers, and the android SDK (see messages on this board for links & instructions).
On the phone go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and check the USB Debugging box. Connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable, open a command prompt & type 'adb devices' w/out the quotes. You should get one listed device if you've done the above correctly. Then type 'adb reboot download' to put your phone into download mode.

[Q] no download mode

nothing i do will get my phone into download mode, i have done it before to root my phone but now it just goes into manual mode every time (removed bat sd everything hold vol up and down (next 2 i did in both orders) added bat then usb / also did usb then add bat) what did i do to my phone?
By "manual" mode do you mean recovery? You only hold the volume down button, not both, to get into download mode.

And you also don't need to remove SD

yep - you're doing it wrong... All you need to do to get to DL mode is turn the phone off, hold the down volume button pressed while plugging in USB. I tend to remove the battery when I do so manually, b/c then that is the only place it can go... No way to get into manual mode with the battery removed.
So for me, it is:
1) Power down
2) remove battery - set aside
3) press and hold [volume down]
4) (with battery out and [volume down] still pressed) plug in USB
5) do what you gotta do in DL mode
...unplug, put the battery back in, boot. Go on with your project.
yup got it working i dont know why but the 2 guides i was reading all said to hold both. ty and everything is working great.

They were probably talking about getting into CWM.
(I actually made the same mistake the first time I was trying to use Odin, I kept ending up in the stock recovery and actually thought THAT was download mode!)

S7 Edge stuck on boot logo ( G935FD )

I tried flashing the bootloader from here.
Then it went crazy or something, and got stuck on the powered by android logo, however i was still able to boot into download mode the first time by holding power + volume down button
to simulate a battery pull then quickly holding the volume down + home + power again. Then I tried flashing TWRP immediately in an attempt to make it work because i have a flash drive to microUSB adapter that allows me to read flash drives from my phone ( so that I can flash the rom properly ). The last time I was in TWRP there was 0 things in my storage everything was wiped after I flashed TWRP the first time
Now im trying to go back into download mode but it just wont let me after the battery pull.
1.) After simulating the battery pull, I immediately let go when the screen is dark.
2.) I immediately attempt to go into download. It shows the powered by android for a second, then flickers then it's back to the powered by android again.
3.) I think my recovery and download is screwed. Or something is going on
=== EDIT ===
I managed to get into download mode and flash back my stock rom.
I think the phone must have read my Power & Volume Down & Home button as the battery pull because I let go of all buttons completely before doing it.
Steps to get out of bricked hell:
• Hold Power & Volume Down until the phone turns off
• Immediately without letting go of the Power & Volume Down button, press the home button as well.
• If the timing is not correct just retry.

Bricked phone

I was trying to flash a recovery file ony my A20e phone. But now it's stuck on blank screen. I can't even enter download mode. Every time I restart it (using VolDown + Power) it just goes back to that same blank screen
try this
To go to download mode

1. Turn off phone
2. Hold down both volume keys
